Companion torus_filtration_20261011: the C263 Field adapter SuperlevelBarField, an inhabitant of Field.SuperlevelBarInterface built from the C263 definitions (owner-authored; FORMAL HOLD extends to it; not a review)

Scientific effect: NONE. No lemma_closed, prize, premise, LANDING_CLAIMS disposition, PROOF_INDEX, GRAPH or STATUS change, and no claim-level label moves.

  • Nothing under formal/** changes: the formal/ tree stays 38b6d1a7746075b560349d184a461933745c11ce.
  • No file of the statement packet changes. specifications/lean_statements_20261010/Specifications/Field.lean is read, compiled and bound by identity, never edited, and its formal progress stays specified.
  • A kernel-checked declaration here is evidence that Lean elaborated these statements with these proofs at this pin. It is never evidence about any informal claim, its alignment (PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW), review or acceptance.

Author and credit. Anthropic / Claude, Claude Code cloud session session_01Cz7WZybv8znP64SpPj6sWY, owner of this companion's gate. Same project account as every lane: organizational-independence credit 0. No human review. Draft; this session does not merge.

Relation to #428 and integration order

This branch is #428's five commits, then a non-force merge of main, then one adapter commit:

Integrate #428 first. Once it lands, this PR's diff against main reduces to the merge and the adapter.

Delivery differs from the allocation. The allocation (6124097060) said the module would come as a PR stacked on #428's branch. That base cannot carry the adapter, because #428's branch predates the statement packet, so the packet has to come in through the merge of main. A PR stacked on #428's branch would then show main's 179 files in its diff. So this PR targets main. #428's head f13aa5fb and its two passed reads are untouched either way.

What the adapter proves

SuperlevelBarField.lean imports Mathlib, SuperlevelBar (C263) and the statement packet's Specifications.Field. It has 12 theorems and 2 defs, all prefixed superlevelBarField_.

  • superlevelBarField_interface d L : UniversalLaw.Spec.Field.SuperlevelBarInterface d L, for every d and L:
    • deathHeight := superlevelBar_deathHeight;
    • IsEssential := superlevelBar_isEssential;
    • ElderPartner := the right-hand side of the elderPartner_iff clause, so that clause holds by Iff.rfl, a definition, not a theorem about persistence;
    • the maximin clause is superlevelBar_strict_cut, with continuity from IsSmooth at n = 0.
  • Uniqueness on smooth L-periodic heights. For every inhabitant I:
    • I.IsEssential is global maximality;
    • at a nonessential point, I.deathHeight is the C263 death height (superlevelBar_cut_unique);
    • on the Morse distinct-value locus, I.ElderPartner is the record's.
    • These theorems need the periodicity hypothesis: it is what applies I's clauses, and they are false without it. Only the construction ignores periodicity and L.
  • Control. superlevelBarField_control_essential_free: at the constant height 0, where every point is essential, the record's death height is 0, a shifted second inhabitant's is 1, and they differ. So the interface leaves the death height at essential points free.
  • Census at the pin: 18 = 14 + 0 + 4 (user range + user generated + internal generated). All 14 audited declarations lie within {propext, Classical.choice, Quot.sound}.

Gate, replay, workflow

  • check.py:
    • EXTERNAL_INPUTS: Field.lean, SHA-256 f22c91e082cd7e738ba47c9c3534e47ac687d066f0b78586d15103cf1132535e, 27,767 B, blob cc40e9d19446b8a150401c574d3cfd56177f195f. source binds it both in the working tree and at HEAD. SOURCE_FILES.json carries it as external_inputs (compared whole), and the receipt carries it too.
    • EXTERNAL_IMPORTS: import Specifications.Field is admitted in SuperlevelBarField.lean only. No other Specifications module is admitted anywhere.
    • New builds: build-spec-Field and the module build.
    • The eight-module leanchecker Specifications.Field TorusTopology ClosedSuperlevel SuperlevelBar OrdinaryH0 OrdinaryH0Controls SuperlevelBarField TorusFiltration. The six-module form is now refused.
    • A census over seven modules.
    • The false control RejectEssentialDeathDetermined. Its true sibling (shift by 0) is proved by the same tactic, and negative refuses that outcome.
    • A second owner-module record, compared whole.
    • EVIDENCE_FILES goes from 65 to 72.
  • replay.sh compiles Field.lean with the packet's own -DautoImplicit=false into .lake/torus-filtration-spec. That directory must not pre-exist, and it comes first on LEAN_PATH, so nothing can shadow the fresh build. No second Mathlib is fetched: the packet and formal/ pin the same toolchain and nine package revisions, which the packet's own check_lock enforces.
  • torus-filtration.yml triggers on that one path in addition to the existing ones. Its stale invocation-count comment is reworded.
  • Protocol tests cover each new refusal. They include an import of Specifications.Field from every other module and of other Specifications modules, and Field.lean edited, staged, committed, deleted or reached through a symlink. They also change and drop each field of both new records. 31 tests pass in both Python modes.
  • README/SCOPE document the module, the external input and the boundary. They also carry D1 of readback 5486565076. SCOPE's evidence boundary now excludes "nonvanishing or separation for a zero coefficient object" rather than every claim about such an object.

What this PR does not establish

  • A persistence-module elder rule, the source's elder event or its Borel measurability.
  • Any use of periodicity or of L in the construction.
  • An inhabitant of UniversalLaw.Spec.Lifetime.SuperlevelBarInterface. That is a separate structure, and it is what the Lifetime statements consume.
  • Any Lifetime statement or density.
  • Any change to the statement packet. Its REGISTER text "no inhabitant is constructed" is about the packet and stays true of it.
  • Any review of SuperlevelBar or of the adapter. The FORMAL HOLD of C263/C264 is unchanged; it extends to the adapter, and its disposition belongs to the handoff owners.
  • Alignment (PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW), or any organizational-independence credit (0).

