Summary

Follow-up to #237. After #237 merged, main still failed two governance jobs, the same two its child resource-algebra#8 fixes. Minting resource-algebra also exposed one more defect in the mint recipe.

Check / defect Cause Fix
governance / Actions lockfile verify standards ae36881 installs gh-actions-lock v0.1.6, which refuses lock format v0.0.3 re-pin to standards 6a92510, which installs v0.2.0; relocked
governance / UUID v7 conformance the strict v8 gate rejected the uuid5 hex in CLAUDE.md and in the deed comment, and the Julia [extras] registry UUIDs in Project.toml.in print the deed's typed #u5"…" literal and drop the hex from the comment; 6a92510 includes standards#1258, which scans Project.toml.in as Project.toml
self-name pass rewrote rsr-template-repo#N (the template's own issues) into <child>#N keep issue references as they are, with a test

Changes

  • fix(repo-init): the self-name pass keeps rsr-template-repo#N.
    • The rewrite program moves into SELF_NAME_SED.
    • The new tests/workflows/self_name_pass_test.sh runs that program, as the recipe defines it, on fixtures. Estate Rules runs the test.
  • fix(arrival-pack): extract.sh prints :repo-uuid as the deed's typed literal.
    • A deed whose uuid isn't typed stops generation with exit 2.
    • CLAUDE.md is regenerated, and the deed comment no longer spells out the hex.
    • Per review, the literal is read at any indentation and spacing. A space inside the literal is still refused: the deed ABNF defines %s"#u5" string, with no space allowed between them.
  • fix(ci): the six standards reusables are pinned to 6a92510. actions.lock was relocked by standards' propagate-workflow-pins.sh (standards#1254).
  • docs(changelog).

RSR Quality Checklist

Required

  • Tests pass (below)
  • No banned language patterns
  • SPDX license headers present on all new files
  • No secrets, credentials, or .env files included

As Applicable

  • Documentation updated (CLAUDE.md regenerated)
  • CHANGELOG updated under [Unreleased] / Fixed

Testing

Run locally on this tree:

  • check-uuid-v8.sh --strict ., using standards main's scanner: exit 0.
  • The lock gates all pass:
    • check-lock-sync.sh, both the repo's copy and standards main's;
    • the governance gate's update-actions-lock.sh --verify-local, run with the checksum-verified gh-actions-lock v0.2.0 and mikefarah yq v4.
  • self_name_pass_test.sh: 8 of 8. With the old program, 3 of the 8 cases fail.
  • Also passing:
    • archetype_lock_merge_test.sh and non_interactive_mint_test.sh;
    • placeholders, root shape and the render check (160 files);
    • repository-map freshness and determinism;
    • deed_clause_test.sh and the arrival-pack verify.sh.

…ferences

`rsr-template-repo#N` names this template's own issue. The self-name pass
rewrote it to `<child>#N`, an issue of the child that does not exist or is
unrelated: resource-algebra carried such references (resource-algebra#209
for the deed-clause migration) after its mint on 2026-10-14. The pass now
shields `rsr-template-repo#<digit>` before the rewrite and restores it after.

The rewrite program moves into SELF_NAME_SED so that
tests/workflows/self_name_pass_test.sh can run it, as the recipe defines
it, on fixtures: name, sonar key and issues/new URL rewritten; issue
references, provenance and detector lines kept. Without the shield the
test fails three of eight cases. Wired into Estate Rules.

…iteral

extract.sh printed the derived uuid5 in hex into CLAUDE.md, and the
deed's identity comment spelt it out too. ADR-008's strict v8 gate
(standards governance "UUID v7 conformance", owner ruling D320) rejects
both, here and in every minted repo. CLAUDE.md now shows the deed's own
typed literal, #u5"github.com/hyperpolymath/rsr-template-repo", which
says what the identifier is and follows the deed to v8. A deed whose
:repo-uuid is not a typed literal stops generation (exit 2).

Same fix as resource-algebra#8.

