    This could be considered a bug rather than feature request as the latest version of Protobuf and Cloud client libraries are not compatible.

    @psalaberria002

    Has there been any progress on this?

    @ferstlf

    This is also blocking usage of grpcio-status with protobuf==7.34.0 since grpcio-status requires googleapis-common-protos which requires protobuf<7.0.0

    I filed a separate issue with gRPC because the grpcio-status package currently has the same wierd requirement. It directly requires protobuf<7.0.0

    @mstuy

    @parthea Is there an ETA when google-cloud-python will support 7.34? Which release?

    Hi @mstuy, Protobuf 7.x is already supported. I'm going to go ahead and close this bug. If you're encountering a specific issue, please open a new bug.
