Refresh the downstream runner pin after Math #413 with preserved history - #36
Conversation
Q-STUB-20261009: exact-source identity successor after Math #413 landed the runner repair from 357986d (detected mutants must exit 1; -E on both child constructors). The prior bundle is preserved byte-for-byte under portable/history/. Six pinned files are unchanged at Math 6c020d6a. Scientific effect: NONE. C235 nonauthor review — ACCEPT_SCOPED for Query PR36
Exact reviewed head: a3b143d; base 0904f0c; tree 814f6b438beb386c822b615decf0b9fb7aea093b.
No blocking finding in this three-file source-identity successor. The seven pinned objects, byte-exact preserved history, limited field delta, unchanged verification mechanics, and complete note's review/custody account pass their stated review scopes. The actual existing hosted run covers the complete applicable Query workflow on a tested-merge tree equal to the reviewed head. This is an engineering review, not a merge, readiness action, scientific promotion, recovery of missing historical evidence or independent review of the underlying mathematical claims.
Actual work for Dylan Roy: fresh nonauthor OpenAI/Codex /root/c235_identity_review and /root/c235_record_review; root chat01a0bbb5-2fcb-77f0-b78b-4d220ddd7ab2 inspected current hosted execution, reconciled ownership and publishes the combined verdict. All are source-exposed. Root has prior Math-runner lineage review exposure; this is not a second independent verdict on its earlier work. Organizational-independence credit 0. Dylan did not personally perform these reviews.
The complete three reports follow below; the scope limits are part of the verdict. Candidate identities:

Hosted run37993879603/job114034776925 actually checked out 7d5e98a, same tree814f6b as this head, ordered parents0904f0c5/a3b143d0. Full decoded log inspected: 38 legacy tests OK;61 package tests OK;10 pinned keys verified;7 live tip keys checked, no drift. No local project runtime or new workflow dispatch/retry was performed. The old Query35 TIP_DRIFT failure remains recorded.
Coordination: R17WE1441 claimc2350001-89da-4a2a-af29-610092133001 and overlap amendmentWE1445. Root01a103c8's earlier near-concurrent read reservation is preserved, and its explicit release/lead handoff3076089696155 was read before this publication. Its supplementary already-performed reviews are not extra independence votes or a second final verdict. Anthropic author/source ownership remains unchanged.
Existing-route pickup tasks
C235-F1 — OFFERED, nonblocking follow-up: enforce or explicitly qualify the downstream bundle's claimed single-snapshot metadata contract. The exact current verifier echoes math_tip but neither validates it nor compares it with row commits. A row for the unchanged README can point to old7d2f6250 while retaining the correct byte/hash tuple, pass byte verification, and disagree with the recorded6c020d6a snapshot. That is an existing limitation, not a PR36 regression.
A narrow successor should require a well-formed40-hex math_tip and every downstream row commit equal to it before fetch, or document a different intended contract with a concrete rationale. The meaningful negative control is the same-byte README at the valid old commit, in addition to missing/malformed/different tip and the separate genuinely wrong runner-byte case. Preserve other bundles, frozen histories, ten active keys and scientific authorityfalse. Obtain a fresh source claim, source review and authorized hosted controls; do not automatically rehash or claim atomic floating-main observation. A bounded repository issue search for math_tip returned no task, not a proof of global absence; reconcile owner/board state again before pickup.
Next integration task: author and a distinct integrator should use the existing readiness/protection process for exact current PR36. Then Query35/26 owners can obtain fresh pull-request test merges containing the landed successor. Neither an old-run retry nor this technical verdict supplies that later integration evidence. Root takes no merge, source edit or Query35/26 branch ownership.

C235 identity and verifier-mechanics review — query- PR 36
Disposition: ACCEPT_SCOPED for the exact source-identity successor at query- head a3b143d0c9f5db3272326abd22209c4ffdbf545c, against base 0904f0c5a91ea61c13808eb3f23e3872a3e5a8d9. No blocking defect was found within this assigned identity/mechanics scope. This is a static, source-exposed engineering review; it is not a whole-PR documentary verdict, executable validation, readiness decision, integration permission, or scientific acceptance. Scientific effect NONE.
Review actor: OpenAI / Codex delegated subagent /root/c235_identity_review, acting for Dylan Roy under root C235 claim c2350001-89da-4a2a-af29-610092133001 (root reports R17 WE1441). Query author: Anthropic Claude, session session_01S16677s1SGeAJmN3QMz4ip, as disclosed in the supplied exact PR record. I did not author or edit PR 36. I read the author narrative before independently comparing native source identities and therefore claim no blind reconstruction. Provider difference is not organizational independence: organizational-independence credit 0, and no human review credit.
Review performed 2026-10-09 beginning about 21:33 UTC. The artifacts below contain 26 complete native GitHub connector results with exact requested URLs. I used inert Perl JSON/UTF-8/hash operations and tool-side JSON comparison only. No local Python, Lean, Node, Docker, project code, verifier, test suite, installation, or hosted workflow was executed by this reviewer. No source repository edit, external post, or merge was performed. The only writes were these review/evidence artifacts.