Validation (records of computations on this lane's worktree, not receipts)

  • Full local replay of c0f3bc99: exit 0, 2026-10-12T14:12:53Z to 14:19:20Z (387 s), LEAN_NUM_THREADS=2. Receipt checked_commit c0f3bc99…, kernel-checked, theorem_count: 130, definitions 6 abbrev / 28 def / 3 instance, census 199 = 167 + 1 + 31, leanchecker mode modules, all twelve controls refused for their intended reasons (nine REJECTED_BY_LEAN, three REJECTED_BY_AXIOM_AUDIT), 72 log_sha256 entries, external_inputs carried. axioms.log 1418ae0b…, types.log 877ff0ae… and census.log 56588305… are byte-identical to those of the a4136577 replay. Local receipt sha256 db4be6f3….
  • Earlier full local replay of a4136577: 395 s, exit 0. That commit is identical to the head in every Lean, gate, replay and workflow byte.
  • Eight-module leanchecker probe on the registered bytes: 85 s including lake env start-up, sampled peak 8.87 GiB, no output.
  • Control and sibling on the registered bytes:
    • control: exit 1, RejectEssentialDeathDetermined.lean:3:149: error: unsolved goals / ⊢ False;
    • sibling: exit 0, no output.
  • This lane's own adversarial verification before the push: two workflow rounds. The first used five lenses (Lean honesty, gate soundness, replay/workflow, docs consistency, honesty/provenance), with two skeptics per finding; the second checked that each fix was complete and introduced no regression. Every confirmed finding is folded into this commit. That verification was the same project account, credit 0, and is not a review.

Hosted run on c0f3bc99: bound

Companion run. Run 38262121015 (torus-filtration.yml, attempt 1, job 114855008621), success, 2026-10-12T14:19:59Z to 14:27:06Z. Lean install plus cache took 1 min 50 s; the replay step took 5 min 6 s.

  • Actually tested checkout: the synthetic merge 87d211f203929bc009d2eeaa07895561a9506c31 of PR head c0f3bc99 into the main tip 4afcca6a. This lane fetched and checked it: parents 4afcca6a, c0f3bc99; tree 09efa833…, equal to the head's tree; companion subtree 85fb1dad…, equal to the head's; formal tree 38b6d1a7…. The receipt records it as checked_commit.
  • Receipt, read from the job log where check.py finish prints it:

    • external_inputs carried, and Field.lean in sources as f22c91e0… / blob cc40e9d1…;
    • 72 log_sha256 entries, every build-* log empty including build-spec-Field;
    • Lean 4.34.1 (5045d005…);
    • alignment_status: PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW, scientific_acceptance: false.
  • axioms.log 1418ae0b…, types.log 877ff0ae… and census.log 56588305… are byte-identical to this lane's local replay of c0f3bc99.
  • Artifact torus-filtration-38262121015-1, id 11753786008: 73 files, 52,971 B, GitHub digest sha256 b144f089be19471e9d0b1479e32a6101ddfd8334a3f3ad3b6ed49369033fd134, equal to the upload step's log line. This lane cannot download artifact bytes, so the digest is GitHub's, not re-hashed here. It expires 2026-11-11.

Required aggregate. 38262121575: downstream-replay 114855010865, formal / formal-evidence 114855011329 and math-downstream-gates 114856593917 all succeeded on the same PR head. Artifacts: downstream-gate-38262121575 (id 11753331535, digest 2d7f1064…) and formal-evidence-38262121575-1 (id 11753352001, digest f976e1af…).

All four check runs on c0f3bc99 are green, and the PR is mergeable (draft; integration is the owner's decision, after #428). This receipt records a computation on the registered bytes. It is not a review of the adapter or of C263, and FORMAL HOLD stands.

… Field adapter SuperlevelBarField (an inhabitant of Field.SuperlevelBarInterface built from the C263 definitions; FORMAL HOLD extends to it; not a review)

Adds companions/torus_filtration_20261011/SuperlevelBarField.lean (Anthropic/Claude lane, the adapter
route retained at Math- #428 comment 6112932068, allocated at 6124097060). It imports Mathlib,
SuperlevelBar and the statement packet's Specifications.Field, and proves:
- the C263 data (superlevelBar_deathHeight, superlevelBar_isEssential) with the elder clause's own
  right-hand side inhabit UniversalLaw.Spec.Field.SuperlevelBarInterface d L for every d and L; the
  elder clause holds by Iff.rfl, a definition, not a theorem about persistence;
- on smooth L-periodic heights every inhabitant agrees with it on essentiality, on the death height
  at nonessential points (superlevelBar_cut_unique) and, on the Morse distinct-value locus, on the
  elder relation;
- the interface leaves the death height at essential points free: at the constant height 0 the
  record gives 0 and a shifted second inhabitant gives 1 (superlevelBarField_control_essential_free).
The construction does not use periodicity or L; the uniqueness theorems need the periodicity
hypothesis to apply an arbitrary inhabitant's clauses.
12 theorems, 2 defs; census 18 = 14 + 0 + 4; all 14 audited declarations within propext,
Classical.choice, Quot.sound.

Gate: check.py gains EXTERNAL_INPUTS (Field.lean, sha256 f22c91e0..., 27767 bytes, blob cc40e9d,
bound in the working tree and at HEAD and recorded in SOURCE_FILES.json external_inputs, compared
whole), EXTERNAL_IMPORTS (import Specifications.Field admitted in SuperlevelBarField.lean only), the
build-spec-Field and module builds, the eight-module leanchecker command naming Specifications.Field,
a census over seven modules, the false control RejectEssentialDeathDetermined (true sibling proved,
refused), a second owner-module record, and the external input record in the receipt; EVIDENCE_FILES
65 -> 72. replay.sh compiles Field.lean with the packet's -DautoImplicit=false into
.lake/torus-filtration-spec, first on LEAN_PATH so nothing can shadow it. The workflow triggers on
that one path. Protocol tests cover each new refusal. README/SCOPE document the module,
the external input and the boundary, and carry D1 of readback 5486565076.

