This pull request introduces a comprehensive integration test suite for Tandoor, including GitHub Actions workflow automation, new integration tests, and updates to development tooling and dependencies. The main focus is on enabling automated compatibility checks with Tandoor across supported versions and improving developer experience with enhanced pre-commit hooks and dependency management.

Integration Testing and Automation:

  • Added a new GitHub Actions workflow (.github/workflows/tandoor-integration.yml) to automatically run integration tests for Tandoor on push, pull request, manual dispatch, and a weekly schedule. The workflow determines supported Tandoor versions from internal/tandoor/version.go and tests each version using the new test suite.
  • Introduced a docker-compose file (integration/tandoor/compose.yaml) to spin up Tandoor and its database for integration testing, ensuring consistent test environments.

Integration Test Suite:

  • Added new integration test files:
    • integration/tandoor/authentication_test.go: Sets up Tandoor users, spaces, and obtains authentication tokens for tests.
    • integration/tandoor/compatibility_test.go: Verifies Tandoor API version and authentication/connection handling.
    • integration/tandoor/container_logs_test.go: Provides diagnostics by capturing and saving container logs on test failures.

Development Tooling Improvements:

  • Updated flake.nix to enhance pre-commit hooks:
    • Excludes integration tests from standard govet and gotest hooks.
    • Adds a dedicated govet hook for integration tests.
    • Updates vendored dependencies hash.

  • Updated go.mod to add required dependencies for integration testing, including testcontainers-go and related libraries, and to upgrade several indirect dependencies.

User Experience Enhancements:

  • Added checks to warn users if the configured Tandoor version is unsupported when running the genkit and recipe commands, improving error visibility. [1] [2]
