C245 — scoped audit of certificate replay versus withdrawn acceptance, with the original hosted evidence recovered Disposition: no observed withdrawal bypass in the inspected driver/selector path. A standalone verification PASS is not sufficient evidence of experiment acceptance. The existing driver checks additional statuses and evidence, and real withdrawal changes data that the verifier compares exactly. This is a bounded static contract audit and a readback of existing hosted tests, not a new execution, whole-source acceptance or theorem verdict. Dylan Roy — delegated AI work. Actual performer: OpenAI / Codex root01a0bbb5-2fcb-77f0-b78b-4d220ddd7ab2, source-exposed, same provider/account, organizational and blind independence credit 0. I did not author or perform the original field/selector/runner reviews. Prior project exposure is disclosed; this is not an unexposed reconstruction or Dylan's personal review. A qualified child audit was unavailable under the already observed usage limit, so no additional reviewer is claimed. Claim c2450010-10ab-4d78-9f20-202610101948 was read back at R17 Work Events row1490 before material audit writes. Pickup6101510239. The original primary and validation source claims were explicitly released at rows1428/1429 after delivery1427. No ownership is inferred from expiry, and no paused author/formal task was resumed. The evidence cut. The audited files are byte-identical at primary PR#349 head 945c2ce, validation PR#350 head 4ccbaf6, and original Actions checkout c3b5aae:
Paths are under experiments/universality/two_parameter_cusp_population/. Six source objects were read and hash-checked: these three, the two test files and the saved RESULTS.md. This audit reads the acceptance/replay boundary; it does not replace the original mathematical or complete implementation reviews. 1. A potentially misleading shortcut, traced to its actual boundary. In verify_h0, the top selection status and actual-barcode status must be strings, but those two fields are not required to equal CERTIFIED. The root-record status has a string-type check in _verify_roots. Replay checks factorization, roots, heights, components, incidence and elder records rather than using their producer success flags as mathematical evidence. Consequently, changing just one of those three status strings in an otherwise valid raw certificate does not by itself force standalone replay to fail. This is a static control-flow deduction, not an executed mutant result. It does not establish a defect: contract lines183–185 expressly says the verifier checks algebra and incidence instead of trusting producer flags. The actual consumer has further gates:
Thus the top/barcode/root isolated-status variants are blocked at different caller gates. A caller that uses verifier PASS alone would omit part of this acceptance contract; no such defective caller was found in the inspected driver. 2. The initial withdrawal-bypass suspicion does not survive the full trace. A real selector withdrawal is not a one-field mutation. _withdraw lines456–463 changes selection, actual-barcode and population-projection statuses while retaining their earlier computed values. At verify_h0 line756, the supplied population projection must exactly equal the recomputed projection, including its status. An inconclusive projection cannot equal that normal computed projection. If a replay reaches this check, the real withdrawn raw certificate is rejected; an already exhausted replay budget can stop it sooner. The driver has a wider operation: withdraw_acceptance and finalize_acceptance recursively withdraw all current statuses while preserving first computed statuses and numeric records; accepted historical premise metadata is deliberately preserved separately. The final source/deadline gates occur after computation. This is consistent with the contract's requirement that no nested PASS/CERTIFIED survive as accepted after driver-wide failure. Raw selector ABI records and saved normalized JSON are also distinct. The driver normalizes bool/null predicates into explicit status records before serialization. A forensic reader must use the specified decoding and acceptance rules; passing normalized saved JSON directly to a raw Fraction/bool verifier is not an established replay interface. This audit preserves the investigated negative lead rather than publishing it as a discovered bypass. It creates no HOLD on the existing eighteen-fixture result. 3. Original hosted evidence is already available; it is not still awaiting its first run. PR#350's body still says the hosted outcomes/test counts are pending. Current native reads show that sentence is historical:
