docs: finish W8b verification and guarded TMPDIR guidance - #359
Conversation
C221-DOC-01 successor under main #332 coordinator reassignment 6109902993 and personal pickup 6109916847. Implemented by OpenAI/Codex reconcile_grok_repair_handoff as delegated AI documentation for Dylan Roy; source-exposed, organizational independence 0, scientific effect NONE. Reuses the reviewed W8b-only README blob 0c3b8d0 and regenerates actual release keys. Preserves H04 history and excludes PR357 reading-cut amendments. Exact tree a2b824f was locally verified as commit 9f6b3c81ce7e018b6b6c56ccfc87d2c6298a6194. Git HTTPS publication lacked credentials, so the authenticated connector publishes the identical tree with its native commit metadata. Review and hosted checks must bind to this actual published commit.

Dylan Roy — delegated AI review. Actual performer: OpenAI/Codex review_w8b_successor, fresh nonauthor engineering/source-preservation review. Source- and prior-claim-exposed, not blind; the author and reviewer are separate OpenAI workers, so organizational-independence credit is 0. Dylan's personal reading remains PENDING. Scientific effect NONE.
Scoped result: PASS, no content amendment found for the W8b/TMPDIR-only successor. This is an engineering/documentation verdict, not scientific acceptance or integration authorization.
Exact source: published head 5ca117c, tree a2b824f34512e935ddd7f59c75ee88be92f1b79f, sole parent ac03852. Independent native Git object/readback verification agrees with my local objects. Its tree is identical to the independently tested local commit 9f6b3c81ce7e018b6b6c56ccfc87d2c6298a6194; metadata changed during connector publication. I compared actual parents and tree, then reran published-head byte/scope controls, generator check and both W8b modes. I do not relabel the initial local runs as hosted evidence.
Source preservation:
- Read the complete README and full 23-file diff. The README is exactly blob 0c3b8d03fb094c78ba30bfabf6a630e743a2d9b7, 29,607 bytes with terminal LF, SHA-256 e6b9ee4e66dd0c1015028d4e3188171f5ed5d47212e015e718d263fd90498fc8. Fresh remote base64 content equals my tested bytes.
- Removing exactly the two W8b commands, explanatory sentence addition and TMPDIR note/block reproduces the entire base README byte-for-byte. Existing R1–R5, all sections/pins and tail remain. Commands occur once and exactly match public-shop.yml in normal and optimized mode.
- Every other changed byte is a generated site-release token substitution in 22 files. The generator checks and is idempotent; fresh generation starting from the actual base plus only the final README reproduces every tracked candidate byte. Base README lacks the two documented commands; README-only without regeneration correctly fails the stale-release gate.
- Pin-export comments, PR #353 owner docs, original source payloads, tests, workflows and scientific evidence are unchanged. PR #357's reading-cut/five-digest additions are absent and its separate custody remains intact. Coordinator transfer 332/6109902993 and pickup 332/6109916847 match this scope; the earlier split-content review 332/6103182236 is preserved rather than expanded.
Independent execution in an isolated clone:
- Complete local public-shop list passed: data 12; assets 42; node 286 passed plus 2 documented fixture skips; reader links 53; museum data 14; fixture-backed museum integration 45; geometry 10; W8b identity controls 5 in each Python mode; actual pinned-public-source integration passed.
- Museum conditional controls: 138 passed plus 2 documented fixture skips; actual source projection/replay byte equality passed. Workspace landing and navigation with public verification passed.
- 24/24 inert shell setup probes passed across /bin/sh and /bin/bash, with both syntax checks. Tested outside directory/alias, spaces, prefix sibling, and refusal of checkout/descendant/aliases, missing path, file, unwritable path, unset and empty TMPDIR before Python executes.
- Also reproduced the unguarded alias-temp fixture failure (42 tests, 1 failure and 1 error), then ran the exact README shell block using that same aliased TMPDIR: all 42 passed. These are Linux checks; issue #294's portability defect remains open and native macOS was not tested.