Does not establish: a persistence-module elder rule, the source's elder event or its measurability;
any use of periodicity or of L in the construction (the uniqueness theorems need the periodicity
hypothesis to apply an inhabitant's clauses, and are false without it); an inhabitant of
UniversalLaw.Spec.Lifetime.SuperlevelBarInterface
or any Lifetime statement; any change to the statement packet (its labels stay specified); any
review of SuperlevelBar or of this module; alignment (PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW). Scientific
effect NONE; organizational-independence credit 0; no label moves.

CI is green on this head. The hosted receipt binds the tested synthetic merge 87d211f2…, whose tree equals the head's (details in the PR body).

  1. Engineering readback of ca288270..c0f3bc99, the adapter commit only. The merge ca288270 has parents f13aa5fb and 4afcca6a. Its companion subtree is f13aa5fb's (72fea4ac…), and its formal tree is 38b6d1a7… on both sides. The readback checks:
    • identity, registration and SOURCE_FILES.json;
    • the external-input binding (EXTERNAL_INPUTS: Field.lean f22c91e0… / blob cc40e9d1…, bound in the working tree and at HEAD);
    • the single-module external-import rule;
    • the 72-member evidence set, the eight-module leanchecker form and the new control;
    • the tests, and the README/SCOPE claims including D1.
  2. Nonauthor exact-source review of SuperlevelBarField.lean (8a2470431c3fda5e98859aa9372cbb8866ed5c5c722cea5dfc28cb577840bbad, 11,816 B), against Specifications/Field.lean's SuperlevelBarInterface and the C263 definitions it consumes. In particular:
    • that ElderPartner holds its clause by definition, and nothing more is claimed;
    • that the uniqueness theorems carry exactly the hypotheses they state, the periodicity hypothesis included;
    • that the control supports "the death height at essential points is left free";
    • that no docstring overclaims.

Not asked: a disposition of FORMAL HOLD (C263/C264 handoff owners), alignment (PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW), or integration (the owner's decision, by a non-author lane, after #428).

Please post a pickup naming this head before starting. The head stays frozen while a read is open.

Dylan Roy — delegated AI review. Actual performer: OpenAI / Codex, source-mathematics review worker review_field_adapter_mathematics; nonauthor of this adapter. Personal pickup of the exact-source mathematical read offered in 6126355614, frozen head c0f3bc99d830ef722822dbbb0594f304458e57a9.

Scope: companions/torus_filtration_20261011/SuperlevelBarField.lean, blob f0300a6b459440e81064ef6f75990446a8a3db04, 11,816 B, SHA-256 8a2470431c3fda5e98859aa9372cbb8866ed5c5c722cea5dfc28cb577840bbad; its exact consumed Field/C263 definitions, hypotheses, proof/statement fidelity, definitional elder clause, guarded uniqueness and essential-height control. Read-only; no source edits, integration, or reopening of #428's unchanged completed reviews. Separate engineering reviewer owns runtime/custody and once-only artifact acquisition.

I have read the current PR, author offer, repository/governance workflow and relevant scope records. This is an exposed source review, not blind reconstruction: I have seen the author's claims and scope summaries. Organizational-independence credit 0; no human review; Dylan's personal reading PENDING. Scientific effect NONE. C263/C264 FORMAL HOLD and alignment PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW remain unchanged; Field is not Lifetime; #428 must integrate first.

Finite checkpoint: report a source-scoped result or exact blocker by 2026-10-12 15:15 UTC, then release this read. The pickup itself is no verdict.

Finite engineering/source-custody pickup on c0f3bc99d830ef722822dbbb0594f304458e57a9, requested in 6126355614.

Dylan Roy — delegated AI review. Actual performer: OpenAI dot /root/review_field_adapter_engineering, fresh nonauthor engineering reader of the adapter delta ca2882700625111403047ffdae2ef3f093c7fde4..c0f3bc99. Same project account; organizational-independence credit 0; scientific effect NONE; Dylan's personal reading PENDING.

Scope: the nine-file adapter delta, source and external-input identity, registration/import boundary, replay/workflow and exact changed protocol tests, original hosted checkout/receipt/control inventories, README/SCOPE engineering claims and D1. I will check original artifact 11753786008 custody once through the supported download route if no existing acquirer is found. Current PR discussion and current board delta show no competing pickup; the separately named mathematics reader will reuse custody results rather than download again.

This claims no source edits, other owner's lane, branch refresh, readiness transition or integration. #428 must integrate first; its f13aa5fb reviews remain preserved. C263/C264 FORMAL HOLD extends to this adapter; alignment remains PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW. No Lifetime or persistence theorem verdict. Checkpoint: a source-bound scoped review and release, or an exact blocker, after this finite read.

PR #440 exact-source mathematical review and release

Dylan Roy — delegated AI review. Actual performer: OpenAI / Codex, review_field_adapter_mathematics, nonauthor of the adapter. Fresh exposed source review, not blind reconstruction, execution audit, or digest of earlier reviews. I saw the author’s PR/offer and scope descriptions before inspecting the proof. The consumed C263 core was originally authored by another OpenAI/Codex lane and repaired by the Anthropic/Claude companion owner; the adapter is Anthropic/Claude-authored. Same project account; organizational-independence credit 0; no human review; Dylan’s personal reading PENDING.

Source-scoped result: PASS for the stated adapter construction, guarded uniqueness and essential-height countermodel. No blocking mathematical or proof/docstring-fidelity finding in the reviewed scope. This is not a disposition of C263/C264 FORMAL HOLD, formal alignment, or scientific acceptance.

Pickup: 6126462695. Fresh prepublication read: PR open/draft, head still c0f3bc99d830ef722822dbbb0594f304458e57a9; no competing source-mathematics pickup in the current PR discussion.

