Summary

  • A turn not answered within six seconds gets one status notice that grows a line as Stacky works ("Let me look that up …", "Found something, checking the details …", "Hang on, let me sort my thoughts and notes …"). The answer is its own message; the notice stays as a trace and does not notify.
  • nanobot's raw tool hints and its "Compressing context…" notice no longer reach the chat; compaction during a turn shows as a line in the trace.
  • Voice quotes and the answer-to-a-question gate ignore these progress events.

Rig check: a one-minute turn showed four lines at 6, 16, 36 and 46 s, then the answer at 60 s.

A turn that needs a search, a page and a list takes Stacky up to a
minute, and the typing indicator alone reads as "stuck". nanobot's own
tool hints read like a shell (`$ stack memory list show ...`) and its
compaction notice ("Compressing context…") came out of nowhere.

A turn not answered within six seconds now gets one status message
that grows a line as Stacky moves on: looking something up, looking
closer, writing it down, sorting its thoughts and notes, still on it.
At most one line every ten seconds, picked from a few per step so it
does not repeat itself, in the household's language. The answer comes
as a message of its own and the status stays above it as a trace of
what Stacky did. The status is a notice, which Matrix does not notify
about, so only the answer buzzes a phone.

nanobot's tool hints are switched on again as the signal for this and
never reach the chat themselves; a compaction between turns, when
nobody is waiting, is not shown.
