flb_log_create() sets the calling thread's worker context to a worker it allocates, and flb_log_destroy() released that worker without clearing the reference. Later log calls in the same thread, such as from a second library context created after the first one was destroyed, read the released worker. Signed-off-by: Eduardo Silva <eduardo@chronosphere.io>

Marshal destruction to the creator thread or use synchronized cross-thread
invalidation to prevent later flb_log_check() or logging calls from accessing
freed state.

official Fluent Bit C API flb_destroy thread safety thread affinity documentation
💡 Result:
**Official Fluent Bit documentation does not specify that `flb_destroy()` is thread-safe or require it to run on a particular thread.** The C API guide says to call `flb_stop()` before destroying the context, and that stopping allows up to five seconds to flush and release resources; it does not state a thread-affinity rule. ([docs.fluentbit.io](https://docs.fluentbit.io/manual/4.0/fluent-bit-for-developers/library_api))
The current `master` header declares `void flb_destroy(flb_ctx_t *ctx)`, but likewise provides no thread-safety or affinity guarantee. ([github.com](https://github.com/fluent/fluent-bit/blob/master/include/fluent-bit/flb_lib.h)) So the supported guidance is **stop, then destroy**; whether destruction may safely race with other calls—or must happen on a specific thread—remains undocumented. As a conservative practice, stop the engine and ensure no other thread is using the context before calling `flb_destroy()`.

Protect the creator thread’s worker before freeing it.
flb_log_destroy() clears TLS only on the thread that calls it. If thread B destroys a context created on thread A, A retains log->worker, but line 1367 frees it. A later flb_log_check() or log call can dereference the freed worker, config, or log context. Make destruction run on the creator thread, or add synchronized cross-thread invalidation before freeing the worker.

Problem
flb_log_create()creates a worker context for the calling thread and storesit in the thread's
flb_worker_ctx.flb_log_destroy()released that workerbut left the reference behind. Any later log call in the same thread read
released memory, for example a second library context created in the thread
after the first one was destroyed.
This is what
flb-it-input_chunkreports under Valgrind: one test creates anddestroys a log context, and the next test's
flb_start()reads the releasedworker in
flb_log_check()(112 invalid reads, plus leaks of the recordslogged through it).
Change
flb_log_destroy()clears the thread's worker reference when it points tothe worker being released. With no worker, log calls already fall back to
printing errors and warnings only.
Testing
destroy_clears_thread_workercase intests/internal/log.c. It failson
masterand passes with this change.valgrind --leak-check=full build/bin/flb-it-input_chunk: no errors, downfrom 112 invalid reads and 2 definite leaks.
