Summary

  • Adds jc (kellyjonbrazil/jc, converts command output to JSON) to home.packages in nix/home.nix, beside jq.
  • nixpkgs top-level attribute jc (toPythonApplication python3Packages.jc): 1.25.4 on nixos-25.05 (the channel nix/README.md documents), 1.25.6 on 25.11 / 26.05, 1.26.0 on unstable.
  • Drops the hard "38 names" count from the package-set comment. The set mirrors Fedora's list, and a fixed count goes stale on every addition.

This is step 1 of the fleet ratchet: the OS repos install jc first. Core then adds the detection line, the core-doctor data / net row and the PORTING-MATRIX row.

Test plan

  • nix-parse CI job (test/check-nix.sh; nix-instantiate is not installed locally, so it was skipped here)
  • Confirmed jc = with python3Packages; toPythonApplication jc; in pkgs/top-level/all-packages.nix on nixos-25.05

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Adds the nixpkgs top-level `jc` (toPythonApplication python3Packages.jc)
beside jq in home.packages: 1.25.4 on the documented nixos-25.05 channel,
1.25.6 on 25.11/26.05, 1.26.0 on unstable. First step of the fleet
ratchet: the OS repos install it, then Core adds the detection line,
the core-doctor data/net row and the PORTING-MATRIX row.

Also drops the "38 names" count from the package-set comment; it
mirrors Fedora's list, and a hard count drifts on every addition.
