Create React App
create-react-app is the official React App boilerplate created by Facebook after noticing how much React
has gained popularity and the number of boilerplates there were around.
We're using Yarn as the dependency manager instead of npm, because
of speed and flat dependency structure that makes our app more lightweight and without redundant
packages.
To create a new React app from scratch, open your Terminal and run:
yarn global add create-react-app
create-react-app react-apzcreate-react-app does all the configuration and dependency installation necessary to have a blank React
app up and running.
Once the app has been created, navigate into the directory and start the app:
cd react-apz
yarn startyarn start should automatically open the app for you on your main browser. If it didn't, open it on
http://localhost:3000.
Should the port 3000 be busy, you will be prompted to use a different port number.
In order to keep track of our progress, we'll commit our changes to a local Git repository.
Creating a local repo is as easy as running git init in your app's root dir.
git init
git add .