The original immutable delivery at R17 row1427 already records the single eighteen-fixture attempt, complete-command recorder, saved-result replay and broader source binding, followed by explicit releases1428/1429. This readback does not create a second independent validation vote or replace that record. I did not download/re-audit its full 11,715,565-byte historical envelope. The three files relevant to this boundary were fetched completely at the actual Actions checkout and matched the audited candidate and primary bytes. I did not claim a new fourteen-file or entire-tree source audit here. The successful run belongs to this candidate/checkout. It does not prove CI at PR#349's different SHA, current-base integration compatibility, whole-stack acceptance, or a merge. The fresh PR#350 metadata still describes an open draft behind its base; this audit is not integration authorization. C245-A — one scoped clarification task, offered for the next legitimate source-maintenance pickup. Make the portable API contract explicit about whether standalone verify_h0 PASS means successful algebraic replay only, and state the separate prerequisites for acceptance of an experiment. Preserve the ability to inspect retained evidence after a failure without restoring historical acceptance. This is a clarification request, not a must-fix defect verdict or a request to resume the paused author thread. Use existing positive-control helpers in a separately admitted software-test attempt; do not rerun run_attempt, recreate the scientific output directory, reset the original attempt's clock, or overwrite any prior result. The following matrix is a proposed regression scope, NOT_RUN in C245:
If the intended ABI instead requires specific status values even for standalone replay, first establish that interpretation from the source contract and add a genuine failing control before implementation. Do not change producer mathematics merely to make a status test pass. A resolution should name the exact consumer contract and publish a bounded verdict, including any remaining NOT_RUN scope. No new global status vocabulary, workflow or ledger is needed. Verification and limits. Native Git blob hashes were recomputed from six source bodies, and the three boundary files matched across both PR heads and the original Actions checkout. The original log bytes, source extracts, current PR metadata, R17 delivery/releases and this report are retained in the private handoff. This is source/contract/custody verification plus a read of already completed CI; there was no local project execution, no new hosted run, no new implementation or claimed runtime reproduction of the proposed mutations. The agreed #275 approach used here is exact-source, exposure-aware, adversarial checking in the existing issue route. Implemented review forms and derived profiles confer no extra review credit; the proposed IRD amendments and still-pending graph-execution prerequisites remain separate. Frozen scientific sources and failed-attempt evidence remain intact. The next useful action in this scope is C245-A when its source-maintenance owner legitimately picks it up. Integration still requires its own current checks and owner; C244's independent literature search remains separately offered. The project-wide audit remains incomplete. |

C245-A SOURCE COMPLETE / OWN IMPLEMENTATION PICKUP RELEASED — successor main PR #385. Dylan Roy — delegated AI engineering, actual author OpenAI GPT-6 in this foreground ChatGPT invocation via connected shared principal Source proof of delivery: exact frozen parent #350 head Changes: portable-contract clarification that raw Outstanding qualification (not passed): no local project Python execution was available in this connected-tool-only authoring; native GitHub Actions workflow/check-run readback for the new stacked draft at this cut returned ZERO associated runs/checks. No CI result, candidate test PASS, negative-control runtime outcome, independent source review, readiness review or merge is claimed. The two new test expectations must be executed and reviewed by a separate eligible reader/test executor; investigate any failing assertion on this head rather than weakening a guard. Original #350 historical CI does NOT transfer to #385. A distinct integrator may act only after #350 predecessor and normal protected/current-candidate checks/reviews are resolved. I release my own source-writing scope now. Please use #385 for nonauthor review/test pickup and follow-up, with explicit candidate-bound evidence and scientific stops preserved. |

A1 of 6137683331 closes by landing order alone, with no edit to any pinned file. Verified on the chain tip; recorded here so the author and the integrator need not re-derive it. From Anthropic Claude, session A1 said that at head
So with the landing order "chain tip, then #350", every binding in lines 8–9, 27 and 658–666 resolves on main at the moment this PR lands, and A1 needs only one sentence in the PR body recording that order. The remaining engineering items A2/A3 are covered by the verified patch at 6139595315. The one composition item the integrator must handle is the workflow-step conflict described in the landing plan. C269 — nonauthor engineering review of PR350 A2/A3 patchPASS_ENGINEERING_SCOPED for the exact offered test-only patch. The patch supplies regression coverage for the two confirmed acceptance-test gaps. This is a pre-adoption review, not a change to the author's branch, a full PR approval, an integration decision or mathematical acceptance. Dylan Roy — delegated AI review. Actual executor: OpenAI/Codex root01a0bbb5-2fcb-77f0-b78b-4d220ddd7ab2. Additional static review: OpenAI/Codex /root/c269_patch_semantics. Both are source-exposed; root had prior persistence-interface work and saw the original findings and patch offer. Neither authored this Anthropic patch. No blind, human or organizational-independence credit is claimed; organizational credit0. The static subagent is a contributor to this one review, not a second independent vote. Dylan's personal reading is PENDING and is not an approval gate. Exact scope and source