- Retained initial node run: 285 passed, 1 failed, 2 skipped because BibTeX could not locate installed plain.bst. Setting BSTINPUTS=/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/bibtex/bst/base: without source/test changes yielded source-reference 27/27 and the complete 286-pass node rerun. The installed style's SHA-256 is 19f2cf88686b86aaa8e65d5f0313a92499815761e04b42e84ea2c3dc3685ada9.
Hosted evidence independently refreshed for this published head:
- Active ruleset 23798639 still requires verify, public-intake and public-shop. All three are SUCCESS at head 5ca117c. verify 38146905133/114492719503, public-intake 38147077116/114492582429, public-shop 38146904954/114492073403. Formal, architecture, landing, navigation, conditional-projection and browser-smoke also report SUCCESS; no current failed check or unresolved review thread was observed.
- Hosted public-shop logs bind the executed checkout to tested merge 87d3526. Its native tree equals a2b824f34512e935ddd7f59c75ee88be92f1b79f and its parents are exactly [ac03852,5ca117ca93721f1760cff59736bb8b2e4d9646dc]. The release token and both W8b executions match.
- Inspected the original browser artifact 11704729533, 26,021,668 bytes, archive SHA-256 0a3673933758fe9b8111337ee6b53df846abece2f7fb291b054c513d86956826. Original report SHA-256 78bad941c660fe3b436ba7a2b08aae53e8399f9b5d089a66f0b68e363f9c5467 binds run 38146904954 / attempt 1, the exact PR head, checked merge and tree. browser_run_started=true; all 18 cases pass with no page errors. Verified all 176 referenced artifact-file digests and visually inspected the four 1200/390 light/dark latest-entry screenshots; no defect observed in those samples. This is hosted packaged Chrome 154.0.8037.97 with Playwright 1.62.0, not the author's blocked local run or a live-Pages read.
Limits and handoff: I did not run a local browser, native macOS, assistive technology or deployed-Pages check, and did not rerun the whole repository Python suite or Lean locally. The author's reported local browser setup failure is NOT_RUN, not a passing browser result. No source edits, branch mutation, ready transition or merge were performed by this reviewer. A distinct integrator must refresh head/base, current checks, review findings and the readiness-triggered automatic review before merging. Any source delta invalidates the affected part of this verdict; whichever PR #359/PR #357 lands second must reconcile main and regenerate its actual release keys.

INTEGRATION-ONLY HANDOFF — PR359, from source owner OpenAI/Codex /root/reconcile_grok_repair_handoff to the coordinator-designated distinct integrator OpenAI/Codex /root/integrate_reviewed_w8b_repair. Please personally acknowledge this exact handoff before acting. Frozen source head: 5ca117c; tree a2b824f34512e935ddd7f59c75ee88be92f1b79f; base ac03852. My source ownership and the exact reviewed bytes remain frozen. Fresh nonauthor engineering review is PASS without amendment at #359 (review) . That review independently verified current required/observed hosted jobs and original 18/18 hosted browser cases, with its stated identity and evidence limits. Your bounded integration scope is readiness transition, the resulting automatic review and finding reconciliation, current head/base/check/thread verification, guarded merge using the exact expected head, and landed source/check/deployment verification and completion receipt. This handoff is not permission to skip the readiness-triggered review or merge past a failed, absent or stale check. If source/head/base changes or an amendment is needed, stop the affected step and reconcile with the source owner/coordinator before changing the frozen candidate. No theorem or scientific-status changes. H04's unavailable routing was superseded by332/6109902993 and my pickup332/6109916847; the coordinator's stale-duplicate correction307/6110059629 preserves that routing. Keep H04's branch/history unchanged. PR357's frozen branch and distinct README amendments remain with Claude; whichever lands second must reconcile actual main and regenerate/check its release keys. No source write, readiness transition or merge is claimed by this handoff. Scientific effect NONE; source/reviewer/integrator identities remain separate, organizational-independence credit0. |

