What

Three new proven-exact corpus units under corpus/provenance/reflexive/, each a bare module Test with base-library imports only (R-43), total lemmas as the warrant, and the 0/1/2 fixture triple. They are the defect classes hyperpolymath/cicd-suite#54's gates exist to refuse, stated once and firable forever:

Unit Fires when Ground truth
setup-failure-reported-as-subject-failure a gate claims FAIL while every failure it records is a setup failure (toolchain install, checkout, action input validation) — the subject was never checked, so the honest verdict is VOID plasma-parser-writer rust-ci / Cargo check + clippy + fmt, red on every run 2026-09-29 to 2026-10-14 from 'toolchain' is a required input (run 38564229091); hyperpolymath/plasma-parser-writer#105
skipped-mandatory-reported-as-pass a gate claims PASS while a job it declared mandatory concluded skipped — the skipped twin of cancelled-gate-void platform behaviour (a required check concluded skipped does not block a merge), the reason every cicd-suite gate ends in a verdict job; the manifest's warrant_class says so until a dated estate firing exists
proof-claim-without-prover a gate claims PASS while a prover the tree advertises never ran or ran over no obligations (proof theatre) the contract of standards' SPARK Theatre Gate and hyperpolymath/standards#692; cicd-suite's creusot-gate/spark-gate theatre jobs

Lemmas, named in each error-model.a2ml and checked by check_unit_ledger: firesOnSetupOnlyFail / silentOnSubjectFail / silentOnNoFailure / voidClaimNeverFires; firesOnSkippedMandatoryPass / silentOnCleanPass / optionalSkipIsNotMandatory / failedMandatoryIsNotSkipped; firesOnTheatrePass / silentOnHonestPass / unclaimedIsNotTheatre / dischargedClaimIsNotTheatre.

Registries: the three covering main entry points are allowlisted in scripts/check-escape-hatches.sh; the firing and calibration fixtures are registered in .machine_readable/testing/adversarial-content.a2ml; corpus/COUNT.a2ml is regenerated (deployed 4, fired_with_date 4, diagnosticity_complete 4, proven_exact 4, repeat_tested 4); DEBT S-9 names all four units.

Evidence

Scripted on 2026-10-19: each unit compiled three times from a clean build/ under the three-signal predicate (rc 0, zero ^Error: lines, binary present) and fired its triple identically each time — silent 0, firing 1, calibration 2. stability.a2ml carries the timestamps and the Test.idr sha256.

From the repository root: check-doc-facts.sh corpus compiles and fires all four units; corpus-selftest passes its 20 trees (with en_US.UTF-8 present for the collation tree); check-doc-facts.sh source and check-escape-hatches.sh pass.

Stated, not claimed

The authoring machine had Idris2 0.8.0 only; the repository pins 0.7.0. Every new stability.a2ml says the first compile at the pinned toolchain is this PR's corpus-check job, and [reproduce]/[replicate] remain no (DEBT S-9). If corpus-check is red here on something 0.7.0-specific, that is the first finding of this PR and I will fix it here.

…-suite#54

Three new proven-exact units under corpus/provenance/reflexive/, each a
bare `module Test` with base-library imports only, total lemmas as the
warrant, and the 0/1/2 fixture triple:

* setup-failure-reported-as-subject-failure — a gate claims FAIL while
  every failure it records is a setup failure (toolchain install,
  checkout, action input validation): the subject was never checked, so
  the honest verdict is VOID. Ground truth: plasma-parser-writer's
  `rust-ci / Cargo check + clippy + fmt`, red on every run 2026-09-29 to
  2026-10-14 from `'toolchain' is a required input` (run 38564229091).
  Lemmas firesOnSetupOnlyFail, silentOnSubjectFail, silentOnNoFailure,
  voidClaimNeverFires.
* skipped-mandatory-reported-as-pass — a gate claims PASS while a job it
  declared mandatory concluded `skipped`; the skipped twin of
  cancelled-gate-void. Warrant class is platform-behaviour (a required
  check concluded `skipped` does not block a merge — the reason every
  cicd-suite gate ends in a verdict job), stated as such in the manifest
  until a dated estate firing exists. Lemmas firesOnSkippedMandatoryPass,
  silentOnCleanPass, optionalSkipIsNotMandatory, failedMandatoryIsNotSkipped.
* proof-claim-without-prover — a gate claims PASS while a prover the tree
  advertises never ran or ran over no obligations (proof theatre; the
  contract of standards' SPARK Theatre Gate and standards#692). Lemmas
  firesOnTheatrePass, silentOnHonestPass, unclaimedIsNotTheatre,
  dischargedClaimIsNotTheatre.

