Summary

Stacked on #442. Linked remote opencode serve servers previously only supported chat. This makes the Manager's backend features work for remote sessions too. Local behavior is unchanged: every new serverId parameter defaults to local.

Server-aware event feed (sse-aggregator.ts, remote-server-events.ts, session-reply.ts)

  • onServerEvent((serverId, directory, event)) delivers local events as local and remote events from the hub. onServerConnected(serverId) fires on each upstream open. onEvent and onUpstreamConnected stay local-only.
  • Local-only state never sees remote events: active sessions, the restart guard, isDirectoryInUse and /api/sse/status. Remote subagents are tracked per server.
  • isSessionBeingViewed and isSubagentSession take a serverId. SSE visibility now carries activeServerId.
  • waitForSessionSettled(..., serverId).

Push notifications (notification.ts)

  • Remote events skip local repo resolution.
  • They link to /servers/:serverId/sessions/:sessionId through the new shared buildServerSessionPath, and use the server name in place of the repo name.
  • Payload data gains serverId and serverName.

Terminals (terminal.ts, routes/opencode-server-terminals.ts)

  • TerminalService takes a target { client, baseUrl, includeLocalCredentials }.
  • Remote REST routes live under /api/opencode-servers/:serverId/terminals, plus a WebSocket at /:ptyID/connect with the same origin check. Local GitHub credentials are never injected into remote PTYs.
  • Remote sessions show the terminal panel, on desktop and in the mobile drawer.

Permission auto-modes and goals

  • New server_id column on session_permission_modes and session_goals (migration 202610181300-session-server-scope). The open-goal unique index is now (server_id, session_id).
  • Auto-accept, fork inheritance, reconnect sweeps and goal continuation use the owning server's client. The goal auditor stays on the local client, because goalAuditorModel is a local setting.
  • Session ancestry caches per server.
  • The permission-mode menu and the goal bar are enabled for remote sessions.

Multi-runs (multi-runs.ts, session-launcher.ts)

  • multi_runs.repo_id becomes nullable, plus new server_id and directory columns (migration 202610181310-multi-run-targets, a data-preserving rebuild).
  • Remote isolated entries and fusions use the remote location.get → worktree.create / worktree.remove, with no local git, filesystem or setup steps.
  • Each remote project gets a Multi-run button.

Schedules (schedules.ts, db/schedules.ts, routes/schedules.ts)

  • repo_id becomes nullable on schedule_jobs and schedule_runs, plus a new server_id column on both and a job directory column (migration 202610181320-remote-schedule-targets).
  • Remote jobs run only in place (new in-place workspace mode); worktree modes are rejected.
  • New routes under /api/opencode-servers/:serverId/schedules. If the server is disabled or missing, the run is recorded as failed.
  • /api/schedules/all* includes remote jobs labelled with the server name. The local restart guard only counts local runs.

Navigation

  • Servers group in the mobile repo switcher and in the collapsed desktop rail.

Linked-server parity

  • Read-only Source Control panel for remote sessions (desktop tool panel and mobile dialog), backed by OpenCode vcs.get, vcs.status and vcs.diff. It shows the branch, working or branch changes, and per-file patches through the shared diff view. There is no commit, stage or push, because OpenCode has no API for them.
  • Remote events are broadcast to every client, the same as local events, so remote statuses, activity counts and the global permission prompt work on any page. Session-list and branch invalidation are now scoped per server, so a remote path can't refresh or overwrite a local repo at the same path.
  • Activity includes recent sessions from every enabled linked server. A failing server contributes nothing. Linked servers in the sidebar and mobile switcher show the same running / needs-input indicator as repos.
  • /sessions, /resume and /continue, tool shortcuts, new-session shortcut, mobile drawer activity, the Skills side panel and remote permission prompt titles now work on linked-server routes.

Review fixes

  • session_permission_modes is keyed by (server_id, session_id), with a table rebuild in the migration and in its rollback. Rollback deletes remote rows first. The open-goal index is only created when session_goals exists.
  • Remote schedule delete, clear-history and delete-run no longer require an enabled, registered server.
  • The schedule permission lock applies to remote scheduled sessions (lookup scoped by server).
  • A serverId: 'local' multi-run target is rejected with a 400.
  • Schedule mutations invalidate the list and run-detail queries.