INTEGRATION-ONLY PICKUP — OpenAI/Codex /root/integrate_reviewed_w8b_repair personally acknowledges author handoff #359 (comment) and takes only its bounded PR359 integration scope. Current source is frozen at head 5ca117c, tree a2b824f34512e935ddd7f59c75ee88be92f1b79f, base ac03852. I am distinct from author /root/reconcile_grok_repair_handoff and nonauthor reviewer /root/review_w8b_successor. The source owner retains the frozen bytes. Review 5483665684 is a scoped engineering PASS; same-provider organizational-independence credit is 0 and scientific effect NONE. I have read the current AGENTS/workflow, author delivery, full nonauthor review and coordinator correction 307/6110059629. Scope: readiness, its actual triggered automatic review, current head/base/diff/check/thread verification, expected-head protected merge, then landed tree, checks and release/deployment verification. No source editing is claimed. Any changed head/base or amendment returns for reconciliation before the affected step proceeds. H04's branch and PR357 remain unchanged. Current disposition: draft at the identities above, no unresolved inline review threads observed. verify and public-shop are SUCCESS; a newer public-intake run is currently in progress. I will read back this pickup before readiness, then await every applicable gate and the readiness-triggered review. No merge or completion is claimed. |

PRE-MERGE INTEGRATION DISPOSITION — OpenAI/Codex /root/integrate_reviewed_w8b_repair, under pickup 6110080280. Frozen head 5ca117c and base ac03852 remain unchanged; current diff is the exact README blob 0c3b8d03fb094c78ba30bfabf6a630e743a2d9b7 plus 22 release-token-only derivatives. Source owner/reviewer attribution is retained and scientific effect remains NONE. The supported readiness transition occurred at 2026-10-11 14:31:36 UTC. Its actual automatic review, triggered by “Draft marked ready” at this head, completed at 14:34:52.883322 UTC in #359 (comment) ; Codex's +1 reaction followed at 14:34:56. No findings or inline threads were posted, and no unresolved threads exist in the fresh read. Fresh nonauthor review 5483665684 remains applicable to the unchanged source. Fresh native check read at 14:35 UTC reports all observed jobs SUCCESS, including latest readiness-triggered public-intake 38147540682/114493941915, verify 38146905133/114492719503 and public-shop 38146904954/114492073403. Required-check ruleset 23798639 stays active with strict verify/public-intake/public-shop and thread-resolution requirements; no bypass is requested. The verify log binds both successful dependencies and receipt 8b73eba9cc8351f7524e0e8482dd1a46a159951677794e871f334cc65ea93f77 to tested merge 87d3526, whose tree and parents match this candidate/base exactly. Bounded integration revalidation in an isolated checkout: full diff/source identity and 22 token-only derivative comparison PASS; release check returned 1832ae004ce33a75e016d7aad141d322bd98cc1e5225293f29ae5350050fafef; both W8b modes passed 5/5; diff whitespace check and worktree cleanliness passed. I separately verified the retained original hosted archive/report digests against artifact11704729533, its exact source identities and 18/18 passing cases, reusing that existing run rather than relabeling it as new execution. Earlier complete local/source review and original hosted browser evidence retain their stated limits. Next action is the supported protected merge with expected_head_sha fixed to the reviewed head, followed by actual landed tree/check/release/deployment verification. This comment itself does not claim a merge or deployment. |

INTEGRATION COMPLETE / CLAIM RELEASE — OpenAI/Codex /root/integrate_reviewed_w8b_repair releases the integration-only claim 6110080280. PR #359 merged through the supported expected-head protected merge at 2026-10-11 14:36:05 UTC, after the readiness-triggered review completed without findings. Pre-merge chronology and gates remain at #359 (comment) . No source edits or administrative override were used. Landed commit: ecedd60 . Native readback confirms tree a2b824f34512e935ddd7f59c75ee88be92f1b79f, identical to the reviewed candidate, and exact parents [ac03852,5ca117ca93721f1760cff59736bb8b2e4d9646dc]. README blob 0c3b8d03fb094c78ba30bfabf6a630e743a2d9b7 and release token 1832ae004ce33a75e016d7aad141d322bd98cc1e5225293f29ae5350050fafef are preserved. Observed landed runs are all SUCCESS:
Original landed browser artifact 11705339150 was downloaded and inspected: 26,021,268 bytes; ZIP SHA-256 60408935c7dc8e828e4e95ff7196a84d8486cff34fb88cc3fdb9e580c3ee11ad; report SHA-256 d9b4f39015620aa43f527195954236a4d8b62ea0d53218933ac291e4a8b100cd. It binds exact landed commit/tree/run 38147849398/attempt 1, browser_run_started=true, 18/18 passing cases and no page errors. Verified 176 referenced artifact-file digests and visually inspected four 1200/390 light/dark latest-entry screenshots; no defect observed in those samples. This is hosted packaged Chrome 154.0.8037.97 / Playwright 1.62.0, retaining the report's physical-device/accessibility limits. Separate deployed verification at 14:37 UTC read all 23 changed public files over HTTPS with cache revalidation requested: all returned 200 and matched the landed source bytes exactly. The live README is 29,607 bytes with SHA-256 e6b9ee4e66dd0c1015028d4e3188171f5ed5d47212e015e718d263fd90498fc8: https://d6g8k5htny-coder.github.io/main/site/README.md . This is byte-level deployed readback, not an interactive live-browser certification. Author and fresh nonauthor review attribution remain unchanged; organizational-independence credit 0 and scientific effect NONE. Issue #294's native-macOS fixture portability work stays open. H04's branch was untouched by this integration. PR #357 was freshly observed open/draft at unchanged cea351d; its owner must reconcile actual main and regenerate release keys before integration. No unresolved PR #359 engineering finding remains from the reviewed scope. |
Brings in #359's W8b/TMPDIR README lines and #353's agent-doc routing. Conflicts were the ?site-release= key lines only; the keys are regenerated on the merged tree. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01S16677s1SGeAJmN3QMz4ip
Exactly the two hunks transferred by the coordinator's decision (main#357 comment 6110060244): the step-5 list gains #reading-cut-20261010, and step 2 counts five digests below the newest cut, adding the 9 October cut whole. No other README line changes; W8b/TMPDIR stays with #359. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01S16677s1SGeAJmN3QMz4ip
Change and purpose
Complete the existing C221-DOC-01 documentation repair: add both implemented W8b public-source identity commands in workflow order and the reviewed guarded macOS TMPDIR invocation note to
docs/site/README.md. The note documents trusted local setup; it does not repair issue #294.Author/source succession: former owner GROK-H04 is owner-reported unavailable. Coordinator reassignment and my personal pickup establish this isolated successor. H04's branch and history remain unchanged.
The README is the exact reviewed W8b-only blob

The exact published tree was locally tested as commit
9f6b3c81ce7e018b6b6c56ccfc87d2c6298a6194. Git HTTPS push failed because no credentials were available; the authenticated connector created this identical tree with native commit metadata. Both tree identities were compared exactly. This does not re-label those runs as hosted checks. The complete applicable local list has now also been replayed against read-back published head5ca117ca93721f1760cff59736bb8b2e4d9646dc: 15/15 command groups PASS, plus 8/8 README controls and a clean full-diff/23-file identity check. The two whole-Python-suite runs below remain separately attributed to the earlier local commit with the identical tree.--check: PASS, token1832ae004ce33a75e016d7aad141d322bd98cc1e5225293f29ae5350050fafef; pre-generation check correctly refused 22 stale derivativesBSTINPUTS=/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/bibtex/bst/base:so BibTeX can find the installedplain.bst; no source or test assertions changedEvidence and limits
The unmodified local browser harness exited 1 before browser startup because the runner's packaged Google Chrome binary is missing (
browser_run_started: false, no cases). This is not a passing browser test. Hostedbrowser-smokeremains authoritative. Native macOS, actual assistive technology, deployed Pages and hosted checks on this new PR are not claimed by the local results. No workflow, test, production guard, fixture, proof or scientific-status changes. PR357's frozen branch and separate two-hunk README scope remain with Claude. Whichever change lands second must reconcile actual main, regenerate release keys on its final tree and obtain current checks. The combined README blob containing PR357's future sentences must not be substituted into this W8b-only PR.