Evidence, scripted: each unit compiled three times from a clean build/
under the three-signal predicate (rc 0, zero ^Error: lines, binary
present) and fired its triple identically each time — silent 0, firing
1, calibration 2 — on 2026-10-19 (stability.a2ml carries the dates and
the Test.idr sha256). The toolchain was Idris2 0.8.0, the only one on the
authoring machine; the repository pins 0.7.0, so every stability record
says the first run at the pinned toolchain is this PR's corpus-check job,
not a claim the record makes.

Harness, from the repository root: `check-doc-facts.sh corpus` compiles
and fires all four units; `corpus-selftest` passes its 20 trees (with an
en_US.UTF-8 locale present for the collation tree); `corpus-count`
regenerated corpus/COUNT.a2ml (deployed 4, fired_with_date 4,
diagnosticity_complete 4, proven_exact 4, repeat_tested 4);
`check-doc-facts.sh source` and check-escape-hatches.sh pass. The three
new `covering main` entry points are allowlisted in check-escape-hatches.sh;
the firing and calibration fixtures are registered in
.machine_readable/testing/adversarial-content.a2ml; DEBT S-9 now names
all four units and the 0.7.0 run still owed.

  • .github/workflows/actions.lock is excluded by !**/*.lock

CodeRabbit blocks several paths by default. You can override this behavior by explicitly including those paths in the path filters. For example, including **/dist/** will override the default block on the dist directory, by removing the pattern from both the lists.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added three checks for setup failures reported as subject failures, skipped mandatory jobs reported as passing, and claimed verification without meaningful proof activity.
    • Checks distinguish detected defects from valid reports; malformed or incomplete reports are reported as unchecked.
  • Documentation
    • Added guidance on the checks, accepted report formats, outcomes and known limits.
  • Testing
    • Added firing, silent and calibration examples, with repeated-run results recorded.
    • CI now runs all four corpus checks and verifies the generated corpus count.

The change adds three Idris2 provenance corpus units with checkers, fixtures, contracts, and stability records. It updates corpus counts and firing records, records CI and reproduction status, extends the checker allowlist, and changes CI workflow cache keys and reusable-workflow references.

Changes: Provenance corpus units

Layer / File(s) Summary
Check proof claims against prover activity
corpus/provenance/reflexive/proof-claim-without-prover/*
Adds a checker that fires for a PASS report claiming a prover that did not run or ran without obligations. It includes strict parsing, proof lemmas, fixtures, contracts, and stability records.
Separate setup failures from subject failures
corpus/provenance/reflexive/setup-failure-reported-as-subject-failure/*
Adds a checker that fires when a FAIL report records setup failures but no subject failures. It includes strict parsing, proof lemmas, fixtures, contracts, and stability records.
Detect skipped mandatory jobs reported as passing
corpus/provenance/reflexive/skipped-mandatory-reported-as-pass/*
Adds a checker that fires when a PASS report contains a skipped mandatory job. Optional skips and other verdicts do not fire; invalid or incomplete reports return exit status 2.
Register and account for the new units
.machine_readable/testing/adversarial-content.a2ml, corpus/COUNT.a2ml, DEBT.adoc, scripts/check-escape-hatches.sh
Updates firing records and corpus counts for the three units. S-9 records CI execution and outstanding reproduction; the allowlist adds their main functions.

CI workflow updates

Layer / File(s) Summary
Update CI caches and reusable workflows
.github/workflows/ci.yml, .github/workflows/corpus-check.yml, .github/workflows/governance.yml, .github/workflows/hypatia-scan.yml, .github/workflows/scorecard.yml, .github/workflows/secret-scanner.yml
The Idris2 cache keys now include the installed Chez Scheme version. Reusable-workflow references were updated; the Hypatia workflow maps its scan secret explicitly, and the secret-scanner workflow no longer inherits secrets.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Change: Other

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to e112c

The new corpus checks expand detection of misleading proof and CI verdicts, while Chez-version cache keys avoid reusing incompatible builds. No concrete merge-blocking failure is established; the remaining reproduction work is documented follow-up.

