The generic
xdg-openbackend can miss inherited MIME defaults and send JSON files to the browser. Usegio openfor default file opening and text editing, withxdg-openonly whengiois not found. Make file paths absolute so relative names are not interpreted as options or URIs.Verified real GIO inheritance from a
text/plainassociation to JSON, including spaces, relative names and non-UTF-8 filename bytes. Missing-GIO fallback and permission-denied launch errors were also checked. The Linux shell tests, Clippy and documentation checker pass.
