More Information

homebridge-generac is a successor to homebridge-mobilelink, which is on the verified list but no longer maintained. It exposes Generac standby generators on a Mobile Link account to HomeKit.

What it offers beyond homebridge-mobilelink:

  1. Sign-in from the Homebridge settings page, including Generac's SMS verification code step, with automatic token refresh. No CLI or TTY step is needed.
  2. Running, Fault, Maintenance Due, and Exercising sensors per generator, with the weekly exercise detected so users can automate on it.
  3. Low battery reporting with a configurable threshold.
  4. An Attention needed sensor that trips when the account must be reconnected, instead of failing silently.
  5. Per-generator rename overrides; non-generator apparatus (such as linked Ecobee thermostats) are skipped cleanly.

dynamic platform, custom Plugin Settings GUI, CI on Node 20, 22, and 24, 264 unit tests, and releases published from GitHub Actions via npm trusted publishing (OIDC), with no stored tokens. Credentials and state are stored only in the Homebridge storage directory. I run it on my own generator.

I am unsure if or how the verification status is handled or if it can be transferred form homebridge-mobilelink.
