## Structured output on Cursor routes

Cursor routes translate Responses `text.format` (`json_object` or `json_schema`) into explicit
final-answer instructions in the system context and active request, including tool-result
continuations. This is a prompt fallback: Cursor does not provide native constrained JSON decoding
on this transport, and models can still return an invalid answer. The adapter does not turn prose
into an approval decision. Auto-review callers should validate the returned JSON and use a
structured-output-capable route when strict enforcement is required. Ordinary text requests and
intermediate tool calls keep their existing behavior.

## Structured final output

Cursor's Connect wire has no native Responses `text.format` schema field. The adapter preserves
`json_object` and `json_schema` in `src/adapters/cursor/types.ts` and renders the final-output
contract through `src/adapters/cursor/structured-output.ts`. The protobuf builder includes it in
system roots and repeats it in active user-message actions, including tool-result continuations.
This is a prompt fallback, not constrained decoding or response-schema validation. Tool calls
remain available before the final answer; ordinary text requests receive no JSON instruction.
The checkpoint instruction digest includes the format, so a changed schema forces full replay.
`tests/providers/cursor/cursor-request-compat.test.ts` checks the encoded action and
`tests/providers/cursor/cursor-request-builder.test.ts` checks checkpoint invalidation.

## Cursor parameterized models