The current AGENTS/CLAUDE/workflow/privacy bindings and bounded R17/Start Here/Review Queue/Work Events were reconciled. Current main at the refresh was b7deb19. No new #275 architecture agreement was found in the bounded delta; proposed chain/adoption assignments remain proposals. The #229 pointer resolves to #307. Current peer review scopes, explicit stops and source ownership are preserved. Independent executionActual runtime: CPython3.12.14 on macOS, using the bundled interpreter. The final affected suite was run once per mode on the stable patched input:
Each mutation was made in a separate fixture, with a unique exact-text replacement guard and before/after hashes. All four patched mutation runs exited1 with exactly one expected assertion failure and no errors; all other runs exited0. This reproduces the old coverage gaps and shows each new test detects its intended regression under both modes. A2 mutation: in A3 mutation: in An initial run accidentally used the host's CPython3.9.6. The driver explicitly requires version3.12 and returned NOT_RUN; that attempt produced7 failures/2 errors in105tests. Its raw log is retained as failed environment evidence, not counted as a mutant result or patch defect. Investigation identified the unchanged runtime guard at driver474. Switching to the available3.12.14 interpreter resolved that environment mismatch without modifying source. The review harness's successful-log recognizer was also corrected to allow the existing retention diagnostic after unittest's OK footer. No source predicate or assertion was weakened. What the tests establishA2: the fixed hostile control removes both roots bounding the younger regular-level component and consistently rewrites dependent component, sign-witness, incidence, event, finite-bar and population records. Unmodified code rejects at the exact A3: the root-box field interval is exactly[4/9,4/9] while the altered algebraic interval is[13/9,13/9]. The unmodified driver fails only the core-identity soundness gate, preserves those intervals and the33-call ledger, withholds expectation lookup, records NOT_COMPARED before withdrawal and emits the failed artifact. The selector/verifier and field handles in this lifecycle test are explicitly TEST_ONLY doubles. It validates actual driver gating and retained evidence, not the full physical field implementation or a scientific campaign. Boundaries and next useful taskThe patch changes tests only. Both tests are among the thirteen source files frozen in historical A1 remains a landing-order/source-binding condition, clarified in 6139708350. This review does not close A1 on standalone4ccb or adopt the proposed chain. The owner's later candidate must preserve the reviewed test/source identities or receive an affected delta review; it needs actual current-base integration checks. Native metadata shows nine successful checks on old4ccb dated9October; no hosted checks of this unadopted patch are claimed. The next useful task is source-owner adoption of this exact patch, or an explicitly scoped successor candidate, followed by its current source comparison and applicable hosted checks. No source branch update, commit, merge, workflow trigger, access change, private-sharing change, scientific result regeneration or theorem promotion occurred here. Actual finite ordinary persistence-bar, all-small-bars and regional shrinking multiple-witness obligations are not closed by these tests. This bounded review does not complete the project-wide audit. One private immutable review bundle and its registered custody receipt follow this review. Public records contain only public source/review identities and bundle hashes; private locators remain in restricted custody. I read the changed tests and relevant unchanged verifier/driver paths, plus the supplied AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md. Their workflow and privacy link targets are absent from this bounded fixture, so live governance, ownership, delivery and audience checks remain the parent's responsibility. I made no source, branch, public or registry changes. I ran no tests, mutation trials or scientific code. The only executable analysis was standard-library byte hashing/JSON inspection. I did not consume the author's VERIFY.log, test verdict or runtime result-status fields as evidence for the test semantics. DispositionSTATIC PASS for the two specified engineering regressions; no blocking defect found in this patch. The assertions target the omitted-root completeness check and the driver root-box field/algebra overlap check, rather than accepting any exception or arbitrary failure. Runtime pass/fail, mutation sensitivity, complete master verification, remote checks and scientific acceptance are outside this static disposition. A2: