Reject stats pools when producer is None or the stats identity is invalid.
accepts compares two Options. PoolKey::from_stats returns None for an invalid stats identity. Examples are a wrong digest length or an UNSPECIFIED or unknown source. self.producer is None in these cases:
- The catalog has several aggregated producers.
- The catalog has no base-target producer.
In either case, None == None evaluates to true.
Trigger: producer is None, and a snapshot contains an aggregated PoolKvUsage or PoolLoad entry. That entry's pool is Some but has default or invalid identity fields. Proto3 defaults make this shape easy to produce.
Consequence:
project_loadattributes that unknown pool'slive_workers,max_concurrency, and scheduler load to this DGD.project_usagedoes the same for capacity and usage when the model matches.- The
ambiguoustest case is meant to exclude scheduler data in this situation. It does not cover this case.

Apply observations with the current lease. Do not open a new lease for every message.
PoolObservationAssembler::open clears the plane and calls self.sink.replace(...) before it returns (lib/kv-router/src/global_view/source.rs:167-177). Then apply takes the lock again and publishes the new value.
Every usage or load message therefore causes these effects:
replacepublishes up to two states per plane. Each message touches two planes, so one message can publish up to four times.- Each publish clones the full state.
- A reader can see an empty capacity, load, or KV-usage plane between
openandapply.
Diagnostics and scoring can briefly see missing capacity or load for a healthy pool.
Open a new lease only when the plane must be cleared, which is when observation is None. Otherwise, call apply with the lease already stored in the slot. clear() and stream reconnects still fence stale generations.

Do not clear stats planes when the effective stats catalog is unchanged.
Same-revision heartbeat frames are skipped before publication. However, the coordinator accepts a newer revision with the same snapshot. That rebuilds an equal StatsCatalog, calls send_replace, and clears valid stats observations.

- RelayAuthenticator returns a plain RelayIdentity; verify() wraps it in VerifiedRelayIdentity, so authenticators in other crates can implement the trait. - Directory gains get(&K), so admission does not list per connection. - Announcement gains async withdraw(); Drop cannot run async cleanup. Kubernetes mode now follows SIG Multicluster (MCS) on a trusted network with reachable pod addresses. Discovery there only knows a pool's name and whether its PoolRelay endpoint is Ready, so: - PoolRecord: runtime_namespace, frontend_endpoint, model and relay_identity are Option, filled later from the Relay's catalog. - PoolDiscoveryMode::Kubernetes drops the lease and takes the MCS implementation (Standard or Karmada), a PoolRelay Service name suffix, and the router Service. A name rule replaces exportedLabels, which not every implementation supports. - PeerCredentials::PeerAddress names a caller by its source address, for trusted networks without a mesh. …mode Admission, the Relay's RegisterPool client, and the Relay connections work the same in every discovery mode, so they need no traits: - PoolAdmission becomes the function `admit`, with unit tests. - PoolAnnouncer and Announcement are removed. The Relay reads a ReplicaDirectory in every mode; gRPC and Hybrid fill it from the RegisterPool and Heartbeat replies. - RelayListener and RelayDialer move out to the transport work, which still has to choose between a push RPC and a reverse tunnel. #15933 replaced the PoolAdmission trait with the `admit` function and removed RelayListener and RelayDialer. Drop DirectoryAdmission here and point the docs at `verify` and `admit`. - `admit` keeps its signature; the body and tests come with the first mode's implementation (they are in 79b29e2). - PoolDiscoveryMode keeps one variant per mode. Assume the operator deploys the Global Router, so each replica registers with the hub's runtime discovery like a worker. Runtime discovery lists only Ready pods, so a replica's readiness must not wait for its pools. StateBroadcaster
(kind of like in old fashioned radio / tv - you have Broadcasters and Receivers)
its a little more fun than listener. Dialer is kind of nice too though.

sorry maybe the scope of dial is a single endpoint and the scope of broadcast is the entire directory? wdyt

I agree. The StateDialer will depend on the transport (push, reverse tunnel0). The StateBroadcaster for the entire ReplicaDirectory.
…er and StateBroadcaster Review feedback: the router side receives pool state and the Relay side broadcasts it, like a radio broadcaster and its receivers. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Signed-off-by: Anna Tchernych <atchernych@nvidia.com>
Code in other crates can now read the verified identity, to compare it with a pool record or log it, but still cannot create one. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Signed-off-by: Anna Tchernych <atchernych@nvidia.com>
Review feedback: dialing is scoped to one replica and broadcasting to the whole directory. StateDialer opens one connection and is the only part that depends on the transport. StateBroadcaster keeps one connection per replica in the ReplicaDirectory and is the same in every mode. Registration now goes through the Global Discovery Service: a PoolRelay calls RegisterPool on a timer, and each call is also the pool's heartbeat. Relays list router replicas separately, as GET /routers. - PoolRegistrar drops `heartbeat`. Registering an unchanged record again only renews it. - Registration drops `replicas` and keeps the lease policy. - PoolRecord gains the fields RegisterPool carries: capabilities, the local frontend URLs, and capacity per hardware SKU. - The docs say who hosts these calls in the Hybrid and Kubernetes modes. The MCS pool directory fills the new PoolRecord fields with empty values. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Signed-off-by: Anna Tchernych <atchernych@nvidia.com>

Overview:
Abstractions for Global Router discovery fixes [DEP-1276]
This is per ai-dynamo/enhancements#103
Details:
New abstractions added in green, existing are in white:

Stacked on #15301, so the diff shows only the new abstractions (
lib/kv-router/src/pool_discovery/). Signatures only; no mode is implemented here. Not in this PR: every mode's implementation. The Relay connections (
StateReceiver,StateDialer,StateBroadcaster,StateConnectioninconnection.rs) are signatures only and subject to change until the push RPC vs reverse tunnel decision.Registration goes through the Global Discovery Service: a PoolRelay calls
RegisterPoolon a timer, and each call is also the pool's heartbeat, soPoolRegistrarhas no separateheartbeat. Router replicas come fromGET /routers, not from theRegisterPoolreply, soRegistrationkeeps only the lease.PoolRecordcarries the registration fields: capabilities, frontend URLs, and capacity per hardware SKU. The service itself is in #15949.Main components
Same in every mode
PoolDiscoveryModepicks the mode (grpc | kubernetes | hybrid | file) at startup and buildsPoolDiscovery.StateReceiver: accepts connections from Relays in the Global Router.ReplicaDirectory: stores the Global Router replicas. Each router replica registers itself with the Dynamo runtime discovery (reused) in the hub's Kubernetes API, which fills the list. The operator treats the Global Router as a component.StateDialer: opens a state connection from the Relay to one router replica. The only part that depends on the transport.StateBroadcaster: keeps one connection to every router replica in theReplicaDirectory, usingStateDialerfor each.Different per mode
