AGENTS.md directs agent investigation notes, external comparisons, code-evidence inventories and routine checkpoints to each agent's own built-in memory outside Git. Authorized documentation retains current guidance, essential rationale and necessary supporting references; unavailable memory falls back to chat without claiming persistence. The common handoff wording follows the same boundary.

Only agent instructions change. Existing product documentation and runtime behaviour are unchanged.

Validation: Exact shared-policy comparison, nine instruction links/headings, publication-boundary review and git diff --check passed. Website/runtime checks are not required for this instruction-only change. Independent review found no actionable issues.

PR-triggered GitHub documentation CI passed for both / and /excel/; publication was skipped.

Direct investigation notes, code-evidence inventories and routine checkpoints to each agent’s own built-in memory. Keep essential rationale and claim-supporting references in authorized documentation, and align handoffs with the memory and chat fallback.
