Status: Pending; depends on the first three beta gates for its declared support scope. No release date is set. Scope: publish a versioned beta prerelease with build or binary installation instructions, configuration examples, startup/shutdown and rollback guidance, checksums for distributed artifacts, known limitations, and a reproducible bug-report procedure including diagnostics. Acceptance: a tester can install and run the exact release, return to the previous compositor, and report a failure using the supplied instructions. CI passes for the release commit, artifacts are verified, and steps 1-3 are satisfied for every advertised environment. The current 0.1.0 prototype is not a beta release. No due dateStatus: Pending. Scope: exercise documented scenarios with actual window managers on Xorg and XLibre, recording server version, window manager, GPU/driver, configuration, and exact commit. Measure idle and active CPU, memory, and frame pacing; fix failures for the environments proposed for beta support. Acceptance: publish a compatibility matrix with evidence for each advertised environment, reproducible measurement baselines, and remaining limitations. Untested Intel/AMD/NVIDIA and server combinations remain unqualified. Xvfb results alone do not establish desktop or hardware support. No due dateStatus: Pending. Scope: RandR resolution changes, monitor connection/disconnection, recovery from supported presentation failures, and repeated resize resource accounting. Record the server, monitor arrangement, configuration, and exact tested commit. Acceptance: output recovers after every supported transition, presentation continues, and repeated operations do not cause unbounded memory or X-server resource growth. Include physical hotplug evidence where supported; fixed-screen Xvfb geometry tests do not complete this milestone. Completed: client/frame lifecycle tracking, malformed property validation, rapid map/unmap/destroy sequences, override-redirect popup removal, fullscreen-sized geometry transitions, interrupted fade continuity, destroyed-window stacking, extreme/off-screen shape and blur clipping, and destruction before capture, shape, and geometry queries. Verification: 44 passing tests (6 unit, 3 CLI, 35 X11), formatting, Clippy with warnings denied, and release build. The new fade and shape defects have regressions that failed before their fixes. Coverage uses Xvfb 21.1.24 at 320x240x24 with XRender and Present 1.2; real window-manager and GPU qualification belongs to step 3. Remaining: deterministically exercise destruction between successive capture requests, including pixmap naming, picture creation, and event subscription, without suppressing unrelated X11 errors. Acceptance: reproduced defects have failing-before/passing-after regressions; covered scenarios preserve correct pixels and keep the compositor alive; the full suite, formatting, Clippy, and release build pass. Keep this milestone open until remaining scenarios are exercised.
