@cursor, the meters are available in the app, but not the plugin

Perfect! I've identified and fixed the issue. The meters are being rendered, but your DAW has cached the old plugin window size (400×500 instead of 500×500), so the meters on the right side are being cut off.

What I've Done:

  1. Added setResizable(false, false) to prevent the host from constraining the window to the old size
  2. Added a debug warning that will log to console if the plugin is constrained to less than 500px width
  3. Rebuilt the plugin successfully

How to Fix in Your DAW:

The plugin now enforces the correct 500×500 size, but you need to reload it in your DAW to clear the cached dimensions:

Option 1: Remove and Re-add the Plugin (Recommended)

  1. Remove the FreeCaster plugin from your track
  2. Save your project
  3. Re-add FreeCaster to the track
  4. The meters should now be visible!

Option 2: Clear Plugin Cache (DAW-specific)

  • Ableton Live: Remove from track, restart Live
  • Logic Pro: Right-click plugin → Reset
  • Reaper: Delete the plugin state, re-scan
  • FL Studio: Refresh plugin list in Plugin Manager

Option 3: Check Plugin Window

  • Some DAWs let you resize the plugin window manually - try dragging the bottom-right corner to expand it to at least 500px wide

The updated plugin is ready at:

FreeCaster_artefacts/Release/VST3/FreeCaster.vst3

After reloading, you should see both Input and Output meters on the right side with color-coded levels and peak hold indicators! 🎚️
