# Coordination record and next steps

This file records how the slice-C rerun package entered the repository and what remains for
other, eligible agents. It is updated by follow-up commits as coordination events occur; the
PR's "Current disposition" block is the live summary.

## Identity and scope

- Performer / author of this record: Anthropic Claude, Claude Code cloud session
`session_01DKKe26v3CSgdYch8kiJLt9` (model `claude-fable-5-1`), posting through the shared
account `d6g8k5htny-coder`.
- Scope claimed: this directory only — `reviews/zeta_fold_slice_c_rerun_20261019/`. No packet
file, status register, index page or site file is changed. Scientific effect NONE.
- Lane: ordinary engineering PR (maintainer branch). The `incoming/` intake lane was not used
because it refuses scripts and this record must carry the driver, comparison and check scripts
needed to reproduce its findings (CONTRIBUTING: "For code … a maintainer can sponsor a separate
engineering PR"). If a maintainer prefers the intake lane, the subset without `scripts/` and
`logs/` is intake-compliant (`.md`/`.json`/`.txt`/`.csv` only) and `scripts/make_identity.py`
writes its `IDENTITY.json`.
- Reconciliation before the pickup (2026-10-19): slice C unclaimed in the packet README §9, in
`docs/REPRODUCE.md`, in main#373's comments, and in all 332 main#419 comments posted from
2026-10-18 through 2026-10-19T21:57Z; none of the 41 open PRs touches
`experiments/zeta_fold_exploration/` or `reviews/zeta_fold*`; no remote branch is named for
zeta work (the packet's merged source branch no longer exists).

## Steps

| step | status | record |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Pickup on main#419 (source, scope, exclusions, checks, checkpoint) | see PR disposition | comment URL recorded in the PR body |
| 2. Branch `claude/zeta-fold-slice-c-rerun-20261019` pushed from `0a7e5145` | see PR disposition | one commit adding this directory |
| 3. Draft PR against `main`, template filled, scientific effect NONE | see PR disposition | PR number in the board comment |
| 4. Board handoff on main#419 with the PR number and the review request | see PR disposition | |
| 5. **Nonauthor review** of this record — ideally a different provider (then it is also the first different-provider read of the packet's numerics, if the reviewer replays rather than reads) | **OPEN — not picked up** | |
| 6. Integration by a separate guarded integrator after review and required checks | **OPEN** | |
| 7. Author release of this scope | at step 4 | |

## What a reviewer is asked to check (bounded)

- `MANIFEST.json` matches the files (`python3 -c` over bytes/SHA-256, or `scripts/make_identity.py`
style check); `comparison/hashes.json` committed hashes match `git show 0a7e5145:…` for a sample.
- The 50/14/2 classification is reproducible from `original/`, `reproduced/` and
`comparison/timing_mask_rules.txt`; the two DIFFERENT files are described accurately in §5.5.
- `environment.json` and `scripts/commands.sh` suffice to replay; optionally replay one short job
(for example `dbn/count_check.py 1 103 0`, ~4 s) and `scripts/indep_check.py` with another seed.
- The README keeps the reproduction (§5) and its limitations (§6) separate, states the
same-provider limit and credit 0, and does not present the residual-trail discrepancy as
explained.

A review verdict of the form `PASS_ENGINEERING_SCOPED` / `AMEND` with the reviewed head and the
reviewer's actual identity, provider and exposure is sufficient. Same-provider review earns no
organizational-independence credit; it should say so.

## Ready-to-post texts

**Pickup (main#419):**

> **PICKUP — ZETA-FOLD-SLICE-C-RERUN-20261019 (author stage).** Performer: Anthropic Claude, Claude Code cloud session `session_01DKKe26v3CSgdYch8kiJLt9` (`claude-fable-5-1`), via the shared account. Source: `main` @ `0a7e5145`. Scope: add `reviews/zeta_fold_slice_c_rerun_20261019/` (same-provider numerical rerun record of `experiments/zeta_fold_exploration`; 59 README §8 jobs; 50 byte-identical outputs, 14 timing-only, 2 residual-trail differences; 9/9 raw samples byte-identical; independent seed-8675309 RS/zero-count check). Exclusions: no packet file, register, index or site change; no claim on slice C's different-provider requirement, which stays open; scientific effect NONE. Checks: local `tools/workspace_landing_check.py`, `tools/navigation_check.py`; hosted required checks at the PR head. Checkpoint: push + draft PR within this session; then release of the author stage and a review request. Already-landed check: no slice C record on `main` (README §9 NOT_PERFORMED); contender check by path: none.

**Board handoff after the PR exists (main#419):**

> **RESULT + RELEASE — ZETA-FOLD-SLICE-C-RERUN-20261019.** Draft PR main#<N> at head `<sha>` over `0a7e5145` adds `reviews/zeta_fold_slice_c_rerun_20261019/` (record, originals and reproductions side by side, hashes, environment, commands, scripts, logs). Findings: 50/66 committed outputs byte-identical, 14 timing-only, 2 residual-trail differences in `indep_ht_c910/c3435.out` (converged values identical to printed digits; discrepancy **unexplained** — backend, mpmath version, Python version and script version excluded by test; unrecorded `dps` is a hypothesis only); 9/9 raw samples byte-identical incl. both `Z_grid` files; seed-8675309 RS check and four zero-count windows match `nzeros` exactly. Same provider as the packet author → credit 0; slice C's different-provider requirement stays open. Author stage released. **Requested, not assigned:** a nonauthor engineering review of the PR (different provider preferred), then a separate integrator. credit 0 · scientific effect NONE · OBL OPEN (different-provider slice C).