…v0.0.3

At ae36881 the governance reusable installs gh-actions-lock v0.1.6, which
refuses this lock's format v0.0.3, so Actions lockfile verify fails.
934b879 (standards main) installs v0.2.0. Re-pinned and relocked with
standards' propagate-workflow-pins.sh from metadatastician/standards#1254,
which reported RELOCKED. Both lock-sync gates pass, and the governance
gate's update-actions-lock.sh --verify-local passes with v0.2.0.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • observed — The changed external revision is selected by a mirror caller that passes seven explicitly named forge credentials on main pushes or manual dispatch. The scorecard caller grants security-events:write and id-token:write on scheduled or manual runs. These grants and mappings are unchanged from the PR base. The actual asset scope of the credentials and external workflow behavior were not established.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • inferred — The fixture test evaluates assignments from checked-out repository content, so modifications to that content can influence shell execution. This remains within Estate Rules' existing checkout-and-script boundary: push/pull_request triggers and contents:read permission are unchanged, and the test adds no credential mapping, external service call or production file mutation.
  • observed — The caller-level secret boundary remains explicit rather than using secrets:inherit. Secret scanning retains a job-level contents:read grant. The PR changes the selected external code revision, not these authority controls.

## Summary

The template's mint rewrote `rsr-template-repo#N` (the template's own
issue) into `resource-algebra#N`. That happened 24 times in 21 files:
mostly `#209`, the deed-clause migration, plus `#53` and `#119`. Each
now points at an issue of this repository that does not exist. This PR
puts them back.

The recipe defect itself is fixed at source in
[rsr-template-repo#238](hyperpolymath/rsr-template-repo#238).

## Changes

- Each reference is restored against the template's own copy of the file
at `df09a6c`, the commit this repository was created from. Only numbers
that copy cites were mapped back.
- The genuine references (`resource-algebra#3`, `#4`, and the
CHANGELOG's own) are untouched.
- Only comments and prose change. The two lines in
`scripts/sweep-wellknown.sh` are its help text and the commit message it
writes, both naming the template's sweep issue #119.

## RSR Quality Checklist

hyperpolymath added a commit to metadatastician/standards that referenced this pull request Oct 14, 2026
…#1258)

## Why

rsr-template-repo's julia-library archetype ships
`archetypes/julia-library/overlay/Project.toml.in`. That file names
`Test` and `Aqua` by their General-registry UUIDs under `[extras]`,
which are external identifiers.

`check-uuid-v8.sh` already exempts `[deps]`, `[weakdeps]` and `[extras]`
in a `Project.toml`. It matched files by their literal name, though, so
it scanned the `.in` template as an unknown file. That makes the strict
gate (governance "UUID v7 conformance") fail on the template itself, and
it is the last red item on
[rsr-template-repo#238](hyperpolymath/rsr-template-repo#238).

## What

- `scannable_text` strips a trailing `.in` before choosing a rule. A
mint template becomes its stem when a repository is minted from it, so
it is scanned as that stem.
- A non-Julia `.in` file gets no exemption.
- A package's own v4 `uuid =` in a `Project.toml.in` is still rejected.
- Retired `.a2ml.in` files are still skipped earlier, unchanged.

## Evidence

- `scripts/tests/uuid-v8-test.sh`: 35 passed, including three new cases:
  - the `[extras]` exemption applies in a `Project.toml.in`;
  - a v4 package uuid in a `Project.toml.in` is rejected;
  - a `[deps]` table in `deps.toml.in` is not exempt.
- Without the fix, the `[extras]` case fails (34 passed, 1 failed).
- `check-uuid-v8.sh --strict` on rsr-template-repo#238's tree exits 0
with the fix. On main it fails on `Project.toml.in`.

Once this lands, rsr-template-repo needs its standards pin moved to a
commit that includes it.

Review on #238: the typed-uuid read required exactly two spaces of
indentation and one after `:repo-uuid`. Both are free in a deed
S-expression, so any amount of either is now accepted. A space inside
the literal (`#u5 "name"`) is still refused: the deed ABNF (D308) defines
uuid5 and uuid8 as `%s"#u5" string` and `%s"#u8" string`, concatenated.