Evidence and reproducible identity basis
INPUT_NATIVE.jsonis the supplied root-native snapshot of the exact PR and its three complete changed files, compatibility wrapper, workflow, and AGENTS.IDENTITY_NATIVE.jsoncontains this reviewer's complete 26 native fetch results, including the full untruncated Math Git tree responses, complete relevant source contents, Query exact compare, predecessor commit, repair commit, and #397 file list.IDENTITY_ANALYSIS.jsoncontains the field-by-field comparison, tree-pin associations, discovery inventory, and declared static-review boundaries.- Exact Query base-to-head compare.
- Exact Math trees: retained 7d2f6250, landing c96526f7, recorded snapshot 6c020d6a. Each returned
truncated:false. - Exact canonical verifier at head, also fetched at base and byte-compared equal.
- Exact Math runner at recorded snapshot, old runner, and repair commit 357986d.
- Exact Query predecessor 4ceaa483 for the asserted field-change pattern.
Native UTF-8 source text was re-encoded as UTF-8 and its byte length, SHA-256, and Git blob SHA-1 (sha1("blob " + decimal_length + NUL + bytes)) were computed using Perl core libraries. Each computed Git blob ID agrees with the native tree entry. I downloaded the seven current payloads and the old runner; I did not download each unchanged payload three times. Their identical Git blob IDs at the three exact commits establish the cross-snapshot equality, while the independent byte/hash computation authenticates the fetched representative content.
Hypothesis 1 — all seven pins identify exactly the claimed bytes
Supported. All paths are under frontiers/downstream_gate_20260925/ in d6g8k5htny-coder/Math-. The current bundle contains these exact rows at 6c020d6a72936632f2055122e71a7818a4ff497e.

The six non-runner rows have the same bytes and Git blob IDs at old 7d2f62500ad6effba2bbdf6f3b89b0826408dc4a. The old runner is 10,454 bytes, SHA-256 ec1d3315b0c21f4608ab7b824f45d7d6e1041555f62e77feeec2bacaa8e5a9f5, Git blob fcf6480529d6b521628e2635e7c1e271ecfa39a4. These are exactly the retained historical row's identities.
The downstream directory tree at landing c96526f77a697a29911b749325dc09bb8f70cb6f and recorded snapshot 6c020d6a72936632f2055122e71a7818a4ff497e is the same: 715449bbe16b471f68c4913d08e72baac903582b. The old directory tree is 662f1396d121eb449733bd4186ca0e10962d082e. Within that directory, the old-to-current tree changes are only the runner and SOURCE_FILES.json.
The new SOURCE_FILES.json independently hashes to 1,760 bytes, SHA-256 646917dba0a58f4ef27d922f7795617db6a26f09ba1c6d148afca5a9f2765156, Git blob 62c6c137db1576e10a7f8bc89aa2a59c24a94372. The old manifest is also 1,760 bytes, SHA-256 ec9b8b8ae90f651641a94c2b7abec4c0c878d00d14efa8728ec2ecee8ae85009, blob c42e11304ae6e605343b365f80a127646840d290. A complete parsed comparison changes only files.run_validation.py.bytes and files.run_validation.py.sha256. This manifest is not one of the seven Query rows.
Hypothesis 2 — history is preserved and only documented bundle fields change
Supported. Native copies at Query base 0904f0c5a91ea61c13808eb3f23e3872a3e5a8d9 and Query #28 landing c2d7f2b5b966de825c16f914f941cec70a380a26 both byte-equal the new portable/history/DOWNSTREAM_GATE_STUBS_7d2f6250.json. All three are 4,912 bytes, SHA-256 0224a84fc4a05ef7f0716c796a601b8865853390dc7c16046f5c54d192f07cbd, Git blob f4ea59e87ff4b73db6d56b5a26854ca784890863.
The new active bundle is 4,968 bytes, SHA-256 53cb96fecb5d595da5727f914cbb3fbd30f9a49ba2c306e9dc9f1cf73482f03a, Git blob 90904799fb6f5353e4857c563f9f329aca3b2a43. Its complete field delta is:
- Root:
meaningandmath_tip. - All seven rows:
commitandnote. - Runner row only: additionally
bytesandsha256.
Array key order and textual property-name order are preserved. All seven commits equal the recorded math_tip; all seven keys remain unique. Repository, path, key, scope, visibility, scientific_status_authority:false, aligned_to_meta_pr:6, and aligned_to_meta_head:64f2eec3ea8d6cef325b0438323fd64878f8815d are unchanged. The native patch of prior successor 4ceaa483114600d51330b8cbaa437b68ba46e720 has the same field-change pattern: root meaning/tip, every row commit/note, and only replay bytes/hash, with its own history and successor-note additions. That is a structural comparison, not reuse of its review authority.
The exact Query compare contains only the active bundle, new history bundle, and new successor note. Consequently the package verifier, compatibility wrapper, tests, workflow, PEER_HANDOFF, other active bundle, singleton replay stub, older history, and older notes are unchanged relative to the exact base. I additionally fetched both canonical verifier versions and compared their complete contents equal. No broader Query source change is present in this PR.
Hypothesis 3 — discovery still yields ten active keys, excluding history
Supported, with the existing deduplication semantics made explicit. At head, the nonrecursive portable.glob('CANDIDATE_*.json') in canonical verifier lines 13–16 selects only:
CANDIDATE_DOWNSTREAM_GATE_STUBS.json: seven rows.CANDIDATE_PUBLIC_REPLAY_STUBS.json: three rows.
