Summary

Follow-up to #447. On shorter desktop windows the agent question card grew past the session header and its title, minimize and close controls were clipped. On mobile the sheet header blended into the question list, and the transcript showed through between the sheet and the prompt.

Card fits the space above the prompt (SessionDetail.tsx, FormPrompt.tsx)

  • While a form is open (any width), the prompt overlay spans the full container as a bottom-aligned column, with pointer-events-none on the overlay and pointer-events-auto on its content so the transcript stays clickable.
  • On desktop the content wrapper gets max-h-full, and the card and its body can shrink (md:flex-initial), so the body scrolls inside the remaining height while the header and footer stay visible. The 70vh cap still applies on tall windows. A 12px gap separates the card from the session header.
  • The overlay height ResizeObserver now measures the content wrapper instead of the overlay, so the full-height overlay does not inflate the transcript's bottom padding.

Mobile sheet header

  • The grab handle and the Dismiss / title / minimize row sit on a tinted bar (bg-primary/10, border-b), with the title in the primary color, matching the desktop header.
  • The question list uses the darker body surface desktop already uses, with a little more top padding under the divider.
  • The prompt stack below the sheet gets an opaque background, so the transcript no longer bleeds through the gap.

Repo and remote project lists (RepoList.tsx, RemoteProjectList.tsx)

  • On desktop the outer padding becomes md:px-4 md:pt-4 and the scrolling list gets md:pb-4, so the last row of cards keeps bottom spacing inside the scroll area instead of sitting flush against the edge. Loading skeletons match.

Tests

  • New SessionDetail test covering the bounded desktop overlay.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Improved responsive spacing and scrolling for repository and remote project lists, including more consistent top and bottom padding.
    • Updated session form overlays so open forms fit within the available screen space while keeping headers and lower controls visible.
    • Improved mobile form presentation with clearer backgrounds, borders, and spacing.
  • Tests
    • Added coverage to prevent desktop form overlays from obscuring available content or the form header.

📝 Walkthrough

Repository and remote project lists receive responsive spacing changes. The session form prompt updates its styling and adjusts the overlay layout when a form is open. A desktop regression test checks the open-form overlay layout.

Changes: Responsive layout adjustments

Layer / File(s) Summary
Repository list spacing
frontend/src/components/repo/RepoList.tsx, frontend/src/components/servers/RemoteProjectList.tsx
Repository and remote project list containers now use medium-screen top padding. Their scroll areas now use medium-screen bottom padding.
Open-form overlay layout
frontend/src/pages/SessionDetail.tsx, frontend/src/pages/__tests__/SessionDetail.form-prompt.test.tsx
SessionDetail derives whether a form is open and adjusts the prompt overlay alignment, sizing, and pointer events. A desktop test checks the overlay and form card layout.
Responsive form prompt styling
frontend/src/components/session/FormPrompt.tsx, frontend/src/pages/SessionDetail.tsx
FormPrompt updates its desktop sizing and mobile header, title, and content styling. The form sheet’s fixed lower controls receive a background color.

The layout change is likely mergeable, but a browser geometry test should be added to prevent regressions in short desktop windows.

Test the card bounds in a browser.

The class assertions do not measure the rendered card. They can pass when a short desktop viewport clips the header or footer. Add a Playwright geometry test for the existing SessionDetail route. Use a controlled short desktop viewport to check the card against the session header and prompt, verify that the header and footer remain visible, and confirm that the form body scrolls. Keep React Testing Library assertions for form interactions.
