Summary

Appends an "Owner norms (2026-10-14)" section to .claude/CLAUDE.md for agent sessions in this repository. echidna and proof-burrower get the same text.

Changes

  • Decisions are asked with the selector tool.
  • Work lands as stacked PRs.
  • Findings are fixed at source before any baseline entry. The exemption ratchet rejects ledger growth unless a Ratchet-exception: line names that ledger.
  • The format standards point at their normative source in hyperpolymath/standards rather than restating it:
    • 3-practice/YAML-POLICY.adoc §3.4: KYAML, .kyaml (D280, D307, D293);
    • the workflow gate in standards#1025;
    • 3-practice/JSON-POLICY.adoc: I-JSON as JCS plus a final LF (D306);
    • ADR-008: UUID v8 profiles T and C (D305, D305b, D320).
  • The UUID rule is scoped: src/ids.rs still mints records as v7 and content ids as v8 over JCS bytes. Profiles T and C, and the ban on new v7 minting, apply once the ids.rs migration lands. This is the wording the owner accepted on proof-burrower#111.

The CI fix this PR used to carry (ported from #180: the echidna_core::trust::axiom_tracker import in tests/live_echidna.rs and quinn-proto 0.11.19) is now on main via #180 itself, and the workflow-linter change via #181. Since the merge of main (0c7f846), this PR changes .claude/CLAUDE.md only.

The repo's migration to these formats, including the store's content ids moving to profile C, follows in its own stacked PRs.

…YAML / I-JSON+JCS / UUID v8

Owner norms of 2026-10-14 for agent sessions in this repo: decisions are
asked with the selector tool, work lands as stacked PRs, and findings are
fixed at source before any baseline/ledger entry. The format standards
point at their normative source in hyperpolymath/standards: YAML-POLICY
§3.4 (KYAML, .kyaml; D280/D307/D293), the workflow gate in
standards#1025, JSON-POLICY (I-JSON as JCS + LF; D306) and ADR-008
(UUID v8 profiles T and C; D305/D305b/D320).

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Added guidance on requesting decisions, structuring reviewable changes, and addressing findings at source.
    • Documented estate-wide formatting conventions and exceptions.

The repository guidance adds owner norms for decision requests, pull request stacking, and findings. It also sets estate-wide requirements for YAML, workflows, JSON, UUIDs, and formats retained for uncontrolled consumers.

Changes: Repository guidance

Layer / File(s) Summary
Owner norms
.claude/CLAUDE.md
Adds guidance to use structured options when requesting decisions, submit independently reviewable stacked pull requests, and fix findings at their source.
Format requirements
.claude/CLAUDE.md
Adds requirements for YAML and workflow formats, JSON serialisation, UUID profiles, and documenting exceptions for formats retained due to uncontrolled consumers.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~8 minutes

Change: Other

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 58130

The guidance overstates the governance rule and could confuse maintainers handling a declared exception. This is a localized documentation correction, not a major merge risk.

Before / after behavior

  • observed — Modified behavior in .claude/CLAUDE.md: Adds owner norms covering structured decision requests, stacked PRs, and fixing findings at their source rather than expanding baselines or ledgers.
  • observed — Modified behavior in .claude/CLAUDE.md: Adds estate-wide format requirements: KYAML for YAML and workflows subject to the specified gate and lockfile restrictions; JCS-serialised I-JSON with one final LF for JSON; UUID v8 with distinct time-ordered and content-id profiles; and retaining other formats only for uncontrolled consumers, with the reason recorded beside the file.

ℹ️ No failing CI checks found.

No CI/CD pipeline failures were detected for the current commit. If other checks (security scans, code quality, etc.) are failing, those require separate attention.

scripts/check-exemption-ratchet.sh in standards rejects growth of a ledger
unless a commit message or the PR body carries a `Ratchet-exception:` line
naming that ledger. The norm said it rejects all growth.

ids.rs still mints records as UUIDv7 and content ids as UUIDv8 over JCS
bytes without a profile C domain. Stating profiles T and C as the active
rule would have an agent mint ids that break the current contract. This
matches the wording the owner accepted on proof-burrower#111.

…proto

Rust CI has been red on main since #174 re-pointed the trust kernel from
echidna-core-spark to echidna-core but left tests/live_echidna.rs importing
`echidna_core_spark::axiom_tracker`. `cargo check --all-targets` fails on
it. The type now lives at `echidna_core::trust::axiom_tracker::DangerLevel`,
the path src/trust/axiom_tracker.rs already uses.

Cargo audit fails on quinn-proto 0.11.16 (RUSTSEC-2026-0338..0342, fixed
in >= 0.11.18). `cargo update -p quinn-proto --precise 0.11.19` changes
only that entry in Cargo.lock.

Locally: cargo check --locked --all-targets, cargo fmt --check,
cargo clippy --locked --all-targets -- -D warnings, cargo audit (warnings
only), and the CI test set (integration_tests, lifecycle, property_tests,
seam_test, smoke) all pass.

Both sides reworded the same line. Keep the wording that names the
ledger: check-exemption-ratchet.sh accepts only a `Ratchet-exception:`
line that names the ledger it lets grow. echidna and proof-burrower carry
the same text.

…proto (#180)

## Summary

Turns main's red Rust CI and cargo-audit jobs green. The same commit is
ported into #179, so this PR has no diff left once #179 merges.

## Changes

- `tests/live_echidna.rs`:
- #174 re-pointed the trust kernel from `echidna-core-spark` to
`echidna-core`, but this test still imported
`echidna_core_spark::axiom_tracker::DangerLevel`, so `cargo check
--all-targets` failed and `rust-ci / Cargo check + clippy + fmt` has
been red on main since.
- The type now lives at
`echidna_core::trust::axiom_tracker::DangerLevel`, the path
`src/trust/axiom_tracker.rs` already uses.
- `Cargo.lock`:
- quinn-proto 0.11.16 → 0.11.19 (RUSTSEC-2026-0338..0342, fixed in ≥
0.11.18), via `cargo update -p quinn-proto --precise 0.11.19`.
  - No other entry changes.
- This fixes `rust-ci / Cargo audit (security)` and `Dependency audit`.

## Verification (local)

- `cargo check --locked --all-targets`: pass.
- `cargo fmt --all -- --check`: pass.
- `cargo clippy --locked --all-targets -- -D warnings`: pass.
- `cargo audit`: no vulnerabilities. Three advisory warnings remain:
event-listener RUSTSEC-2026-0221 (unsound), and chacha20 and spin, which
are yanked.
- `cargo test --locked --test integration_tests --test lifecycle --test
property_tests --test seam_test --test smoke`, the CI test set: all pass
(32 + 23 + 12 + 15 + 8 and the doc-filtered runs).