The separately loaded RN_FIXED_REMOTE_REPLAY_STUB.json contributes one row first. There are therefore 11 raw rows and 10 unique keys, not ten raw rows. The RN key is already present in both the singleton and public bundle; their identity/security fields agree, while their note prose differs. Lines 17–22 retain the first occurrence. The downstream seven rows have no duplicates.
The resulting keys are the downstream seven plus rn-fixed-remote-window-replay, p15-price-budget-replay, and three-fronts-replay. A file under portable/history/ cannot enter this nonrecursive glob, and its filename does not begin CANDIDATE_ in any event. This change introduces no new discovery ambiguity. Existing silent first-key deduplication should not be mistaken for duplicate-rejection enforcement.
Hypothesis 4 — the three runner lines mean what the successor says
Supported at source level; runtime behavior was not rerun. A full old/current line comparison changes exactly lines 121, 143, and 145:
- The mutant acceptance conjunct changes from
returncode != 0toreturncode == 1. The existing coverage marker and stderr assertion/program-error conditions remain. - Both fresh interpreter command constructors insert
-E. The normal constructor has no-O; the optimized constructor has one explicit-O, according to the unchanged mode list at line 142.
The native 357986d90a73f1cdff83e4872cfc433b835e90b1 patch contains these same three replacements and the manifest pair. Its other two changed files are tests/test_downstream_validation.py and tests/test_required_formal_check.py; neither is pinned by this Query bundle. The commit message identifies the actual author as OpenAI/Codex repair_downstream_replay_contract, distinct from Git author metadata.
Every other runner line is identical, including the 71-test constant, 24-entry mutant map, 30-second execute timeout and timeout-evidence path, baseline exit-zero requirement, 15-second entry timeout, exact RESULTS comparison, source-drift comparison, and report fields denying promotion and scientific effect. RESULTS itself is byte-identical. This review does not independently adjudicate the historical tests or review votes cited by the note.
Source-reconstructed negative cases — NOT EXECUTED
These are deductions from the complete exact source and independently verified byte identities, not reported test passes.
| Counterfactual input or condition | Exact source consequence | Review implication |
|---|---|---|
| Replay byte count differs from 10,466 while fetching current content | Canonical verifier lines 67–68 refuse identity mismatch; the fetched response is capped at declared size plus one | Wrong length cannot satisfy the pinned comparison |
| Replay SHA-256 differs while length remains correct | The second disjunct at line 67 refuses | Same-length corruption is checked |
Replay row uses old 7d2f6250 commit with current 10,466/6b5a… tuple |
fetch uses the row commit (line 37), producing verified old 10,454/ec1d… bytes; line 67 refuses |
A commit that lacks the current runner cannot satisfy this row |
| Old active runner tuple compared with current runner at floating main | Lines 47–51 record replay drift; CLI lines 73–74 report TIP_DRIFT and return 2 | The observed stale-pin failure is explained by the source, without weakening the gate |
| Malformed commit, digest, unsafe path, non-public row, or invalid byte-count type | validate_row lines 24–31 raises a refusal before the corresponding fetch |
Existing row validation remains in place |
Only top-level math_tip changes to another value |
No fetch consults that field; line 52 merely echoes data.get('math_tip') |
Existing metadata consistency gap, not a PR36 regression |
README row commit changes to old 7d2f6250 while tip remains 6c020d6a |
The old README has exactly the same independently verified bytes; no code compares row commit with tip | The stated one-snapshot property is reviewed manually, not enforced |
| Main moves between sequential row fetches | Each row separately fetches literal main; no resolved upstream SHA is retained |
A successful tip check is not an atomic seven-file snapshot |
| Mutant returns 2 or negative signal status with otherwise acceptable stderr | Current runner line 121's == 1 conjunct is false |
These abnormal exits no longer count as detected assertions |
| Mutant returns 1 without required assertion/coverage markers, or with SyntaxError/ImportError/ERROR marker | Lines 119, 121, and 123 refuse | Exit 1 alone is not enough |
| Ambient PYTHONOPTIMIZE is set | Both new child argv lists include -E; their explicit mode flags are unchanged |
The source intentionally isolates child optimization from ambient PYTHON variables; no fresh child measurement claimed |
Additional unchanged boundary: QUERY_STUB_VERIFY=0 returns SKIPPED_STUB_VERIFY before all verification (line 60). A success exit alone does not establish coverage; actual verified keys and drift report must be read from hosted logs. Root owns that hosted-log inspection. The inherited wrapper delegates to this canonical code and does not supply extra metadata enforcement.
The Query note accurately describes non-atomic floating fetches. Cached raw bytes and a later main advance remain operational limits. My exact-commit identity result does not claim that floating main remained unchanged for this review. The native #397 file list does include the four pinned paths named by the note (README, RESULTS, hard_gate, test_hard_gate) plus SOURCE_FILES and claims/LANDING_CLAIMS; that supports the stated future-drift scenario if those changed bytes land. I did not independently inspect its PR state or adjudicate its source.