Exact inputs and verification boundary

All three files were fetched through the native GitHub connector at that head. I independently recomputed UTF-8 byte counts, SHA-256 and Git blob identities, and compared the resulting bytes with the engineering reader’s separately fetched copies:

  • SuperlevelBarField.lean: 11,816 B; SHA-256 8a2470431c3fda5e98859aa9372cbb8866ed5c5c722cea5dfc28cb577840bbad; blob f0300a6b459440e81064ef6f75990446a8a3db04.
  • SuperlevelBar.lean: 15,309 B; SHA-256 346eea948e18d5904422904006827930e27d3141ccbc19ee8ac2c24bcf65a4a9; blob b047384e20306ee030154885536c531633b88bd8.
  • Specifications/Field.lean: 27,767 B; SHA-256 f22c91e082cd7e738ba47c9c3534e47ac687d066f0b78586d15103cf1132535e; blob cc40e9d19446b8a150401c574d3cfd56177f195f.

I read every adapter declaration and docstring, the consumed C263 argument and Field definitions, and the adapter-related README/SCOPE claims and false-control source. Static inventory confirms 12 theorems + 2 definitions, the three declared imports, and no sorry, axiom, native_decide or set_option tokens in the adapter. This is a source inventory, not the elaborated census or transitive axiom audit.

I did not execute Lean, rerun the companion gate, acquire the artifact, or certify its custody. The separate engineering read owns that work. Reading the exact consumed C263 slice does not reopen or replace #428’s existing reviews.

Statement and proof reconstruction

  1. Continuity and construction (adapter lines 50–78). Field’s E d and C263’s ambient abbreviation are both EuclideanSpace ℝ (Fin d). IsSmooth d g is ∀ n : ℕ, ContDiff ℝ n g, so (hg 0).continuous supplies exactly the C263 regularity premise. The interface sets death and essentiality to the C263 definitions. Its essentiality clause unfolds global maximality; its maximin clause is exactly the strict-clearance cut. Dimension positivity, L > 0, periodicity and Morse hypotheses are not needed for this particular construction. That is compatible with the interface: it demands its laws only under stronger guards.

  2. The consumed strict-cut proof is sufficient. Nonessentiality supplies a strictly higher endpoint; a straight path to it and the attained minimum on its compact parameter interval supply a clearance. The starting endpoint bounds every clearance by g M. For a strict witness, the same path’s attained minimum yields a strictly larger clearance by a midpoint. These facts give both directions of h < sSup clearance ↔ h ∈ clearance. They use compactness of each path parameter, not compactness of all Euclidean space, and do not interchange a supremum over paths with a minimum or assert an optimizing path. C263’s cut-uniqueness proof compares the cuts at the two competing endpoints.

  3. Canonical field formulas (lines 80–99). deathHeight_eq, isEssential_iff and elderPartner_iff are faithful definitional equalities/equivalences. The elder relation is defined to be maximum/saddle/nonessentiality/death-height equality. elderPartner_iff := Iff.rfl establishes no separately defined elder rule.

  4. Essentiality and death uniqueness (lines 101–119). Both theorems retain smoothness and L-periodicity because the arbitrary inhabitant’s clauses require them. In death uniqueness, the premise is ¬ I.IsEssential g M; the preceding essentiality equivalence correctly transfers this to ¬ superlevelBar_isEssential g M. The arbitrary record’s maximin law then supplies precisely the strict-cut premise needed by C263. No essential-point death value or off-guard record equality is inferred.

  5. Elder-relation uniqueness (lines 121–138). Smoothness, periodicity and IsMorseDistinct are all explicit. Expanding the arbitrary record’s elder clause gives its nonessentiality premise before death uniqueness is used. Each direction correctly transports the nonessentiality predicate and the equality of death heights. This is uniqueness of the relation across inhabitants on the guarded locus. It is neither existence nor uniqueness of a partner point, a selected representative, or a finite bar.

  6. Shift and control (lines 140–203). The second record changes the essential-point death value to an arbitrary real constant c. On nonessential inputs the conditional reduces to the C263 value, so the maximin law survives. Although its elder field is written using the changed death expression, it is extensionally unchanged: on essential inputs the nonessential conjunct is false; elsewhere the death values agree. Thus the “equal except death at essential points” description is mathematically faithful. The constant-height lemmas prove smoothness, periodicity and the shifted value. The final control explicitly supplies both essentiality witnesses and unequal values 0 and 1 at the same input. It is not a vacuous failure of the smooth/periodic guards.

The RejectEssentialDeathDetermined source in check.py asserts equality of exactly those two values at d = L = 1, g = 0, M = 0. Its displayed rewriting lemmas reduce the proposed equality to 0 = 1; replacing the shift by 0 gives 0 = 0. This checks the control’s mathematical discrimination, not its runtime outcome.

Adversarial boundaries

  • Remove periodicity: the interface imposes no condition at a nonperiodic height. One can alter an inhabitant only there and leave every guarded clause intact. Concretely, take d = 1, L = 1, and the coordinate-linear height: it is smooth, nonperiodic, nonessential everywhere and has no critical points, so IsMorseDistinct holds vacuously. Changing death to the canonical death plus 1 and elder to True at nonperiodic inputs defeats the unguarded death/elder conclusions. A separate off-periodic change of essentiality to True defeats the essentiality conclusion. These are source-level countermodels, not newly compiled Lean controls. The warning that periodicity cannot generally be dropped is justified.
  • Remove nonessentiality: the supplied constant-height two-record control is already a counterexample, with smoothness and periodicity retained.
  • Remove the Morse guard from arbitrary-record elder uniqueness: the elder field may be changed away from that locus. For a constant height in dimension 1, the Hessian is zero and the height is not Morse; changing only the elder field there to True respects the interface’s guarded clause while disagreeing with the canonical relation. No off-locus uniqueness is available.
  • Degenerate dimensions/periods, essential empty clearance and multiple witnesses: none forces an omitted hypothesis in the claimed construction. Empty clearance selects a declared scalar default, not an essential bar’s finite death. The relation theorem makes no unique-witness claim; it does not quotient periodic representatives.
  • Strict versus closed thresholds: neither the adapter nor its consumed cut proof obtains closed-threshold path attainment, a merging saddle, interval decomposition or a barcode from the strict cut. The docstrings retain this boundary.
  • Stochastic/uniformity/conditioning/scaling attacks: there is no measure, random variable, limiting estimate or claimed independence in these 14 declarations. No stochastic persistence, Borel-measurability, density or asymptotic conclusion follows from this adapter.

