CEMFI Banking & Finance Seminars

The CEMFI Banking & Finance website brings together the seminar and PhD workshop calendar, historical archive, booking workflows, faculty availability, and organizer tools for the Banking & Finance group at CEMFI.

Website: https://cemfi-bf.github.io

The website provides a single interface for the B&F seminar programme. Visitors can see upcoming seminars and workshops and explore past presentations; invited speakers can request seminar dates; PhD students can book workshop slots; faculty can record their availability; and organizers can manage the programme.

Calendar

The Calendar provides the public overview of upcoming Banking & Finance seminars and PhD workshops.

It shows confirmed presentations and pending seminar requests, together with their dates and times. Event details include the presenter, affiliation, paper title, coauthors, and abstract when available. The calendar also reflects dates that are unavailable because of other events or scheduling constraints.

History

The History window contains the archive of confirmed B&F Seminars and PhD Workshops, going back to 2015.

The archive can be filtered by year and event type and searched by presenter, affiliation, paper title, coauthors, or abstract. Results can also be exported as CSV, JSON, or ICS, making the archive useful both for browsing and for working with the seminar history as data.

Book seminar

The Book seminar window allows invited presenters to request a B&F Seminar slot.

Standard seminars take place on Mondays from 13:30 to 15:00. Presenters can also propose another weekday when necessary, subject to organizer approval.

The booking form records the presenter's name, affiliation, contact information, biography, and website. If the paper is already known, the presenter can also provide its title, coauthors, and abstract.

For Monday dates, the window shows the expected availability of B&F faculty, helping presenters and organizers identify dates on which more faculty members are likely to attend.

Submitted seminar requests remain pending until they are reviewed by the organizers.

Book workshop

The Book workshop window allows CEMFI PhD students to request a Banking & Finance PhD Workshop slot.

Students select their profile and choose a date. Mondays are the standard workshop day, with a default time of 13:30 to 14:30, although another weekday can be proposed when needed.

Students can provide the paper title, coauthors, and abstract when these are already known, or submit the booking with the paper still to be determined.

For Monday dates, the window also displays expected faculty attendance. Workshop requests are subsequently reviewed by the organizer.

Faculty

The Faculty window allows B&F faculty members to record their expected attendance for seminar Mondays.

Mondays on which a faculty member is available are shown in green. Faculty can mark individual dates on which they will not be at CEMFI and later restore their availability if their plans change.

This information feeds directly into the availability indicators shown to seminar presenters and PhD students when they choose a date.

Organizer

The Organizer window provides the administrative tools used to manage the seminar programme.

For Seminars, organizers can review pending requests, approve or reject them, create seminars directly, and edit or cancel confirmed events.

For PhD Workshops, organizers can similarly review booking requests, approve or reject them, and create, edit, or cancel workshops.

The Exogenous Events section allows organizers to create and manage events or blocked periods that make particular dates unavailable for seminars and workshops.

Together, these tools connect the public calendar, seminar and workshop booking processes, faculty availability, historical archive, and administrative workflow within a single website.