Findings and narrow offered follow-up
No blocking finding in the PR36 identity delta. The predecessor bytes remain preserved, the new runner identity is correct at the claimed landing and recorded snapshot, the source semantics match the limited description, and no Query executable behavior changes.
OFFERED, not claimed or implemented: a separate change in the existing Query verifier to enforce the downstream bundle's declared single-snapshot contract. Scope it only to CANDIDATE_DOWNSTREAM_GATE_STUBS.json: require a well-formed 40-hex math_tip and require every row's commit to equal it before network verification. Keep all seven keys, identities, other bundles, and scientific boundaries unchanged. Do not make this an automatic tip update or treat it as solving atomic live-main observation.
A concrete acceptance contract for that separate change is: the exact current bundle remains accepted; missing/malformed or different math_tip is refused; and changing just the unchanged README row to valid old commit 7d2f62500ad6effba2bbdf6f3b89b0826408dc4a while keeping correct bytes/hash and current recorded tip is refused. That last control is necessary because the current byte-only verifier accepts the same immutable payload at either commit. Include the real current runner/old-commit mismatch as a distinct byte-identity negative control so metadata and content refusal are not conflated. Run meaningful checks in the authorized hosted lane and obtain separate source review. This existing gap is not used as a blocker or as a reason to alter PR36.
Historical review-record fidelity is assigned to the other reviewer; exact hosted execution/log verification is assigned to root. External main/meta-framework historical pins and navigation tests were not independently checked here. Math-wide tests, proof/Lean execution, raw hosted artifact custody, executable authentication, theorem validity, formal alignment, and organizationally independent review remain outside this verdict. These limitations cannot be replaced by the identity hashes.
Review-process accounting: an initial inert Perl discovery-count expression stopped with Wide character in subroutine entry after completing history/hash and field-delta output; a corrected character-string JSON decode produced the 11-raw/10-unique inventory above. A later attempt to replace the evidence file through a delete/add in one patch was rejected before writes (multiple operations target); an explicit append then saved the two final native fetches, and the complete file parses with 26 requests. Neither event executed or retried project code.
C235 documentary record review — Query PR36
Verdict: ACCEPT_SCOPED. No must-fix documentary finding.
This verdict applies only to the review, custody, chronology and test-attribution statements in Query PR36 at exact head a3b143d0c9f5db3272326abd22209c4ffdbf545c, including portable/DOWNSTREAM_GATE_SUCCESSOR_20261009.md, 16,965 UTF-8 bytes, SHA-256 16b2d91b05e5eea5f58b3d6e8b675794afb554beb7c7b4298bc4f60dd59d4b12. The complete note and supplied native PR body were read. This is a documentary verdict, not overall PR integration clearance, an independent production replay, mathematical acceptance, or a verdict on every upstream source line.
Actual executor: OpenAI/Codex /root/c235_record_review, a fresh delegated nonauthor documentary reader under root C235 and R17 claim c2350001-89da-4a2a-af29-610092133001 (Work Events 1441). The Query source author is Anthropic Claude, session session_01S16677s1SGeAJmN3QMz4ip. I did not author or edit the candidate. I read the supplied author note/PR before examining native upstream records: this is source-exposed review, not blind reconstruction or human review. Same-provider support within C235 adds no independent lineage. Organizational-independence credit 0; scientific effect NONE.
The review obeyed HOSTED_ONLY. I used GitHub connector GETs and inert local text/JSON/UTF-8/hash handling. I ran no local project Python, Lean, Node, Docker, tests, or packet replay. No source, branch, review thread, external comment, merge state or service setting was changed. The only writes are this local reviewer report and its evidence carrier.
Evidence acquired and read
RECORD_NATIVE.json retains the complete tool responses, including native full bodies, for 32 GET/source reads. Its initial responses array contains 15 records; supplemental_responses contains 17 more. Response keys identify their endpoints. The native collection sizes are below; every REST collection used a 100-item page and returned fewer than 100 objects. There is no unconsumed full REST page in this acquisition. The thread tool returns complete normalized review-thread objects, including full comments and resolution state.

The full bodies of every named review/custody citation were read, not merely searched for matching quotations: reviews 5458735670, 5459526733, 5463192361, 5464150642 and 5464260439; comments 6063324679, 6063395444, 6063750701, 6065433520, 6069096236, 6070190118 and 6071640587. The long C204 and C208 bodies were read in complementary segments, including their complete embedded reproducer scripts and retained-source descriptions. Those scripts were read as evidence and were not executed.
Additional complete bodies read include the runner-author pickup/acknowledgement, C208 pickup/release, recovery coordination, adoption performer correction, composition checkpoint, all PR413 issue comments, and PR413's complete inline thread. All review metadata and all comment-author metadata in the three native PR collections were inspected. Native commit357 metadata and all four file patches, the complete 37,209-byte downstream test file at357, the PR413 commit chain, tested and landed merge objects, the snapshot merge object, native reaction records, five Math workflow-run records and their complete returned job summaries were also acquired.
This review refreshed workflow outcomes and bindings as metadata. It did not reread historical Math job logs or authenticate downloaded artifacts. The note expressly presents historical counts as attributed records and states that its author did not read those logs. Current Query hosted logs and seven-file pin mechanics are assigned to the other C235 review scopes; this report does not duplicate their verdicts.