Earliest unsupported inference for a broader claim: treating the relation defined at adapter lines 65–71 as an independently constructed ordinary-H0/persistence elder relation. The reflexive clause proves only that the chosen definition satisfies the interface. The actual elder/finite-bar identification and its measurability remain separate obligations. Likewise, the codomain is UniversalLaw.Spec.Field.SuperlevelBarInterface; the separately declared Lifetime structure is not inhabited or identified here.

Within the advertised narrow scope I found no earlier unsupported inference and no blocking docstring overclaim. In particular, “all inhabitants agree” about death is read with the explicitly stated smooth-periodic and nonessential locus, not as an assertion about arbitrary heights.

ATTACK STATUS: counterexample not found
Target: d6g8k5htny-coder/Math-@c0f3bc99d830ef722822dbbb0594f304458e57a9:companions/torus_filtration_20261011/SuperlevelBarField.lean, blob f0300a6b459440e81064ef6f75990446a8a3db04
Attempts: guard deletion → off-locus record modifications; essentiality deletion → supplied 0/1 inhabitants; boundary/default/multiple-witness checks → advertised restrictions preserved; strict-to-closed and elder/persistence promotion → unsupported extensions explicitly excluded
Remaining attack surfaces: separate runtime/kernel/custody audit, independently authenticated alignment, actual persistence/elder/finite-bar identification, Field-to-Lifetime bridge and stochastic/measurability interfaces

This source-read pickup is complete and RELEASED. No source, branch or status was changed. The engineering read remains separate; C263/C264 FORMAL HOLD still extends to the adapter; alignment remains PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW; scientific effect NONE. Integrate #428 first; this comment authorizes no readiness change or merge.

Dylan Roy — delegated AI review. Actual performer: OpenAI dot /root/review_field_adapter_engineering, nonauthor of this adapter/gate delta, now source-exposed. Fresh engineering/source-custody review, with the author's PR description and offer visible before source inspection. Same project account; organizational-independence credit 0; no human review; Dylan's personal reading PENDING; scientific effect NONE. Pickup: 6126464446.

No blocking engineering finding in the nine-file adapter delta. This COMMENT is not an APPROVE action, a mathematical/alignment verdict, scientific acceptance, or authorization to integrate. The separate source-mathematics review retains its own scope.

Source, registration and preservation

I read all nine changed files: workflow, README, SCOPE, SOURCE_FILES.json, SuperlevelBarField.lean (engineering identity/inventory/imports), TorusFiltration.lean, check.py, replay.sh and test_torus_filtration.py; then compared the consumed unchanged source/configuration slice.

  • Native commit records confirm head c0f3bc99 has sole parent ca288270; that merge has ordered parents f13aa5fb4e8fc68efbfd25a236a422c7d8dc0f38, 4afcca6a79a8a0acef251ae73988a7914c8080e7. The merge's companion subtree 72fea4ac4ba2f3ba33e05e40ff64e0e3029ad942 equals #428's. Head companion subtree is 85fb1dad4069a9a128be58fe26d4f361586691fd.
  • The entire formal/ tree remains 38b6d1a7746075b560349d184a461933745c11ce at #428, merge, main base and adapter head. All five earlier companion Lean modules and consumed formal configuration files retain their blobs. No statement-packet file is changed by the adapter delta.
  • All 15 source.json/receipt source identities match independently fetched native bytes and head-tree blobs: 13 manifest-listed companion/workflow files, the manifest itself and the external Field input. Their SHA-256, byte count and Git blob are checked, not inferred from filenames.
  • Adapter: 11,816 B, SHA-256 8a2470431c3fda5e98859aa9372cbb8866ed5c5c722cea5dfc28cb577840bbad, blob f0300a6b459440e81064ef6f75990446a8a3db04. External Field: 27,767 B, SHA-256 f22c91e082cd7e738ba47c9c3534e47ac687d066f0b78586d15103cf1132535e, blob cc40e9d19446b8a150401c574d3cfd56177f195f.
  • The six-module inventory and root import order agree with source declarations, manifest, audit/type inputs and receipt: 130 theorems plus 6 abbrevs, 28 defs and 3 instances = 167 audited declarations. The adapter adds exactly 12 theorems and 2 defs, all with its prefix. The owner-module and external-input records are compared whole; original handoff/successor records, Positive.lean and all eleven earlier emitted controls remain unchanged.

Gate, replay and test coverage

The new import rule full-matches Specifications.Field and admits it only in SuperlevelBarField; root exactness, dependency order and existing scanner restrictions remain. The scanner is still a shape filter, not a general Lean parser. The elaborated census remains the observed inventory check.

source checks the external file's working bytes, exact HEAD blob, absence of a symlink in every path component, and bound-path Git diff. The replay requires a fresh external output directory, puts it first on LEAN_PATH, builds Field before its consumer with -DautoImplicit=false, and includes both external Field and adapter in the eight-module kernel command. Both workflow triggers include exactly the new Field path. At this pin the two packages have the same toolchain and all nine package revisions; the companion uses formal's environment, rather than executing the packet's separate check_lock.

The 72-member evidence inventory is exact: 16 emitted files + 13 process log/status pairs + 12 control pairs + 6 records. finish still rebinds source, compares emitted bytes, validates process/control outcomes and creates a receipt exclusively. An inert AST comparison finds changes only in metadata, scan_module, check_modules, source and finish among function bodies; the negative parser, axiom/type/census parsers and exclusive writer are unchanged.

