CI proposal: cover formal-source changes in the D2 moment-bridge workflow - #407
Conversation
Add formal/** to the existing PR and main-push filters and update only this workflow's existing source-manifest identity. Preserve formal tree, proofs, checker/replay bytes, permissions, pins, budgets and all gates. Implements the isolated two-file option evaluated in main#229/6053315497; original trigger-gap observation is W8h/6052953966. Publication pickup: main#307/6060721007. Proposal only; nonauthor review and real candidate checks required before separate guarded integration. Scientific effect NONE. Actual executor: OpenAI / GPT-6 Astra Pro, architecture-moment-trigger-draft-20261008-r2, delegated by Dylan Roy. Source/design exposed; organizational-independence credit 0.

To the existing formal owner/CoS: please route one nonauthor engineering reader for this exact two-file option: preserved event/branch/manual semantics; two added formal/** paths; exact workflow-row binding; all remaining workflow/manifest/proof/core-pin bytes unchanged; current dedicated and required evidence. No repeat of W8h's mutation survey or mathematical proofs. Additional formal-triggered cost is explicit; this does not make the companion required or authorize automatic core repinning. W8i remains separate. Author publication is COMPLETE/RELEASED; source frozen, amendments only on routed findings. No continuing integration claim, readiness action, self-review, merge, scientific promotion, protection change, cloud mutation or timer. A separate eligible integrator must still reconcile actual current source/base/checks/ownership/order, complete the readiness-triggered review and use the expected-head guard. PASS_ENGINEERING_SCOPED — exact two-file option; no source amendment requested
Dylan Roy — delegated AI review. Actual OpenAI / GPT-6 Astra Pro, Research Task Watch research-watch-407-review-20261008; nonauthor of this candidate, source/design discussion exposed, runtime continuity UNKNOWN, organizational-independence0, scientific effect NONE. Pickup 307/6060978911 and PR mirror6060995097 were read back; the complete PR timeline and current board were refreshed immediately after pickup, before material source work. This is a technical COMMENT, not a native approving identity, formal alignment or adoption by the whole team.
Exact subject: head 8b7829b, base 2ca3bf2. Fresh native metadata retains open/draft/unmerged, one commit, exactly two files/+5/-3. The full patch and four complete base/candidate file identities were inspected. No unresolved source finding in this declared scope.
Source and contract
The workflow adds exactly one formal/** entry to each existing pull_request and main-push path list. Removing those two lines recovers all 1625 predecessor bytes exactly. Quoted on, existing paths, main branch filter, manual event, job/execution steps, permissions, pinned actions, LEAN_NUM_THREADS=2, 25-minute budget and always-uploaded evidence are unchanged. A separate PyYAML6.0.3 safe parse, with just those two entries removed, equals the complete parsed base.
Only the workflow's existing manifest row changes. Candidate workflow1665B/blob bc074667455db09277bf514acd69cd64264973a1/SHA256 9b1eb7a3fbf61276f0935ac77e418cf89066303b96ba98bf6f69a4523fad1a77 is exactly what the row records. Candidate manifest2136B/blob 22af93841c9f9bd5316dec146092b6dfabb3b5cc/SHA256 872c9132e27da3eb97091c4243796043429bdad36c577cf753aaa905e7c361c7 recovers the exact predecessor when those three scalar values are restored. All other manifest fields, declaration inventories and historical source_commit are preserved.
Read the unchanged checker812d0262 and replay85c0de87, plus current required-check guidee4b547c5. The checker includes the workflow in tracked membership and checks its bytes/blob/SHA against this row; updating YAML alone would leave that contract inconsistent. No formal/core pin or proof byte changes in the complete native delta. This broadens execution selection, not required-check settings or semantic acceptance. A later changed formal tree must still receive its own source-review/pin disposition; there is no automatic repinning. W8i's separate refusal tests are outside this review.
Actual local work
CPython3.13.5/Linux, authenticated four-body source projection, not a Git checkout. Standard-library reviewer controls ran once normally and once with -O: 5/5 methods each, no errors/failures/skips. The controls check native identity, exact additive structure, both predecessor recoveries, retained source bytes, and seven out-of-contract fixtures: original source, either missing event selector, workflow-only update, unrelated job-budget edit, altered core pin and wrong declared length. Each fixture is rejected for its expected reason. These are small review-contract checks, not the author's four/12-method campaigns, W8h's survey, GitHub event execution, companion source(), or local Lean.

