Problem

Large macOS cards can compress unread counts into an ellipsis. Corner badges also feel too prominent on larger macOS and iOS cards, and their opaque dark slabs look heavier than intended.

Root cause

The unread count text can accept a compressed width from its overlay layout instead of retaining its intrinsic horizontal size. Badge sizes previously grew linearly with card width, overshooting the desired sizes on large cards.

Fix

• Keep unread count text at its intrinsic horizontal size so the full count remains visible.
• Render the shared corner-badge slab at 85% opacity while leaving the foreground fully opaque.
• Calibrate badge font sizes per platform and card-width band:
  • Dashboard small/medium/large: macOS 10/11/12pt, iPhone 9/10/11pt, iPad 10/11/12pt.
  • Browse medium/large grid: macOS 11/12pt, iPhone 10/11pt, iPad 11/12pt.
  • Keep tvOS sizing unchanged.

Validation

• make format — passed.
• make build — iOS, macOS, and tvOS builds all passed.
