edit-premiere

A Claude Code skill that builds vertical 1080×1920 short-form reels live in Adobe Premiere Pro 2026 — driven end to end by an agent.

Point it at a folder of raw footage and it will:

  • Sync the audio-recorder and camera tracks (GCC-PHAT) and orient the shot upright.
  • Transcribe verbatim, force-align to word times, and tighten into word-level jump-cuts — removing silences, filler words, and flubbed retakes.
  • Add captions, stack b-roll options (LLM-authored motion-graphic designs, web images, webpage screenshots, company logos, news cards), and a background-removed subject cutout.
  • Optionally build a per-beat STYLE demo (thirds / cutout / inset / design-band layouts, auto-picked per beat via a vision model).

It composes all of this into a new Premiere sequence over the Premiere MCP (a CEP/ExtendScript bridge) — the live-NLE analog of the edit-kdenlive / edit-reels skills, which generate offline project files instead.

Using it

This is a personal skill directory that lives at ~/.claude/skills/edit-premiere. It's shared here as a reference/example of an agent-driven video-editing pipeline — expect to adapt the paths, presets, and brand styling to your own setup.

Start with SKILL.md — it's the full spec: prerequisites, the one-command entry point, the frame/geometry model, the two-phase hand-edit workflow, design themes, and the known Premiere/MCP limitations.

Setup sketch

  1. Premiere Pro 2026 open with the MCP CEP bridge panel started.
  2. Model venvs under ~/.cache/edit-reels (see the edit-kdenlive skill) and ANTHROPIC_API_KEY.
  3. cp local.env.example local.env and set BOOST_DATA to your media root.
  4. ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=... ./make_reel_premiere.sh "$BOOST_DATA/reels/<date>/<take>" "Reel 03"

Notes

  • The classic design/caption theme is styled to a specific creator brand (jakebeau_); retarget it to your own via the brand guide.
  • Optional Langfuse tracing of every LLM call is wired in but a no-op unless configured.
  • No secrets are committed — langfuse.env and local.env are gitignored.
