INTER-2592: docs: explain when Android apps must declare the Fingerprint Maven repository - #207

…pository The plugin adds the repository to the project. Gradle ignores or rejects project repositories when settings use PREFER_SETTINGS or FAIL_ON_PROJECT_REPOS. https://docs.gradle.org/current/userguide/centralizing_repositories.html
Tested with the example app on Flutter 3.49 and AGP 9: - FAIL_ON_PROJECT_REPOS fails in the Flutter Gradle plugin itself, so no Flutter app can use it - PREFER_SETTINGS with the Flutter engine repository fails to resolve com.fingerprint.android:sdk until the Fingerprint repository is added

The plugin adds
maven.fpregistry.ioto the app's project repositories (android/build.gradle). WithrepositoriesMode = PREFER_SETTINGS, Gradle ignores project repositories, so the app must declare it in settings. The default Flutter template doesn't set this mode.Tested with the example app (Flutter 3.49, AGP 9)
FAIL_ON_PROJECT_REPOS: fails indev.flutter.flutter-gradle-pluginitself, so it isn't usable with Flutter at all. Not documented.PREFER_SETTINGS+google(),mavenCentral(), Flutter engine repo: fails withCould not find any matches for com.fingerprint.android:sdk:[4.1.0, 4.2.0).maven.fpregistry.io: builds.Discussion point: Kotlin DSL only
The snippet uses
settings.gradle.kts, the default for new Flutter apps. Groovy users can translate the one line.