Known gaps (not in this PR)

  • Still local-only: sandbox VMs, change walkthroughs, schedule worktree modes, file browser, preview, project actions, and the internal API used by the local OpenCode plugin.
  • Remote Source Control is read-only. "Branch changes" relies on OpenCode inferring the review base and shows its error when the history is ambiguous.
  • On remote reconnect, resync reaches only clients subscribed to that server's directories.
  • Remote multi-runs take a free-text base ref, because branch listing is repo-only.
  • The schedule Skills tab lists locally managed skills; skills that are unavailable on the remote are dropped.
  • No end-to-end run against a real remote opencode serve yet.
  • OpenCodeServerDialog.test.tsx failed once under full-suite load. It passes in isolation, 5 out of 5 runs.

1252-1253: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick win

Assert that the local auditor stays idle for a disabled server.

The test "recovers a remote goal using the remote client" (Lines 1182-1203) shows that recovery always runs the auditor on the local client. For a remote goal, remote.auditorCalls therefore stays empty in every case. The assertion at Line 1253 cannot fail, even if recovery ignores the disabled check.

The status: 'active' assertion also gives weak coverage here. If recovery runs and the local fake auditor returns no verdict that finishes the goal, the goal can stay active. Add the same local.auditorCalls check that the missing-server test uses at Line 1227.

Guard index creation when session_goals is absent.

Fresh databases run 026-session-goals before this migration, so the fresh-database scenario does not apply. However, legacy migration adoption can mark that migration as applied even when its schema change is missing. In that state, addServerIdColumn skips the missing table, but the unguarded index creation throws and blocks startup.

Remove remote rows before rollback restores the session-only index.

After up(), a local server and a remote server can each hold an open goal for the same session_id. down() then creates the unique index on session_goals(session_id) before it removes any rows. In that state, index creation fails and the rollback aborts. After the server_id columns are dropped, remaining remote rows in session_permission_modes and session_goals would also look like local rows. The other two rollbacks in this PR delete remote-target rows first. Do the same here.

Key permission modes by (server_id, session_id), not by session_id alone.

session_id is still the only primary key, but every read and delete now filters by server_id. Two servers can return the same session ID. This happens, for example, when the local OpenCode instance is also linked as a remote server. In that case:

  • On a conflict, setSessionPermissionMode rewrites server_id. The row moves to the other server, and that server's getSessionPermissionMode returns null.
  • insertSessionPermissionModeIfAbsent silently skips the second server's auto default.

session_goals already uses (server_id, session_id) for uniqueness. Make the primary key composite in both places: in the migration (rebuild the table) and in ensureSessionPermissionModesTable. Then use ON CONFLICT(server_id, session_id) and stop overwriting server_id.

Update the `session_permission_modes` schema in the migration and
`ensureSessionPermissionModesTable` to use a composite primary key on
`(server_id, session_id)`. In `setSessionPermissionMode`, change the upsert
conflict target to both columns and stop updating `server_id`, so permission

Reject serverId: 'local' in server multi-run targets.

LaunchMultiRunRequestSchema accepts serverId: 'local'. This target stores no repository ID and later cannot resolve through sessionTargetOfRun, so fuse and discard can fail with 409 'Multi-run target is no longer available' and leave the isolated worktree behind.

The local server also bypasses the repository readiness check and starts sessions in the request's directory. Reject the local server ID unless the shared schema rejects it.

Do not require an enabled server to delete a remote schedule.

deleteJobForTarget resolves the target before deleting the job. For a server target, that resolution requires assertServer, so a disabled or removed server prevents cleanup.

The schedule migration does not declare a foreign key from server_id to opencode_servers, and deleting a registry entry does not remove the schedule row. Apply the same server-independent cleanup to run-history deletion and server-job listing.

Apply the schedule lock to remote scheduled sessions too.

lockReasonForRoot returns 'schedule' only for local sessions. A remote scheduled session can therefore accept auto mode and use its stored mode instead of the schedule permission configuration.

Invalidate the list and run-detail keys in invalidateScheduleQueries.

