The community seems to be moving towards asdf for package management, and away from using rvm/pyenv/nvm/pgvm separately.
If we:
- install asdf in our image
- use it to install several commonly used versions of each of the above tools
- include a
.tool-versions file in every project
Will it automatically select the right version of everything upon opening a Gitpod/Codespace workspace?
Will it allow for installing new versions of things (and persist them)? I imagine no in Gitpod, but maybe in Codespaces?
