GitHub retired the macos-13 runner, so the macos-amd64 release job had nowhere to run. Without that archive, the Homebrew formula and install.sh have nothing to download on Intel Macs. This cross-compiles x86_64-apple-darwin on macos-latest instead. The rust toolchain step already installs the target.

Verification

  • On an Apple Silicon Mac, cargo build --target x86_64-apple-darwin built and linked, including aws-lc-rs and the signalsmith C++ code. file reports Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64, and arch -x86_64 … --version runs under Rosetta.
  • The workflow YAML parses and the build matrix is as expected.

Not tested

  • The release workflow itself only runs on a tag, so it hasn't run with this change.
  • The update-homebrew job is still a placeholder that only echoes. The formula's __VERSION__/sha256 placeholders are never filled in, so Homebrew installs still need a tap repo and that job written.

GitHub retired the macos-13 runner, so the macos-amd64 job had nowhere to
run and releases shipped without the archive the Homebrew formula and
install.sh download for Intel Macs. Cross-compile it on macos-latest.