37-37: 🎯 Functional Correctness

calibration/empty-report.txt is tracked in all three reflexive units, including setup-failure-reported-as-subject-failure. The missing-fixture premise is false, so this change is not required.

corpus/provenance/reflexive/skipped-mandatory-reported-as-pass/README.adoc: 1

55-55: 🎯 Functional Correctness

The fixture is tracked and empty, so the command tests an empty payload. The proposed concern does not apply.

17-20: LGTM!

49-51: LGTM!

.machine_readable/testing/adversarial-content.a2ml: 1

21-26: 🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration

The proposed cross-ledger join is not supported. The adversarial register is a scanner exclusion manifest. corpus/COUNT.a2ml is generated independently from a sorted corpus walk. No consumer joins the two files by uN, so the different order does not establish an integrity defect.

…ctions

* ci.yml and corpus-check.yml: ubuntu-latest moved to 26.04 with a newer
  Chez Scheme, and the cached idris2.so fasl from the old Chez does not
  load (run 39254816071). The cache key now carries the chezscheme package
  version, as hypatia#930 does, so a Chez change is a cache miss, not a
  broken toolchain.
* governance, hypatia-scan, scorecard and secret-scanner call standards at
  75bd599, the first main commit whose actions.lock GitHub accepts;
  hypatia-scan passes HYPATIA_SCAN_PAT by name and secret-scanner passes no
  secret (standards#1108 §6b).
* Three documentation corrections from review: `obligations some` is read as
  "at least one discharged" (as Test.idr does); the skipped-mandatory README
  describes the firing fixture's actual difference from the silent one; DEBT
  S-9 no longer claims the corpus gate and COUNT generator are missing — the
  remaining debt is a second-machine reproduction.

`gh actions-lock verify` (governance / Actions lockfile verify, visible for
the first time now that governance resolves at 75bd599) reported ci.yml
using actions/upload-artifact@v7.0.2 against a lock pinned at v7.0.1, and
push-email-notify.yml using hyperpolymath/smtp-notify-action@v0.5.0 against
v0.3.0 — drift that predates this PR. The two records are copied verbatim
from the `gh actions-lock` output already committed in sibling repositories
(hypatia, gitbot-fleet, cicd-squabbler: same ref, commit, owner_id and
repo_id); the superseded v7.0.1 and v0.3.0 records had no other caller and
are pruned, as the verifier asked.

Owner Author

Governance on e112c42 ran for the first time (the old 8435558 pin died at Set up job), and two of its jobs are red for reasons that predate this PR:

  • governance / Actions lockfile verify — gh actions-lock verify found the lock behind the workflows: ci.yml uses actions/upload-artifact@v7.0.2 but the lock pinned v7.0.1, and push-email-notify.yml uses hyperpolymath/smtp-notify-action@v0.5.0 against a v0.3.0 record. Fixed in caabd0c: the two records are copied verbatim from the gh actions-lock output already committed in hypatia, gitbot-fleet and cicd-squabbler (same ref, commit, owner_id, repo_id), the superseded records are pruned, and the lock was checked locally against every workflow's uses: set. The extension itself is not available in this session; if you would rather regenerate, gh actions-lock on this branch should be a no-op.
  • governance / Validate Hypatia Baseline — standing down. The three "new" findings are one fact: the scanner governance builds (hypatia 51ab649) does not know lockfile version: 'v0.0.3', which every current gh actions-lock writes, so it reports invalid_actions_lock twice and a derived Pinned-Dependencies scorecard finding. The fix is fix(actions-lock): accept lockfile v0.0.3 (github.com dependencies) hypatia#928's v0.0.3 support, which rides feat(rules): detect the three workflow-pin defect classes behind the estate's dead Rust CI hypatia#931; it is scanner code and cannot be ported into this repository. Once #931 merges, this caller can pass hypatia-ref: at that commit (the reusable exposes the input) and the three findings clear. I am not baselining them — that would acknowledge a scanner gap as repository risk.

Everything else on this head is green, including SonarCloud and the corpus gate.