TanStack Query matches query-key prefixes element by element. The string 'repo-schedule' does not match 'repo-schedules'. As a result, this helper does not refresh the per-repo job list ['repo-schedules', repoId]. The existing repo mutations refresh that list (for example, useRunRepoSchedule at Line 211).

This helper also misses ['repo-schedule-run', ...], ['server-schedule-run', ...], and ['schedule-run-detail', ...]. If a repo view calls useUpdateScheduleTarget, useDeleteScheduleTarget, useRunScheduleTarget, or useCancelScheduleTargetRun, the job list stays stale until a refetch from another source. After a cancel, the open run detail keeps showing running until the next 5-second poll.

Finalize cancellation when the remote server is unavailable.

cancelServerRun resolves the remote server before it loads the running schedule. If the server is disabled or removed, assertServer throws, so the request does not persist cancelled or release the active run. The affected job remains blocked from manual and scheduled retriggers until the server is restored or the backend restarts. Restart recovery marks the run failed, not cancelled, so it is only a workaround.

Handle only the unavailable-server error by loading the run without a remote repository context, persisting it as cancelled, releasing the matching active run, and disposing the monitor. Store the monitor for both normal and recovered runs. Add focused tests for disabled and removed servers, cancellation persistence, active-run release, monitor disposal, and later retriggering.

Add a read-only Source Control panel for linked servers backed by the OpenCode VCS API, broadcast remote events to every client, include recent linked-server sessions in Activity with per-server sidebar indicators, and enable the session picker, tool shortcuts, mobile activity, remote Skills panel and remote permission prompt titles.
…ble servers

Re-check monitored schedule sessions when their server's event stream reconnects, finalize cancellation without contacting a disabled or removed linked server, and tighten the disabled-server goal recovery test.

…tate

First-run state import copied the entire host OpenCode data directory, including snapshots, repos, binaries, logs and worktrees, which could reach tens of gigabytes, block startup, and recurse into the manager's own checkout. Skip those top-level entries and any entry containing the destination.
…rvers

The Servers section becomes a Local/server switcher shared by the desktop sidebar, collapsed rail and mobile repo sheet. Selecting a linked server lists its projects and sessions with the same navigation as local repos, and a remote project page mirrors the local repo page.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Do not reset the persisted selection when the server list fails to load.

useOpenCodeServers returns servers: serversQuery.data ?? []. If the listOpenCodeServers request fails, React Query v5 sets isLoading to false. In this state, servers is an empty array. The effect then finds no server and calls selectServer(LOCAL_OPENCODE_SERVER_ID). selectServer writes local to localStorage.

A single transient /api/opencode-servers failure therefore discards the user's persisted linked-server selection. The failure also switches the sidebar to Local while the route shows a linked server. The selection does not return when the next fetch succeeds.

Run the fallback only when the server list has loaded successfully.

A shell that exits with code 0 is now deleted and its tab removed, and the terminal panel closes when it was the last one. Non-zero exits keep their tab and output.
…ed servers

Replace the Servers list with a single dropdown switcher in the sidebar, collapsed rail and mobile repo sheet, flagging activity on other servers. Show the More button on remote sessions, the tab bar on server and project pages, and the server name in a distinct color in the session header.
…on on load errors

External settings openers push a history entry and close the mobile sheet. The sidebar server selection only falls back to Local after the server list loads successfully.

# Conflicts:

…vers

Model preferences are per user, as in the OpenCode TUI, so linked servers read and write the same model state as the local server. The picker still only lists models in the current server's catalog, and a failed preference load no longer blocks model selection.
…e the server page

The home page follows the sidebar server selection and lists a linked server's projects with the same cards, search and row actions as local repositories. /servers/:id now selects that server and redirects home. Back from a remote session goes to its project page and back from a project goes home, and the selection follows the route app-wide so mobile keeps the linked server.
The open-directory form no longer sits at the bottom of the project list, where it overlapped the mobile tab bar. A button beside the search input opens it in a dialog.
…oads

The browser stream usually connects before the linked server list resolves, so a fresh page never fetched remote active sessions and busy remote sessions showed as idle until their status changed. Reconcile each enabled linked server once per stream connection, including servers that arrive or are enabled after the stream connects.