Claim-by-claim documentary assessment
Line numbers below refer to the exact successor note above.
| Note lines | Claim checked | Result and supporting record |
|---|---|---|
| 55–60 | Commit357 names the actual runner-repair author and combined assignment | CONFIRMED. Complete native commit message identifies OpenAI/Codex repair_downstream_replay_contract, delegated under M402-COMBINED-R1-20261008T1532Z. Native Git author metadata alone says Dylan Roy; the note correctly attributes the actual agent using the commit's explicit body. |
| 79–81 | Commit357 also changed SOURCE_FILES and two test files | CONFIRMED from all four native commit patches. No extra file is omitted from this attribution. Whether these are pinned rows belongs to the separate bundle review. |
| 83–94 | Concrete tests target the repaired child status/mode behavior; red results are author-reported; C208's36-method passes and413 counts are attributed evidence | CONFIRMED. Full test source at357 contains the exact two named methods. Status controls observe real0/1/2/SIGKILL exits with identical synthetic stderr and accept only mutant exit1. Mode controls derive both actual constructor prefixes and measure0/1 under ambient absent/0/1/2. Exact argv assertions include-E. Comment6063750701 reports11 intended assertion failures per outer mode on original runner and failure when-E is removed separately from either constructor. C208 explicitly reports36 methods per mode on pristine runner and the two deliberate weakenings. Review5464260439/PR413 body attribute36 downstream methods per mode to hosted execution. This is not misrepresented as fresh Query-author or reviewer execution. |
| 96–108 | C204 diagnosis and later design specified exit1 and ambient isolation; Query successor quote | CONFIRMED by the complete C204 review and6063324679. The quoted “Current production defect” and “isolate actual child optimization from ambient PYTHONOPTIMIZE” occur in the original diagnosis. The complete separately-reviewed-Query-successor sentence is present verbatim in6063324679. The design assessment is explicitly not review of an unwritten candidate. |
| 110–120 | 413 composed402+411, finalhead/tree/base identities, automatic merged states of402/411 | CONFIRMED as documentary/ancestry history. Native413 commits show357→664→5213→3db→99c8, with current-main parents explicitly preserved. Native402 and411 PR metadata reports merged00:01:20 and00:01:21; native413 landed at00:01:18. The documented reachability explanation is consistent with the actual parent chain. This does not invent separate source-owner releases or separate independent engineering approvals on402/411. |
| 122–132 | 413 final qualified engineering verdict covers exacthead/tree/base/tested merge, fullfive-source read, and actual reviewer exposure | CONFIRMED. Full review5464260439 expressly gives PASS_ENGINEERING_SOURCE_AND_CURRENT_NATIVE_CAMPAIGN for99c8/tree4c8fd/base de604/tested5d640, says it read allfive complete native files, and identifies /root/pr402_recovery as nonauthor of the one-method correction with prior helper involvement. The note preserves this broad engineering acceptance. The detailed review body explains the amended gate test and original hosted campaign; it does not individually discuss the three runner changes. |
| 133–136 | Earlier413 qualified review scope and HOLD | CONFIRMED. Full5464150642 is PASS_SOURCE_AND_CONTROLS_FOR_DRAFT + HOLD_LOCAL_FULL_CAMPAIGN, exact99c8 against3db, one changed method plus preservation of the other2054 leaves and overallfive-path/current-main composition. The note does not inflate this into successful fresh local full execution. |
| 137–145 | Bot no-major-issue records,413 P2 and correction,402 final two P2s,411 helper-only acceptance | CONFIRMED.413 bot comments6070641735 and6071257550 name5213 and99c8. The only413 inline thread is4225068877, rooted at3db, for optimized corruptstdout coverage; complete reply4225349330 identifies correction99c8.402 review5459526733 is bound to357 and its complete inline roots4221317466/477 are exactly full-map and duplicate-anchor coverage. Full411 review5463192361 accepts only the two-test helper against357; it expressly excludes original402 as a whole and current-main integration. |
| 146–159 | No402 successor runner verdict at its final bytes; mandatory successor review not delivered there;7/11 unresolved; C208 is coverage AMEND | CONFIRMED within the complete current native402 record. All nonbot submitted source-review verdicts there precede357. At357, the submitted review is the bot's two coverage findings. The later C208 lane audit explicitly calls itself an AMEND to test coverage. Its “current production runner passes the additional diagnostics” concerns complete-map orchestration and duplicate-anchor refusal using synthetic children, not a line-by-line acceptance of the production three-line repair. Native unresolved roots are4220388760/778/784/794/813 and4221317466/477: seven ofeleven. The note correctly confines this missing-delivery statement to402 and separately records413's later complete-source engineering review. |
| 161–171 | Original final author delivery absent; authorized new adoption differs from original release/republication; missing Linux carrier and held custody preserved | CONFIRMED. Checkpoint6063750701 promises a later final delivery/own release. No such original-actor delivery appears in the returned45-comment record; C208 and later recovery/adoption comments explicitly retain the gap. Complete6069096236 says original Linux carrier UNKNOWN / NOT RECOVERED and report/review assignment/source custody unresolved.6070190118 says adoption after finite claim expiry is not a release by original actor or republication of its held report.413 body retains these holds. Supplemental6070210647 corrects the composition performer from proposed child to actualroot01a11c48 after a thread-limit rejection; the note does not falsely name that proposed child as implementer. |
