…hen short GitHub's AWS-hosted ubuntu-24.04 runners arrive with 13 to 17 GB free, and the Delphi dependency image (CUDA torch wheels) runs out of disk there, while Azure runners pass; of 103 Dynamo removal attempts since late October the only two on AWS runners were the two failures. The conditional cleanup step the polis-api job already has (remove the preinstalled .NET, Android and GHC trees when under 40 GB is free, printing df before and after) is added, byte-identical, before the first image step of the seven workflows that build the Delphi image on hosted runners. Observable change: none in the product. CI only: the same conditional "free runner disk when short" step the polis-api job already runs is added, byte-identical, before the first image step of the seven hosted workflows that build the Delphi image (dynamo-removal, dynamo-writers, embeddings-table, production-import, test-images, characterization-rerecord, tls-trust). No Dockerfile change.
Why: GitHub's AWS-hosted ubuntu-24.04 runners arrive with 72 GB of disk and 13 to 17 GB free, and the Delphi dependency image (CUDA torch wheels) runs out of disk there; Azure-hosted runners have 86 GB free and pass. Of 103 Dynamo removal attempts since late October, the only two that landed on AWS runners were the two failures, and nothing in the code range touched Delphi.
Evidence: all 41 workflows parse; the step is byte-identical to the polis-api one in every file (same five paths, same 40 GB threshold); 272 mocked runs under bash -e with the paths absent, partly present or all present, and with unparsable df output, each behave as the polis-api step does. Two independent review rounds (the second asked only that the step precede the Buildx setup in test-images, which it now does).
