Introduction

This HEP documents the findings for the big BBQ event we had in August 2026 in the hopes of making it easy to organize and facilitate next events. We can edit this HEP to add updated numbers when we want.

Notes: Collecting money as RSVP kept attendance high. Program was on schedule. Saturday worked great. Venue was not too crowded. We can collect more money next time. Hackerspace now has one BBQ station, we need to buy more.

Notes: We should have said: 400 ₺ is minimum and 800 ₺ is recommended chip-in. We had to forgo from a few things to make this event financially work. Also a few people donated 1000+ ₺ to balance the budget.

Notes: Alp içecek dünyası for cheap beverage. We could go less with ice. Meat was perfect, no need to save from it.

Food

Butcher	Bonfileci Vahit: People loved the meat.
Meat	500g per person, boneless
Bread	We don't have exact quantity, but we could have more
Vegetables	Some wasted, people won't eat much salad and charred vegs
Ice	We had 25kg+ ice for 21 L cold drinks. We should halve it next time. It was too much.
Cold drinks	We got ~0.5L cola turka + ~0.2L beypazarı per person. We could increase it by 10% next time.

Notes: Maybe more köfte and less sucuk for the next time. But people loved everything.

BBQ Equipment

BBQ Set and Utensils	Bilal brought a set, it was awesome.
Table	We could use one more table to prepare and stash food.
Blower	Safa brought USB blower, made magic.
Charcoal	Highly flammable olympos charcoal did its trick, buy it next time too.
Flames and Smokes	Chicken was okay. Sucuk and köfte made a lot of mess. We can invest in an ızgara with a handle next time.
BBQ Station	We had two standing mangals. One is Bilal's. The other is Hackerspace's now. Bilal keeps it in his basement. 2 standing stations was enough to grill for ~30 people.