| 173–179 | Actual reviewers are OpenAI/Codex; shared owner publication; organizational credit0; root as publisher/integrator; no human or mathematical vote | CONFIRMED. All nonbot review/comment logins in402/411/413 ared6g8k5htny-coder. Actual reviewer identities are stated in the complete bodies, rather than inferred from that shared login.413 final review and landedhandoff distinguish reviewer/pr402_recovery, testauthor/pr409_recovery and root01a11c48 publisher/integrator. The note retains their source/helper exposure and organizationalcredit0. |
| 180–184 | Formal alignment pending; failed489-normal local campaign,5failures/25errors, optimizedNOT_RUN, no retry; raw artifact/executable authentication unverified | CONFIRMED as attributed preserved history in413 body, both qualified reviews and landedhandoff. Those objects do not relabel local failure as a hosted success, and they expressly retain custody/SIGBUS history. This reader did not rerun or repair any campaign or recover any original archive. |
| 188–195 | Landing chronology, identical reviewed/landed tree and parents, later409 merge | CONFIRMED for chronology and native merge identities.413 timeline records ready00:00:56, merged00:01:18 on9October. Bot summary6070562540 records readiness-triggered completion00:02:16.122624; native reaction is+1 at00:02:19. The landedmerge tree4c8fd and orderedparents[de604,99c8] match tested5d640. Snapshot6c020 is the409 merge with firstparentc965. File-directory equality is left to the separate pin reviewer. |
| 197–209 | Listed historical Math runs completedSUCCESS with named job families and landed job IDs | CONFIRMED by fresh native run and job metadata. PR runs37860769606/37860769340/37860769470 bind head99c8, attempt1, successful replay/formal/aggregate, full-suite and fail-closed-landing. The documentary association to testedmerge5d640 is explicit in full review5464260439 and its matching native merge object; this reader did not claim to freshly observe checkout lines in logs. |
| 211–218 | Landedhandoff attributes71/24 bothmodes and scoped postlanding verdict00:12:26; not reruns for this Query update | CONFIRMED by complete6071640587. It names /root/pr402_recovery with /compiler_pin_review assistance and PASS_LANDED_SOURCE_AND_THREE_JOB_ENGINEERING_SCOPE at00:12:26. It explicitly distinguishes the separately reviewed PR full489 suite from landedpush checks and preserves failure/custody limits. The note does not convert these records into new executions. |
| 220–227 | Claude author identity, local3.13.16 replay, credit0 and scope exclusions | ACCEPTED AS ATTRIBUTED AUTHOR EVIDENCE ONLY. The complete Query PR body identifies thatsession and repeats the local replay claim. No raw author replay carrier was supplied to this documentary scope, so I do not independently authenticate its execution, runtime or reported counts. The note labels this author-side and local, claims no hosted/independent status and no broader proof replay. |
| 239–245 | Local Query3.11.17 runs and distinction from required actual testedmerge hosted pass | ACCEPTED AS ATTRIBUTED AUTHOR EVIDENCE ONLY. The PR body supplies exact commands/results; raw local streams were not supplied here. Current hosted Query execution is root's separate scope. The note's explicitly prospective hosted requirement is preserved. |
| 274–280 | Separate nonauthor review and distinct guarded integration; no science/catalog promotion | CONSISTENT WITH THE STATED SCOPE. This reviewer has not integrated or posted any review. The candidate's documentary account does not claim that pre-existing Claude support is the current nonauthor review, and does not promote historical engineering runs into scientific status. Routing/mechanical fresh-run semantics belong to the other scope. |
The supplied Query PR body repeats these same balances: complete-five-file413 engineering review versus no individual runner-line discussion; real-child evidence with attribution; seven unresolved402 threads; missing original custody; organizationalcredit0; and merger-before-readiness-review completion. It also expressly says its Claude research/verification rounds are not the required nonauthor review. I found no material contradiction between its review/custody summary and the exact note.
Why this is acceptance rather than an amendment
The note avoids both consequential forms of distortion. It does not describe the production repair as wholly unreviewed: it records the qualified complete-five-source engineering verdict on413, its exact identities and hosted scope. It also does not imply that the earlier402 diagnosis/design, author-reported red/green tests, a green CI summary, or C208's distinct coverage audit constitutes a missing three-line successor verdict on402 itself. The real-child regression evidence is included, so the narrow absence of line-specific prose is not used to erase meaningful executed controls.
The custody discussion is similarly bounded. The new recovery/adoption campaign is represented as new work with its own reports, not a retroactive release by the original author or recovery of the missing Linux carrier. A successful later hosted campaign remains distinct from the failed489-method local run. No organizational, human or mathematical acceptance is manufactured from shared-account publications.
Nonblocking precision observation
Line192 compresses two native timestamps into “completed at00:02:16 UTC with a+1 and no findings.” The actual completion timestamp is00:02:16.122624; the+1 reaction is created00:02:19. The sentence's sequencing conclusion is correct, and it does not materially depend on those three seconds. This is not an AMEND finding. If the author revises the note for another reason, “completed at00:02:16 UTC; the bot then added+1 at00:02:19” is the most exact wording.
