Summary

A second view in its own window

Adds a button to the camera bar (picture-in-picture icon) that opens a popup window showing the same design through its own, independent camera — e.g. watch the front while working from above.

  • Always in sync: the popup renders the editor's live scene with its own WebGL renderer, so every change appears immediately. The view is read-only, editing stays in the main window; handles and guides aren't drawn in the popup.
  • Its own view controls: mouse, view cube and the usual view keys (1–6, F/Shift+F, Home, O, +/−, arrows to orbit, Ctrl/Cmd+arrows to pan) move only the popup's camera. F frames the main window's selection. Saved views are also supported!
  • Its own camera bar: Home, center on selection, zoom in/out, ortho/perspective and hide workplane — independent of the main window. It collapses, follows the toolbar size, and the view cube follows the View cube position setting.
  • Window: loads /view.html (offline-cached) titled "Layerling view"; size and position are remembered (default 960×720); closes with the editor. Not offered on phones/tablets.
  • The feature is not supported on mobile devices, the icon will not appear in the camera bar.

Tested in Chrome (Windows/Mac), Edge, Firefox (Windows only) and Safari.

@gogades thank you, a second view in its own window is a good idea, and the video shows it well. I went through the diff and the checks are green. I will merge it and try it here, so it goes out with the next release. Splitting the camera and the view cube out of the viewport is a big step, so I will also click through the main window to make sure nothing there changed.
