- Around line 59-66: Update saveFileFromUrl’s iOS home-screen branch to catch
failures from fetchWrapperBlob, show the existing failure toast, and only call
saveFile after a successful fetch. Preserve the existing non-iOS saveViaAnchor
path; do not add separate response validation.
In `@frontend/src/pages/SessionDetail.tsx`:
- Line 423: Update handleExportSession and the Markdown export chain so
downloadMarkdown returns a success result propagated from saveFile and
saveViaShareSheet; represent cancellation, share-unavailable, retry, and generic
share-error outcomes as unsuccessful. Await the result in handleExportSession
and emit the “Exported to ...” toast only when the export succeeds.

Problem
In an installed iOS home-screen web app, tapping any download hands the file to iOS Quick Look ("Open in ..."), which takes over the app's only web view with no back affordance — the user is stranded and must force-quit. This is a known, unfixed WebKit/platform behavior (webkit #236943, #275288) affecting
<a download>,blob:URLs, andContent-Disposition: attachmentalike;target="_blank"does not help becausewindow.openbypasses the manifest scope. The same code works correctly in an iOS Safari tab.Fix
New shared helper
frontend/src/lib/download.ts:saveFile(blob, filename)/saveFileFromUrl(url, filename)navigator.share({ files: [File] }), never a navigation.AbortError(user cancelled) is silent.NotAllowedError— transient activation is 5s in WebKit andawait fetchcan outlast it — shows a toast with a Save action, so the retry runs on a fresh tap with the blob already in memory. All six duplicated download implementations now route through it:
frontend/src/api/files.ts,frontend/src/api/repos.ts(ZIPs)frontend/src/lib/exportSession.ts(now async; callerfrontend/src/pages/SessionDetail.tsx)frontend/src/components/settings/OpenCodeConfigManager.tsxfrontend/src/components/file-browser/FileTree.tsx,FilePreview.tsxAlso fixed a latent race while consolidating:
revokeObjectURLwas called synchronously afterclick(); it now defers a tick.Testing
frontend/src/lib/download.test.ts: anchor path, share path (asserts no anchor click), and the activation-loss retry.tsc -b --noEmitclean;eslint .clean.downloadRepo) and share cancellation (AbortError, silent) were also checked.Note: verification was on the simulator, which cannot fully vouch for share-sheet destinations (AirDrop/Photos behave differently than on device); a physical-device pass remains worthwhile.
How to test manually
Open the app from an iOS home-screen icon (not a Safari tab), open a file in the file browser, and tap download. A system share sheet appears with Save to Files instead of a Quick Look takeover, and the app stays usable.