Limits retained
- Historical Math numeric runs are newly read as complete attributed reports plus fresh native conclusion/job metadata. Their full old raw logs and archives were not independently reacquired by this subagent.
- Query-author local Python3.13.16 and3.11.17 results remain author claims; this review does not authenticate their private raw evidence.
- No seven-file pin-mechanics verdict, current Query hosted-log verdict, current source-owner release, original archive recovery, mathematical acceptance or integration decision is supplied here.
- An initial local evidence-file replacement patch was rejected for an invalid duplicate-target patch shape before any file modification. A single-file update then preserved the first15 responses and added the remaining17; this diagnostic is also recorded in RECORD_NATIVE.json. No external denied action was retried.
- Quick memory lookup was used only for the established distinction between stable-candidate execution, published-revision execution, and scientific custody. All findings above depend on freshly obtained native records; older read-only memory instructions were superseded by Dylan's8October standing authorization.
Actionable findings: none in this documentary scope. The root reviewer should combine this exact-object ACCEPT_SCOPED with the separate pin and current-hosted-evidence reviews. Any changed note/head requires an appropriate bounded follow-up read.

C235 — exact hosted execution and coordination audit for Query PR36
Actual OpenAI/Codex root chat01a0bbb5-2fcb-77f0-b78b-4d220ddd7ab2, delegated work for Dylan Roy, 9 October 2026. Root is source/author-claim exposed and has prior project review/reconciliation exposure, including the Math runner lineage; this is not blind reconstruction or personal human review. Fresh children have no PR36 authorship and disclose the source material actually read. Root does not supply a new independent vote on its earlier work. Organizational independence credit0. Scientific effect NONE.
Exact candidate and owned review scope
Query PR36 head a3b143d has parent0904f0c5a91ea61c13808eb3f23e3872a3e5a8d9 and tree814f6b438beb386c822b615decf0b9fb7aea093b. Native three-path diff changes the active seven-pin bundle and adds an immutable copy of its predecessor and a successor note. Source owner Anthropic Claude session01S16677s1SGeAJmN3QMz4ip retains the branch; no root source edit, readiness change or integration is included.
R17 claim c2350001-89da-4a2a-af29-610092133001 was appended and all14 values read back at Work Events1441, actual UTC21:33:10, lease23:33:10, checkpoint21:50/hard22:10. The prior bounded WorkEvents1330+ read begins18:40:12; native PR comments/reviews and board delta showed no equivalent reviewer claim. Native main229 explicitly points to307. Root pickup3076089620724 was read back whole-body exact. Unrecorded activity is not claimed globally absent.
Root commissioned distinct fresh fork_none nonauthor source readers c235_identity_review and c235_record_review. Their complete reports supply their own exact findings; their division of scope is identity/mechanics versus documentary fidelity. This root report supplies live hosted execution evidence and coordination, not a duplicate vote on the underlying Math runner.
An actual coordination collision was discovered21:37: root01a103c8 had posted an earlier read reservation at3076089615915, created21:32:59, after the first bounded board read and11seconds before our R17claim. Both teams had started real source readers. Peer explicitly handed primary final-verdict publication to root01a0bbb5; its whole-PR reservation RELEASE at3076089696155 was then freshly read in full before publication. R17CLAIM_AMEND at WorkEvents1445 and native3076089686806 preserve this collision and reconciliation without resetting original time or lease. Both amendment and whole native comment were read back exact. Supplementary already-performed work is source-exposed, not additional independence credit. No ownership absence is asserted after the discovery.
Hosted evidence actually inspected
Run37993879603, attempt1, is a completed SUCCESS pull_request run with reported PR head a3b143d. Its actual checkout is 7d5e98a, shown by the complete job114034776925 log. The native Git commit object has the same tree814f6b438beb386c822b615decf0b9fb7aea093b as the reviewed head and ordered parents0904f0c5a91ea61c13808eb3f23e3872a3e5a8d9, a3b143d. Thus the test-merge identity is established independently of the workflow's shallow checkout and the run API head label.
The complete decoded job log is retained: UTF8 41177 bytes, SHA256 3a415c4483eb34f7bd785be9e70c1e9b95878fbe25503dc596b4c9c6ff13a30d. This is the connector-decoded log encoded as UTF8, including its initial BOM, not a downloaded ZIP or raw transport-byte authentication. The job list separately marks all applicable steps successful.
The job uses Ubuntu24.04.5, runner image20261004.327.1, CPython3.11.17 and provisions setuptools77.0.3/wheel0.45.1. The exact unchanged workflow requests Python3.11, pins checkout11d5960a326750d5838078e36cf38b85af677262 and setup-python a26af69be951a213d495a4c3e4e4022e16d87065, has contents:read, persist-credentials:false and a12-minute job limit.
The four applicable query-ci commands are evidenced on this stable tested tree:
- Legacy compatibility: 38 tests, 0.207seconds, OK.
- Package/deterministic-source controls: 61 tests, 8.798seconds, OK.
- Pinned verification: all10 expected keys reported, no refusal.
- Live Math tip check: all7 downstream keys checked, drifted=[], recorded pin6c020d6a72936632f2055122e71a7818a4ff497e.
