    FYI @crepererum @mbrobbel and @tustvold -- I will hope to make a release candidate later this week

    🤔 -- I found that we merged a breaking change that we'll have to revert if we want to release a non breaking change:

    I made a PR to do so here:

    If anyone else has time to test their crates with this release that would be super helpful

    Here is an example of how I tested with DataFusion:

    I updated obstore to 0.12.4 in developmentseed/obstore#568 and looks like the rust side is all right, and it's just a new Python clippy-esque check that's breaking CI

    Maybe it is related to Rust 1.90 that was released today: https://blog.rust-lang.org/2025/09/18/Rust-1.90.0/

    I had to fix some clippy stuff in this repo too:

    By "clippy-esque" I meant there was a Python linter (not clippy) that in my CI uses the latest release, and so that's actually now breaking my CI on my main branch.

    Given the results from @kylebarron and myself in DataFusion I will proceed to making a RC and starting a vote. If anyone else tests and finds anything (either good or bad) over the voting period (3 days) please let us know

    @evanj

    In case it helps: I was able to build/pass unit tests for the thing I work on where I asked about this release. Confirming that this fixes the retry issue that we see occasionally when talking to real object storage will take a bit longer though, since we will need to deploy it then wait for the connection resets to happen.

    Thanks for preparing this release!