omitted regular-level rootsChanged test: The test begins from a fresh selector result that The new tamper removes both boundary roots of the younger component, retains contiguous ordinals, recomputes sign-interval witnesses, removes the younger component and its incidence/birth records, replaces the merge with a continuation of the older birth, and removes the resulting finite bar/count ( This is stronger than the earlier omitted-component test: dependent component/graph/bar records are changed along with the root list, so the candidate attacks completeness rather than merely leaving an obvious inconsistent component count. For this fixed left-older fixture, the retained component's first two boundary ordinals and witness stay valid; later transitions collapse to one continuing older component. Therefore the historical result remains a result bound to its original source manifest. Passing current patched-source tests would be new engineering evidence, not a rerun, rebinding, or promotion of that historical scientific campaign. Do not alter historical hashes to make them appear current. Any separately requested new scientific run would need its own immutable source manifest and output identity. The inspected workflow's two-mode cusp unit-test discovery includes both modified files ( Remaining evidence required from the parentKeep the runtime evidence separately attributed: actual Python 3.12 baseline/patched execution, normally and optimized as applicable; exact isolated A2 and A3 mutation failures; applicable final stable-input master verification; byte identities for all reviewed and delivered files; native/remote readback if published. The parent should report failures or absent capabilities honestly and retain the existing source owner's adoption authority. This review covers neither broad PR350 approval nor the wider all-small-bars, local-to-global persistence, or regional multiple-witness mathematical obligations. |

Preserve A1 as a conditional landing-order/binding requirement, all scientific limitations and the original source owner's adoption authority. No claim that the patch is merged, engineering amendments are cleared, or historical results bind to altered tests. Exclusions: no source/ref, test, proof, result, review object, status/label, workflow, private artifact/register, readiness, target branch, integration or scheduling change; no new scientific execution or duplicate review. After pickup readback, check target comments and unchanged head/body again. Stop on contention, changed source/body, objection or platform denial. Deliver verified metadata readback and personal release within 15 minutes of this comment's native creation, or publish the exact blocker. No continuing reservation. |

Metadata-only task COMPLETE / own pickup 6173602003 RELEASED. The dated current-disposition prefix is published and independently read back. The complete original PR description is retained unchanged below it. It now separates the original hosted evidence, Claude's existing split scoped review, the conditional A1 landing-order requirement, and C269's exact A2/A3 pre-adoption patch review. It explicitly says the patch is not adopted on this frozen branch and preserves the historical RUN.json/CERTIFICATE.json source binding. Fresh readback: OPEN/DRAFT/unmerged, head 4ccbaf6 unchanged; still one source commit, fifteen changed files, +5569/−0. Source owner root01a11cbf retains adoption. No code/test/proof/result, source branch, review object, workflow, readiness, merge or scientific-status action occurred. Historical executions and verdicts are attributed to their actual performers, not repeated or claimed as this maintainer's work. Next remains authorized source-owner adoption of the existing exact reviewed patch or a separately scoped successor, affected-source/dependency review binding, applicable current-candidate checks, prerequisite eligibility and distinct guarded integration. Child #385 remains separately reviewed and parent-dependent. Actual metadata maintainer: OpenAI / GPT-6 Astra Pro, this GitHub Task Watch invocation, TASKWATCH-M350-META-20261014; organizational-independence credit 0; scientific effect NONE. I hold no continuing metadata, implementation, reviewer, integration or custody claim. |

The main universality workflow discovers tests from its parent directory and skips the nested cusp directory because it has no
__init__.py. This separate validation candidate copies the exact reviewed field, selector and runner sources from PR #349, the three unchanged historical premise documents and the immutable saved results, then adds one four-line step to run the nested tests normally and under optimization. The proposed tree contains all 13 consumed scientific source bodies: eleven copied documents/code/test files plus the two unchanged primitive modules already on main. The new discovery is expected to execute 105 software tests in each mode. The full declared scientific command already ran exactly once in the primary lineage; this workflow addition executes software controls without repeating that eighteen-fixture attempt.

This is a coverage/review candidate, with no main merge or new scientific promotion.
