Repository navigation
Add Simplified and Traditional Chinese - #710
Conversation
Both Chinese variants come with the whole interface (2,861 sentences), the 17 chapters of the user guide and a README of their own. - zh-CN and zh-TW registered as languages, each catalogue fetched only when chosen. - zh-Hans, zh-Hant, zh-TW, zh-HK and zh-MO are recognised for the first paint and for the language choice. - Language menu order, guide links, README navigation and the video list follow. - Tests cover the new catalogues, guides, detection and the boot script.

@crazykay thank you, two languages with the full guide is a big piece of work. I will go through it and test it here. One thing I would like to know: how were the Chinese texts made, and has a native speaker read them? If they were machine translated, that is fine too, I would just mark it that way and ask the community to proof-read. If you'd like to support the project, a small donation is very welcome. |
I am a native Chinese speaker. The Chinese translation was done using a large AI model. I did some proofreading myself, but I couldn't cover everything. |

@crazykay Thank you for the details. I tested it here with the other changes and it works. One change I made: I marked both languages as not complete, like Hungarian and Spanish. Sentences added later then show in English until the Chinese ones follow in a small pull request, so a release never waits for them. And because the texts are machine translated and only partly read, I will ask the community to proof-read them. |
