Closes the three items left open after #50 and #51 wrapped the high/medium/low audit findings:

  • go vet copylocks in csync.Map: the value-receiver JSONSchemaAlias copied the map's own sync.RWMutex. The method is removed; the config JSON schema is now produced by a Reflector.Mapper in the schema command. Side benefit: provider entries now validate against ProviderConfig via a clean $ref, and the generated schema no longer contains a slash-bearing $defs key that broke JSON Pointer resolution.
  • Dead egress config in fetch/download: NewFetchTool/NewDownloadTool now take the config, so their no-client fallback builds a fail-closed secured client that honors allow_raw_ips / ip_allow_list instead of silently ignoring them.
  • Security docs drift: stale internal/ file references corrected to pkg/, and the startup symlink-resolution section now describes the actual behavior (resolution runs after config parsing, before ConfigStore construction).

Embedded docs corpus regenerated (go generate ./pkg/phosphordocs); TestDriftGuard, TestSchemaNoBrokenRefs, and TestSchemaProvidersHasAdditionalProperties pass.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Generated schemas now represent provider configuration maps as objects, improving how these settings are described.
    • Downloads and fetches use configured HTTP security settings when creating their own clients.
  • Documentation
    • Security guides now reference current locations for hardening guidance, tests, and commands. They also clarify when workspace-root symlink resolution occurs and what happens if resolution fails.

…udit

Completes the audit follow-up left open after #50 and #51:

- csync.Map no longer exposes a value-receiver JSONSchemaAlias that
copies its own mutex (go vet copylocks). The config JSON schema is
now produced by a Reflector.Mapper in the schema command, which also
fixes the slash-containing $defs key that broke JSON Pointer $ref
  resolution for provider entries.
- NewFetchTool/NewDownloadTool accept the config so their no-client
fallback builds a fail-closed secured client that honors
allow_raw_ips and ip_allow_list instead of silently ignoring them.
- Security docs no longer point at stale internal/ paths, and the
startup symlink-resolution section describes what the code actually
does (resolution happens after config parsing, before store
  construction).

📝 Walkthrough

Security documentation now references pkg locations. Schema generation maps csync generic maps to ProviderConfig additional properties. Fetch and download tools pass configuration to secured HTTP client creation when no client is supplied.

Changes: Security documentation updates

Layer / File(s) Summary
Security documentation paths and workspace resolution
docs/security/ENVIRONMENT_HARDENING.md, docs/security/SECURITY_VALIDATION_TEST_SUITE.md, docs/security/WORKSPACE_HARDENING.md
Documentation references implementation, test, and command locations under pkg/. Workspace hardening documentation specifies that symlink resolution occurs after config parsing and before ConfigStore construction and provider wiring, with fallback to the original path if resolution fails.

Schema reflection

Layer / File(s) Summary
Map schema mapping and validation
internal/cmd/schema.go, internal/cmd/schema_test.go, pkg/csync/maps.go
The schema command uses a custom reflector for csync generic maps. The tests use that reflector, and Map.JSONSchemaAlias was removed.

Fetch and download client configuration

Layer / File(s) Summary
Configuration propagation to secured clients
pkg/agent/tools/download.go, pkg/agent/tools/fetch.go, pkg/agent/coordinator.go, pkg/agent/common_test.go, pkg/agent/tools/url_secret_guard_test.go, pkg/agent/tools/workspace_hardening_test.go
Fetch and download constructors accept configuration and pass it to NewSecuredHTTPClient when no client is supplied. Agent call sites and tests pass the updated arguments.

CodeRabbit flagged that the providers mapper emits
$ref: "#/$defs/ProviderConfig" while the mapper short-circuits the
reflector before the value type is traversed, so ProviderConfig never
lands in $defs and validators cannot resolve the reference. Add a
newConfigSchema() helper that reflects ProviderConfig with
ExpandedStruct and promotes its nested definitions to the root, and
point both the schema command and the schema tests at it so they
validate the exact document the command emits.

Also quote the -run regex in the hardening docs so the documented
test command is copy-pasteable, and clarify that the workspace config
merge happens after ConfigStore construction.

@CodeRabbit Re: the docstring-coverage pre-merge check (15.38% vs the 80% threshold) — this is a Go repository, not Python. Go has no docstrings; the idiom is godoc comments, and the functions touched by this diff carry them (see newSchemaReflector and newConfigSchema in internal/cmd/schema.go). The 80% docstring threshold doesn't map to Go conventions, so we're treating this check as not applicable. If there's a CodeRabbit config knob to skip docstring checks for Go paths, we'll set it on our side.

@tmaiaroto Confirmed: newSchemaReflector and newConfigSchema in internal/cmd/schema.go both have Go documentation comments. The reported coverage score alone does not establish that these functions lack documentation.

You can disable the coverage check in .coderabbit.yaml:

reviews:
  pre_merge_checks:
    docstrings:
      mode: off

The current schema supports only a repository-wide setting for this check. It has no Go-specific or path-specific exclusions. Do not exclude Go files with path_filters, because that would exclude them from code review too.

Your current setting is mode: warning with threshold: 80. The snippet disables only the coverage check; it leaves code review and docstring generation unchanged. I have not changed the configuration or the posted check.

You are interacting with an AI system.

Go has no docstrings; godoc comments enforced by our own linters are
the Go idiom, so the Python-centric coverage gate flags every Go diff
with a false positive. Verified against the CodeRabbit configuration
reference: reviews.pre_merge_checks.docstrings.mode: "off" is the
supported toggle.
