MicroGraphs samples

Datasets and code samples for MicroGraphs, the cloud platform for graph data: graphs to import into a database, a query console, pages carrying an embedded graph, and bills of material for MicroGraphs PLM.

Every dataset is a folder of CSV files in the import's header convention (the first line says what each column is: code:ID(Airport), :START_ID, :END_ID, :TYPE, elevation:int). Download a folder's files and drop them all on the database's Import Data tab together: each file says header annotated - imported as is, the plan names the node labels and relationship types it creates, and Import loads them. The folder's README says what each file imports as, which queries to try and what the graph shows. A generate.mjs beside a dataset rewrites it, the same files every time (node data/satellite-network/generate.mjs).

Code

Folder Language What it shows
js-query-console JavaScript, Node.js 18 or later, no dependency An interactive Cypher console in about fifty lines: the whole protocol is one POST <endpoint>/query
graph-embed HTML and JavaScript, a small Node.js server A page carrying an embedded graph three ways (script, iframe, the events API), and a live graph whose values a token signed by the page's own server locks
plm CSV Bills of material for MicroGraphs PLM: a multi-level sheet as Altium exports it, a flat KiCad export, and a whole PLM package of 22 files

Datasets

Folder What it is Nodes Relationships Size License
data/air-routes The world's airports and the routes between them, from Practical Gremlin; the globe, the axes layout, the embedded graph of the documentation 3,749 (3,504 airports) 57,645 (50,637 routes) 2.3 MB Apache 2.0
data/earthquakes Every earthquake of 2025 of magnitude 4.5 or more, at its depth: the globe below the ground 8,735 12,322 1.2 MB US public domain (USGS)
data/protein-structure Human hemoglobin, every atom at its place: the axes layout in three dimensions at true scale 5,138 12,680 472 KB CC0 (PDB 2DN2)
data/research-citations Papers citing older papers, with dates, counts, fields and team sizes: every kind of axis 6,500 27,203 760 KB Apache 2.0, synthetic
data/satellite-network Two shells of satellites, geostationary relays and ground stations: the globe with altitude 2,371 5,935 228 KB Apache 2.0, synthetic
data/submarine-cables Cable systems and their repeaters on the sea floor: the globe below sea level 1,229 1,267 120 KB Apache 2.0, synthetic
data/graph-3d-communities People in regions and groups: nesting that reads in three dimensions 8,080 19,168 376 KB Apache 2.0, synthetic
data/graph-maps-small-social A small social graph with cities and tags: a first graph map, and a map of a query 50,600 250,000 3.8 MB Apache 2.0, synthetic
data/graph-maps-stores Stores near real cities with opening dates, and their shoppers: maps by location and by time 50,000 37,334 1.8 MB Apache 2.0, synthetic
data/graph-maps-social-network 200,000 people in 543 communities with their companies and towns: graph maps of communities, density, and in 3D 200,763 946,252 15 MB Apache 2.0, synthetic

The synthetic graphs name no real person, paper, satellite or cable. The three real ones credit their source in a SOURCE.md beside the files and in NOTICE.

Getting an endpoint and an API key

  1. Sign in to the console at console.micrographs.dev and open a database.
  2. Its endpoint is on the database's page: https://<id>.clusters.micrographs.dev. It speaks HTTPS and JSON, so any language with an HTTP client works; the same address is an MCP server at /mcp for your agents.
  3. On the API & MCP Keys tab, create a key (mgk_...): a read key for queries, a write key for CREATE, MERGE, SET and DELETE. The key is shown once; copy it. A database with no keys answers requests without one.

The console's own tabs (Query, Explore, Import Data) need no key: they reach the database as you.

License

The code and the synthetic datasets are under the Apache License 2.0, copyright Wondefield Works LLC. Third-party data keeps its own license, stated in its folder's SOURCE.md and in NOTICE. This repository is a published copy of the samples MicroGraphs keeps with its own code; open an issue here for a problem with a sample.