…ct.toml.in as Project.toml

standards#1258 (merged as 6a92510) makes check-uuid-v8.sh scan a `.in`
mint template under the rules of the file it becomes, so the
julia-library overlay's [extras] registry UUIDs no longer fail the
strict v8 gate. Relocked with standards main's propagate-workflow-pins.sh
(RELOCKED, 934b879 -> 6a92510).

Locally: check-uuid-v8.sh --strict . (standards main) exit 0; both
lock-sync gates and update-actions-lock.sh --verify-local (gh-actions-lock
v0.2.0) pass.

hyperpolymath added a commit to metadatastician/standards that referenced this pull request Oct 14, 2026
… becomes (#1259)

## Problem

[hyperpolymath/rsr-template-repo#238](hyperpolymath/rsr-template-repo#238)
fails **governance / UUID v7 conformance**, which is the strict v8 gate
under its frozen v7 name:

```
./archetypes/julia-library/overlay/Project.toml.in: non-v8 UUID literal (8dfed614-e22c-5e08-85e1-65c5234f0b40)
./archetypes/julia-library/overlay/Project.toml.in: non-v8 UUID literal (4c88cf16-eb10-579e-8560-4a9242c79595)
```

Those are the Julia General-registry UUIDs of `Test` and `Aqua` under
`[extras]`. `check-uuid-v8.sh` already exempts the `[deps]`,
`[weakdeps]` and `[extras]` tables of a `Project.toml`, and the whole of
a Julia Manifest, because they hold external identifiers (ADR-008:
preserve and type explicitly). It picked those rules by exact file name,
though, so the `.in` mint template that renders to `Project.toml` was
scanned as plain text.

## Change

`scannable_text()` strips one trailing `.in` before it chooses the
rules:

- A `Project.toml.in` keeps the table exemption.
- The template's own top-level `uuid =` is still checked.
- A `Manifest.toml.in` is skipped, like a Manifest.
- Any other `.in` file is scanned as before.

The job name stays "UUID v7 conformance" so that no required context
moves.

## Verification

- `scripts/tests/uuid-v8-test.sh` gains six cases, all assembled at
runtime so this repo's own gate stays green:
  - a `Project.toml.in` keeps the exemption;
  - a v4 package `uuid` in one is rejected;
  - a `Manifest.toml.in` is accepted;
  - a `[deps]` table in a non-Julia `.in` file is rejected;
  - a near-miss `Project.toml.inx` is rejected;
- the rsr-template-repo shape (v5 registry UUIDs in `[extras]`) passes
under `--strict`.
- Results: 38 of 38 pass. With the old checker, the three exemption
cases fail. `check-uuid-v8-domains-test.sh` passes 23 of 23.
- On rsr-template-repo#238's tree (`cfd3ea4`), `--strict` now exits 0.
The old checker reports exactly the two CI failures above.
- On this repo, the old and new checkers give identical output and exit
codes in both default and `--strict` mode.
- `shellcheck -s sh` is clean, and the checker runs under dash, which is
`/bin/sh` here.

## After merge

The governance job checks the validator out at the caller's pinned
standards commit (`job.workflow_sha`), so rsr-template-repo turns green
once its governance pin moves past this merge.

#239 re-pinned the six standards reusables to 934b879. This branch pins them
to 6a92510, which is newer: it also carries metadatastician/standards#1258, which
scans Project.toml.in as Project.toml. The six `uses:` conflicts keep 6a92510.

actions.lock keeps this branch's lock. #239 changed no action reference other
than the standards pin (checked: no non-standards `uses:` line differs from
0afa6c9), so this branch's lock is exact for the merged tree. It also keeps the
canonical tag refs (setup-deno v2.0.5, setup-bun v2.2.0) that standards' own
lock records at 6a92510, where main's copy had the SHA in their `ref:` field.

CHANGELOG.adoc and CLAUDE.md merged without conflict. Checked on the merged tree:
- check-lock-sync.sh, the repo's copy and standards main's: in sync;
- arrival-pack verify.sh (nickel 1.17.0): CLAUDE.md in sync with the deed;
- self_name_pass_test.sh: PASS;
- standards' check-uuid-v8.sh --strict .: clean.
