Summary

The ECR Public mirror (public.ecr.aws/docker/library), which CI has used since 0eefeca, now refuses anonymous pulls from GitHub runners with toomanyrequests: Data limit exceeded. Since October 13 a database or Redis job failed this way about ten times, at "Initialize containers", before any test ran. The CI run on main for 0a26ebb is red for this reason (postgresql (18), mysql (8.0)), and two reruns failed again.

Change

.github/workflows/ci.yml pulls the five service images from mirror.gcr.io/library/, Google's cache of the official Docker Hub images. Each tag that CI uses answers 200 to an anonymous manifest request: postgres 14 and 18, mysql 8.0 and 8.4, redis 7.

Compatibility

CI only. No package change. The images are the same official images.

Validation

This pull request's own CI pulls each image from the new source.

The ECR Public mirror now refuses anonymous pulls from GitHub runners
with "toomanyrequests: Data limit exceeded". Since October 13 it has
failed a database or Redis job about ten times, at "Initialize
containers", before any test ran. The red CI run on main for 0a26ebb
failed this way on postgresql (18) and mysql (8.0), and two reruns
failed again.

mirror.gcr.io is Google's cache of the official Docker Hub images and
serves the five tags that CI uses (postgres 14 and 18, mysql 8.0 and
8.4, redis 7) to anonymous clients. The image contents do not change.

ECR Public refused the PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis image pulls with
"toomanyrequests: Data limit exceeded", so the database jobs failed
before a test ran. mirror.gcr.io serves the same Docker Hub library
images. The JavaScript repository moved to it in
cardmagic/solid-objects-js#79.