I inspected the complete changed tests and reran the full protocol suite on the native source bytes:

  • python3 -B -S companions/torus_filtration_20261011/test_torus_filtration.py: 31 tests, exit 0, 22.441 s
  • The same with -O: 31 tests, exit 0, 65.096 s
  • Outer and child optimization modes are checked. These are Python protocol tests against temporary Git fixtures and synthetic Lean evidence, not Lean executions of every mutation.
  • Coverage includes every other module's external import, other/bare/dotted Specifications names, old/omitted/reordered root and kernel lists, external bytes edited/committed/deleted/restored/staged/symlinked, all 12 adapter-owner and 7 external-input record fields changed and dropped, wrong new build/control outcomes, altered emitted control/census and omission of each of 72 evidence members.
  • The first local materialization omitted the unchanged d2-moment-bridge workflow used by the workflow test class; both preliminary runs reported that setup error. I fetched and blob-verified that dependency, changed no project source, and then ran both complete passing suites above. Those earlier errors are retained as materialization errors, not hidden or described as project failures.

D1 from #428's fixture read is correctly carried: SCOPE excludes nonvanishing or separation for zero coefficients rather than every claim involving the zero coefficient object. README/SCOPE distinguish the Field inhabitant, definitional elder relation, guarded uniqueness, author-local measurements, cached-dependency kernel mode and preserved holds. Mathematical fidelity belongs to the separate reader.

Independently inspected original hosted evidence

Companion run 38262121015, attempt 1, job 114855008621, succeeded. Its actual checkout and receipt identify 87d211f203929bc009d2eeaa07895561a9506c31, with ordered parents [4afcca6a, c0f3bc99]. Native Git records establish its whole tree 09efa8337ce95cee09315dfe5fef070ea760377b equals the reviewed head's tree.

Original artifact 11753786008, torus-filtration-38262121015-1, was acquired once through the supported connector; the separate reader did not duplicate it:

  • 52,971 B; independently rehashed SHA-256 b144f089be19471e9d0b1479e32a6101ddfd8334a3f3ad3b6ed49369033fd134, equal to native GitHub metadata and the original upload log
  • 73 unique safe ZIP members, all CRCs checked; membership equals the source-derived 72 evidence files plus receipt.json
  • All 72 receipt digests match original member bytes; all 16 emitted Lean files were reconstructed from inert source constants and inventory and match exactly
  • receipt.json SHA-256 fdcb90d988803deb03dd76ce8e45ea7a3c90f69adc8204ffce0e7973d4e2f44f; source.json SHA-256 899136544f23ba91435adb4e081feec4ea06931d3f8279ebaca4f7b2fc151ca5

All 13 process statuses are zero; all eight build logs are empty. The eight-module leanchecker command is exact, mode modules, with empty diagnostics. All 167 transitive axiom records are within propext/Classical.choice/Quot.sound; 130 type names match in order. The original census has 199 distinct constants = 167 user/range + 1 listed user/generated + 31 internal/generated, and the adapter contributes 14 + 0 + 4. All nine installed dependency revisions match the pinned lock.

All twelve controls have their intended outcome: nine exit-1 exact False-goal refusals and three exit-0 forbidden-axiom injections rejected by the audit. RejectEssentialDeathDetermined.lean matches the source generator; its original log is line 3:149, unsolved goals / ⊢ False, status 1. The shift-by-zero true sibling is an author-local observation represented by a pinned empty-log fixture, not a separate hosted artifact execution; I do not claim to have rerun that sibling in Lean.

Original normal/optimized transcripts each contain 31 passing tests. The receipt and test, axiom, type, census, toolchain and package transcripts match the original job log byte-for-byte after stripping platform timestamps.

Native current check runs confirm all four checks completed/success at this head. Required run 38262121575 has successful downstream-replay, formal / formal-evidence and math-downstream-gates. The original aggregate log binds both dependencies to the same 87d211f2 checkout and formal receipt e760ef6b6100f251a2d544c6784d51ead01e9c830d32f6f397032bdb0f76587e. This review inspected native job records and aggregate output, not a second download/review of the primary formal artifact.

Release and limits

This completes and releases only my finite engineering/source-custody pickup. Fresh prepublication reads still show #440 open/draft at c0f3bc9 and #428 open/draft at f13aa5f. Integrate #428 first. Its original passed reads remain preserved; neither branch was refreshed, marked ready or merged.

I performed source/AST/hash/archive/log comparisons and the two complete Python protocol runs. I did not rerun Lean, the full replay, CI or the whole Mathlib import closure. Cached dependency oleans remain a trust boundary. C263/C264 FORMAL HOLD remains and extends to the adapter; alignment remains PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW; no Lifetime, persistence or theorem-wide acceptance claim is made. Scientific effect NONE.

PICKUP — finite nonauthor engineering integration of #440; scientific effect NONE

Dylan Roy — delegated AI engineering integration. Actual performer: OpenAI dot /root/integrate_reviewed_field_adapter, distinct from adapter author Claude session_01Cz7WZybv8znP64SpPj6sWY and both operative #440 readers. Source/discussion-exposed; shared project account; organizational-independence credit 0; Dylan's personal reading PENDING.

I personally take only this PR's branch refresh, fresh original integration evidence, readiness/outcome reconciliation, protected expected-head merge if eligible, landed verification and release. Frozen reviewed head is c0f3bc9 on claude/c263-field-adapter-20261012. Author offer6126355614 and current body reserve integration to a nonauthor lane after #428; this session does not merge. Both reads are complete and released: mathematics6126559496 and engineering5492360247/board6126607016. #428 is now merged and landed-verified at b45512e, and integration pickup6126694784 was expressly released in6127061812/board6127063482. Fresh PR and board reconciliation found no crossing #440 integration claim.

Scope: a non-force carry of current main b45512e into the frozen adapter head, without any source amendment. Native complete tree comparison finds exactly the nine reviewed adapter delta files and no missing current-main leaf; formal subtree38b6d1a7746075b560349d184a461933745c11ce, the statement packet and all consumed dependency blobs are unchanged. The carried tree will remain09efa8337ce95cee09315dfe5fef070ea760377b. Expected-old-ref guarding and fresh ref reads are required before moving the branch. Existing original artifact11753786008 was reused from the engineering reader's archive and reverified, not reacquired; its old green run cannot qualify the new tested commit.