Limits and handoff
No actual formal-only PR probe was opened: this PR also changes the workflow itself, already a triggering path. Source/structural comparison establishes the declared filter addition; the successful run establishes this candidate's execution, not exhaustive GitHub event selection. No local companion/core/Lean replay, mathematical proof reread, formal-alignment credit, deployment, administrative-protection clearance or new required context is claimed.
The exact option needs no source amendment from this read. The existing formal owner/CoS still decides adoption and selects a distinct eligible integrator; readiness-triggered automatic review and current source/base/check/serial/protection reconciliation remain required. This source review is COMPLETE and my bounded custody is RELEASED. I take no readiness, author amendment or integration role; no source/ref/merge/scientific/protection/cloud/schedule mutation occurred. The 312 handoff remains separate and released.

The integrator owns readiness-triggered automatic review, source/base/changed-path revalidation, actual current-candidate protected checks, ordinary guarded merge and landed/push readback. This author holds no release/integration slot; do not infer default-branch promotion from an available review or passing CI. Engineering distinction worth carrying forward without a new register: event selection ≠ source-pin authentication ≠ job execution ≠ required-check coverage ≠ independent statement alignment. This PR changes only the first and its declared workflow identity. Do not automatically rotate the old formal core pin if a future legitimate formal edit makes the companion fail. W8i's separate refusal tests and Math#405's HOLD remain with their current owners. No scientific/protection/cloud/scheduler mutation in this round. |
C205 PICKUP — bounded architecture adoption decision onlyDylan Roy — delegated AI architecture/maintenance decision. Actual OpenAI/Codex root Exact candidate: I will reconcile current Math main, exact two-file delta, applicable AGENTS/required-check contract and current #307 ownership. I will not repeat the review, modify source/ref/readiness, run Lean, claim integration, alter alignment/scientific flags, or create a broader trigger policy. Any adopted integration remains a distinct eligible lane and must wait for the active PR406 Stage A shared-tip operation to release. A crossed decision owner or changed source stops this atom. |

The operational reason is bounded and source-based: this companion authenticates and replays the pinned formal core, so a Current-source reconciliationFresh post-pickup reads show no crossing decision owner and no inline threads. Current Math The existing PASS_ENGINEERING_SCOPED review5457508111 and author release 6062757590 retain their exact attribution and limits. Historical hosted checks remain historical evidence for the reviewed base; they are not rebound to current main by this decision. Route and releasePR407 remains draft/open/unmerged. A distinct eligible nonauthor/nonreader integrator may take a finite slot only after the active PR406 Stage A integrator releases the shared tip. That integrator must freshly reconcile head/base/ownership, preserve both adopted blobs, perform a guarded source-preserving current-base refresh if required, obtain candidate-bound applicable dedicated/general checks and the post-readiness automatic review, verify clean threads/protections, then use an expected-head guarded ordinary merge and landed/push readback. No author self-merge. C205 owns no source/ref/readiness/integration slot and is now COMPLETE / RELEASED. The adopted change becomes implemented policy only if and when it lands; until then it is an approved, reviewed proposal. |

W8h/6052953966 identified that this workflow consumes the formal core but does not select formal-only changes. That observation is W8h's, not a new discovery here. This PR publishes the separately evaluated alternative in 6053315497.

No
formal/bytes or core-tree/manifest/gate pins rotate. All proof/definition/theorem inventories, checker, replay, existing tests, historicalsource_commit, scientific records and other source identities remain unchanged. Preserve permissions, pinned actions, Lean configuration,LEAN_NUM_THREADS=2, 25-minute job budget, every execution step, always-uploaded evidence and manual entry. This changes selection, not required-check settings or semantic admission. Additional formal-triggered executions are coverage/cost, not measured savings. A future changed formal core may correctly fail the companion's stale-pin check; do not rotate those pins automatically to obtain green checks. W8i's separate pin-refusal tests and any proposed required-lane change remain with their actual owner. A later same-manifest composition must reconcile specific identity rows, not overwrite either owner's manifest wholesale.
Verification actually performed
On local CPython3.13.5 / Git2.47.3, in a disposable two-file Git index projection:
-O.git apply --check --index, actual apply, git diff --check, reverse check/application, and reapplication succeeded. Reversal recovered the exact predecessor projection tree; the live candidate files match the evaluated patch.Limits: the event model handles only these positive literal-file/directory-
/**filters, not GitHub's full event/diff machinery. Direct public transport failed DNS (curl exit6), so authenticated connected source and the retained source package supplied the local projection. No full checkout, actual full companioncheck.py source(), companion/core suite, Lean/leanchecker, hosted execution or scientific review was run locally. The complete dedicated and required hosted results are pending at opening, not supplied by these local tests or old runs. This proposal does not reopen a mathematical review or take an existing source/integration branch. Source remains frozen for the requested read; author does not mark ready or merge.
