GitHub template URL copies the entire monorepo, not a standalone app #39

Open

Description

@coderooz

Summary

npx create-expo-app my-app --template https://github.com/coderooz/expo-template-coderooz copies the entire monorepo into the generated project.

Observed

The generated directory contains packages/, docs/, examples/, Reports/, scripts/, opencode.jsonc, RELEASING.md, REPORT_INDEX.md, and keeps "workspaces": ["packages/*"]. This is not a clean standalone Expo app and contradicts the documented promise that scaffolds are standalone (not a monorepo).

Expected

A standalone app containing only the template app files (App.tsx, src/, assets/, config files).

Notes

The npm template path (--template expo-template-coderooz) produces a clean app. Docs were updated to warn that the GitHub URL is a monorepo clone for contributors; the underlying issue (repo root is simultaneously the template and the monorepo) remains.