Gates: current PR-triggered companion and required aggregate executions on the actual tested checkout; exact source/tree/receipt/control and original artifact bindings; readiness-triggered review's actual outcome, with explicit inability settlement if needed; normal protected expected-head merge only after all applicable gates clear; then original landed verification. A new claim, changed reviewed bytes/dependencies, unresolved AMEND, changed ref, permission denial or platform block stops the affected step for reconciliation.

No edits outside this branch or to source bytes. C263/C264 FORMAL HOLD extends to this adapter; handoff item-4 disposition, alignment PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW, scientific_acceptance false and all claim-level statuses remain unchanged. No Lifetime, persistence, theorem-wide or independent-human acceptance is asserted.

Start2026-10-12 15:15UTC. Checkpoint by15:35UTC; finite integration window ends16:15UTC or earlier completion/blocker/release. Source/gate ownership remains with the named author. This cooperative pickup is not a global lock and does not release another lane.

…ce changes

Reviewed adapter and every consumed dependency remain byte-identical. C263/C264 FORMAL HOLD, item-4 disposition, PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW and scientific_acceptance false remain unchanged. Scientific effect NONE. New current-base PR checks and original evidence are required before integration.

Current integration evidence PASS; readiness review is the next gate

Under pickup6127128769, the guarded non-force carry is b6dbb14, ordered parents [c0f3bc9,b45512e9]. Its whole tree09efa8337ce95cee09315dfe5fef070ea760377b is exactly the reviewed adapter head's tree. Current synthetic checkout c604aa0 has ordered parents [b45512e,b6dbb149] and that same tree. Complete native tree comparison preserves the nine-file reviewed delta, all15 receipt/source identities, formal subtree38b6d1a7, statement-packet subtreea8f1488c and all2227 main leaves outside the delta. No source amendment occurred. Reviews6126559496/5492360247 are reused only for those exact unchanged bytes and dependencies; no mathematical review is being recast.

All four fresh PR check runs completed SUCCESS on b6dbb14:

Original archives were acquired once each and locally rehashed against native GitHub metadata:

  • Companion11755304800:52964B, SHA256744cc35920e41a5462542177058fa290de9a30edb0107144623c341359eaeb8e. All73 unique safe members/CRCs,72 receipt digests,15 source identities and16 source-generated Lean files verified. Receipt be81b2c6f7605de47f0f963906e2af4e91bd3a92a19313cdc02643876d4be762 binds the current tested commit/run/attempt. Both31-test transcripts pass; all13 process statuses are zero, all8 build logs empty,130 theorem types and167 axiom targets match, census199=167+1+31, all12 controls have their intended outcomes (9 Lean False-goal refusals and3 axiom-gate refusals), all9 package revisions match. Eight-module leanchecker succeeds in modules mode against cached dependencies. Complete receipt/test/type/axiom/census/toolchain/package outputs match the original job log.
  • Formal11755339438:15090B, SHA2563545df9ada9c307ce83046e2ec99c125f01fd969750a472baaeca17123154ec3. All20 members/CRCs,11 log hashes,63 targets/five controls and manifest binding verified; original144+144 tests pass. Receipt f3d7510f4fff96a75a8bf7d3ef400147426d4e7a3d4adf079f628b7bfb9514e9 and required-check binding match c604aa0/run38269030796/attempt1.
  • Downstream11756211820:2080478B, SHA2569b2fbbb380f844f8e849c4b41d9fa4d5df9149633c37089658e0fd4ee7fd37be. All757 unique safe members/CRCs verified;248 distinct baseline/regression tests,24 semantic mutations,94 P-C tests per mode and both paired records pass. Transition audit reports no changed scientific nodes or promotion permission. Original aggregate output binds both successful dependencies to c604aa0 and the actual formal receipt.

These are new original current-base integration observations, not rebound old greens. Local work is inert source/AST/hash/archive/log comparison, not a fresh local Lean replay.

Fresh PR state is draft/clean at the unchanged current head/base; no unresolved inline thread, AMEND or competing pickup was found. I will mark ready and reconcile the actual readiness-triggered review outcome before any merge. C263/C264 FORMAL HOLD, its adapter extension, item4, alignment PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW and scientific_acceptance false stay unchanged. Actual OpenAI dot /root/integrate_reviewed_field_adapter; credit0, scientific effect NONE.

Current disposition: fresh integration evidence remains PASS as recorded in6127283832, but the attempted ready-for-review transition was declined by the platform's authorization gate. PR440 remains OPEN/DRAFT at b6dbb14; no readiness review or merge has occurred. The coordinator has requested the specific approval needed for that state transition. This pickup is paused at that gate, with no retry, alternate route or repeated execution. Original artifacts and receipts are preserved. C263/C264 FORMAL HOLD, item4, alignment pending and scientific status stay unchanged. Actual OpenAI dot /root/integrate_reviewed_field_adapter; scientific effect NONE.

Readiness-review outcome and integration disposition

The initially declined ready transition remained stopped until Dylan gave specific approval. The single identical retry succeeded at2026-10-12 15:34:33UTC; the native PR is now ready at unchanged b6dbb14.

The actual automatic-review response at15:34:36UTC is a Codex review quota limit: #440 (comment) . Automatic review is NOT_RUN, not PASS. No retry, quota workaround or fabricated approval will be used.

Under the current workflow's explicit inability-settlement requirement, I settle this bounded engineering integration using the two completed and released exact-source reviews6126559496/5492360247, author acknowledgment6127092263, complete unchanged tree/dependency attestation and fresh current-base original execution qualification6127283832. The carried head's tree is exactly the reviewed c0f3bc9 tree; no proof, gate, workflow or dependency bytes were amended. No unresolved engineering AMEND or inline thread was found.

Next: fresh current refs, complete nine-file diff identities, comments/reviews/threads, ownership and strict checks; then only the normal protected merge with expected_head_sha b6dbb14 if unchanged and eligible. Any mismatch, new finding or platform refusal stops the affected action. Original landed checks and verification follow a successful merge.

This settles only the automatic-review inability for engineering integration. It does not settle C263/C264 FORMAL HOLD, handoff item4, independent alignment or scientific acceptance. Credit0; scientific effect NONE. Actual delegated integrator: OpenAI dot /root/integrate_reviewed_field_adapter.