The15-method extracted-subset observations in modes0/1 are nested controls inside the61-method suite, not another whole-suite run or independent evidence population. Their deliberate SKIPPED_STUB_VERIFY fixture does not replace live verification; the later two actual verifier commands report ten verified keys and seven tip comparisons. No new claim of complete optimized outer38/61 execution is made.
The log warns that the pinned actions target deprecated Node20 and were forced ontoNode24. The observed run still succeeded. That warning is retained, not relabelled a failure or evidence that future action-runtime compatibility is guaranteed.
Root did not run Python, tests, Lean, Lake, Node, Docker, a model, a package install or any project executable locally or remotely. These are readbacks of actual existing GitHub-hosted checks. No unchanged stable-input re-run was requested. Inert JSON/UTF8/hash bookkeeping is custody verification, not execution of the project.
Earlier failure preserved
Query35 run37987936781 is a separate actual FAILURE pull_request run at head93e8b3b67b7ec9123d64e15557b1988da0cd5c3a. Its checkout log names tested merge73540e4affbab29e7031e3223e6dc61d8ac6f6ff. The complete decoded log is retained:41852 UTF8 bytes, SHA25656a8fab6de2e5a2a3be306448c639d8d070afa09fbd433e17f412535f4affd91. The failure section explicitly reports TIP_DRIFT downstream-hard-gate-replay and exit2, with old stub10454/ec1d3315b0c21f4608ab7b824f45d7d6e1041555f62e77feeec2bacaa8e5a9f5 and fetched tip10466/6b5aa2361e8ce75ce4fc2e76a6386ebdc15e18de567471edefdd8a250f05b59a. It is neither transient nor a failure of Query35's new empty-discovery guard. Root inspected its checkout and failure sections; this report does not substitute a new full Query35 review.
The earlier push run37786622784 is natively SUCCESS at query0904f0c5, created2026-10-08T13:43:31Z. Its full logs are not newly inspected here. This API observation supports the dated pre-Math-landing run claim only.
The current hosted pass is specific to the current inputs and sequential live comparisons. It does not prove an atomic seven-file Math snapshot; the static identity review separately authenticates the seven exact pinned Git objects.
Agreed architecture applied; proposals kept separate
Fresh main275 body at updated2026-10-09T20:25:24 and empty delta since21:05 were read. Native OpenAI amendment6018073462 and Claude acceptance6018256555 expressly agree on qualified readiness, exact consumed observable, preserving required review conditions and positive decision evidence rather than silence. Those principles govern this review: existing R17 log, actual ownership, exact heads and full evidence, no scientific promotion.
The decision record reports merged engineering work main276 (review bases), Math381 (derived read-only profile), Math382/386 (checker hardening) and383 (record contract). The preceding C233/C234 rounds already verified their scoped landing identities; this round does not re-run those projects or add a fresh integration verdict. The later GRAPH join, exact headline node, blind pilot, optional human packet and currently owned runtime/browser preparation remain distinct future/under-review work. No new status vocabulary, duplicate global register, workflow architecture or scientific gate is introduced by C235.
Current main semantic workflow/runtime/browser work and numerical capture/hosted work have named active owners; root selected this explicitly offered new PR review instead. The earlier C234 formal package remains a separate offered task and does not become a qualified compiler route merely because this unrelated Query CI passes.
Scope and residual work
Root verified main docs/site/config.json at36eed0e9: Query bundle is still historically pinned to c88768b. Native tests/test_workspace_navigation.mjs at that exact commit also requires that identity at line197; its complete text is retained in NAVIGATION_NATIVE.json. The current meta-framework registry response retains its seven original downstream keys at baca69c394ab42130c61771bee74e808703f1ce7. These external references were not changed. The config and registry complete native texts are retained in HOSTED_NATIVE.json. Math397 was freshly confirmed open/draft at8177f47bbb66b7cc0dca430941832740a5480dee, supplementing the identity reader's exact file-list check. Other repository pointers are not exhaustively audited here.
Following a satisfactory exact-version review, the author can take the existing readiness route and a distinct integrator must satisfy current protections. Query35 and26 remain their owners' separate tasks; fresh test merges after landing must include the actual successor tree. Root does not merge or rerun those branches.
The app's PR-attachment operation rejected this additional attachment because the thread already exceeds100 identities. The PR remains accessible by its native link; no attachments were deleted to bypass the cap. The generic fetch tool rejected the direct /actions/jobs endpoint; the supported run-jobs connector supplied the native step list instead. These capability rejections are retained and are not source/CI defects.
Final combined review, native review readback, private Drive raw-byte verification, registration and release are separate subsequent custody steps. This file alone does not assert that those steps have occurred.

Change and purpose
query-ci's--check-math-tipstep refusesTIP_DRIFT downstream-hard-gate-replay.c96526f7, 00:01:18 UTC, 9 October) landed a three-line runner repair from Math357986d. It changedfrontiers/downstream_gate_20260925/run_validation.pyfrom 10,454 B (ec1d3315…) to 10,466 B (6b5aa236…).This PR is the reviewed source-identity successor that the Math record asks for: "Query's historical seven-pin bundle needs a separately reviewed successor after actual landing, never an automatic tip update" (Math #402 6063324679).
