Currah Speech low volume

I put the two roms in my system/fuse directory (I also tried them in the system directory) but when enabling the option in the core nothing is different. There should be a Speech System Copyright CURRAH 1983 message at the top of the screen (in 48K basic mode). Like this -

The roms are definitely there in my `system/fuse` directory. I took them from MAME -

currah.rom (renamed it to uspeech.rom)
sp0256a-al2.bin (renamed to sp0256-al2.bin)

The roms work on standalone FUSE but require sp0256-al2.bin to be renamed to sp0256-al2.rom. Don't know if that makes a difference being a ROM instead of a BIN.

Can anything be done about the volume of the uSpeech ? It's extremely quiet. The whole core seems quieter than others. If you boost the volume then eveything else is loud. If you turn the beeper volume down then you can hear the speech but very quiet.

I've just noticed that there is a Volume Level for uSpeech in the Standalone version of Fuse. Could you add this to Fuse to complement the Beeper/AY volume but boost it first ? Or let it go up to 200, with 100 being normal.