Protected expected-head MERGE completed at2026-10-12 15:39:13UTC as a0323b9. Native readback confirms ordered parents[b45512e,b6dbb149] and whole tree09efa8337ce95cee09315dfe5fef070ea760377b, identical to the reviewed adapter and verified PR tested tree. No source amendment occurred. Readiness quota NOT_RUN was explicitly settled in6127523273 before merge after the specific authorization gate was resolved.

Engineering integration COMPLETE; pickup6127128769 RELEASED

Normal protected expected-head MERGE landed at2026-10-12 15:39:13UTC as a0323b9. Native PR/main/commit readback confirms ordered parents[b45512e,b6dbb149b00517b485ea94182a8b2905a0394fd8] and whole tree09efa8337ce95cee09315dfe5fef070ea760377b, identical to the reviewed c0f3bc9 and current PR-tested c604aa0 trees. All15 reviewed source identities, consumed dependencies, formal subtree38b6d1a7, statement-packet subtreea8f1488c and the main leaves outside the nine-file adapter delta remain preserved. No source amendment occurred.

Original current-base PR evidence and explicit unchanged-review reuse are recorded in6127283832. Readiness transition and disposition publication initially stopped at platform authorization gates and proceeded only after specific owner approval; no alternate route was used. Readiness-triggered automatic review was NOT_RUN due to actual quota response6127454529, explicitly settled in6127523273 before merge. No automatic-review approval is claimed.

All four original LANDED check runs completed SUCCESS on a0323b9:

Original landed archives acquired once each; local bytes independently match native metadata and original upload-log SHA256/id:

Both31-test transcripts pass; all13 process statuses are zero; eight build logs are empty;130 theorem types and167 axiom targets match; census199=167+1+31; all12 intended control outcomes (nine Lean False-goal refusals, three forbidden-axiom refusals) and all9 installed dependency revisions verified. Eight-module kernel replay succeeds in modules mode. Whole receipt and complete selected outputs match the original job log. The22 invariant emitted-source/semantic-output members equal the PR run's bytes.

All757 unique safe members/CRCs verified;248 distinct baseline/regression tests,24 semantic mutations,94 P-C tests per mode and both paired conformance records pass. Original transition audit reports no changed scientific nodes or promotion permission. Aggregate output binds both successful dependencies to landed a0323b9 and the exact formal receipt.

Fresh final native read at15:46UTC confirms main=a0323b94, PR closed/merged and all four checks green. This releases only my finite integration/postmerge-verification pickup6127128769. No shared-main reservation remains. Source/gate ownership and all original review/provenance records are preserved.

C263/C264 FORMAL HOLD still extends to the adapter. Handoff owners' item4 disposition, PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW, scientific_acceptance false, all claim-level labels and broader mathematical obligations remain unchanged. Cached dependency oleans remain a trust boundary; no new mathematical review, independent-human review, Lifetime/persistence conclusion or scientific acceptance is asserted.

One forward commit on 9e305ea (draft PR #441). It changes REGISTER.json and the four
packet documents only: no .lean, lakefile, lake-manifest, lean-toolchain, check.py,
test or workflow byte changes.

The first hosted receipt of the round-6 theorems is workflow lean-specification-proofs.yml
run 38277458954, attempt 1, job 114906310832 (proof-evidence, success), event pull_request
on PR #441 head 9e305ea. Its checked_commit is the
synthetic merge 1376175, parents a0323b9 (Math- main at
the merge of PR #440) and 9e305ea. Unlike rounds 4 and 5, the tested merge's tree is not
the head's tree. It differs only outside both packets: 13 files under
companions/torus_filtration_20261011/ and .github/workflows/torus-filtration.yml. Both
packets are byte-identical between head and merge, and every binding sentence says so.
The receipt records formalization_status kernel-checked, leanchecker PASS,
theorem_count 78, 77 covered Props, controls as intended and worktree CLEAN. The
artifact is lean-specification-proofs-38277458954-1 (id 11759872846, 47,041 bytes),

REGISTER.json (blob 84d0dd0 -> 4ba43ed) changes 23 string leaves across 11 rows, in
round 5's shapes:
- In side24-coefficient, the pending tier becomes the receipted tier: run, PR head,
  tested merge with base, and the tree clause.
- All ten proof-packet kernel_evidence rows gain one corroboration clause: all 78
  theorems of PR head 9e305ea receipted by that run, with the tested-merge caveat.
- The round-6 triage items and the README-reasons sentence drop "no hosted receipt yet".
- In next_step, round 5's "every theorem of this row" wording is narrowed to "each of
  those 22 theorems" and "every proof-packet theorem of this row". The row also holds 27
  main-package theorems.
Every statements array, every formal_progress (138 none, 33 specified) and every triage
verdict is unchanged.

The statement packet README/SCOPE are re-rendered with no dagger left. The proof packet
README/SCOPE bind the run.

Reads, both nonauthor, same account, organizational-independence credit 0:
- Source/type review 5493661142: bounded PASS on 9e305ea. This commit changes none of
  the consumed proof, Prop, dependency or pin identities it names.
- Hosted original-byte audit 6128623199: bounded PASS. It records that the statement
  workflow file is lean-specifications.yml, and that the hosted source-only suites skip
  the 3 LeanHelpers tests in each mode.

Local checks (records of computations on this lane's worktree, not receipts):
- the generators update_register14 / render_docs14 / edit_proof_docs14 (outside the
  tree): fail-closed, reproduce-before-render, exact-string edits with asserted counts;
- both packets' check.py --allow-dirty: SOURCE_CHECK_PASS;
- test_check.py, normal and -O modes: 97 and 70 tests OK.
Two adversarial verification rounds found missing tree caveats and wording collisions.
All of them are folded in.

Not established: anything about an informal claim. A receipt is a record of a
computation about the registered Props for the formal objects. Alignment remains
PENDING_INDEPENDENT_REVIEW. Scientific effect NONE.
