Arduino Traffic Lights

Arduino traffic light simulation with LEDs

A simple Arduino-based traffic light simulation programmed using the Arduino IDE. This project demonstrates basic control of LEDs to mimic real-world traffic light sequences (red, yellow, green), perfect for beginners learning about electronics, programming, and timing control.

Features

  • Standard traffic light sequence: Red → Green → Yellow → Red
  • Adjustable timing for each light
  • Easy-to-understand code, ideal for learning Arduino basics
  • Can be expanded for intersections or pedestrian signals

Components Used

  • Arduino board (Uno, Nano, etc.)
  • 3 LEDs (Red, Yellow, Green)
  • 3 resistors (1KΩ recommended)
  • Breadboard and jumper wires

How to Use

  1. Connect the LEDs to the Arduino as described in the code.
  2. Upload the traffic_lights.ino file using the Arduino IDE.
  3. Watch the LEDs cycle through the traffic light pattern.
