into the TerminalInfo construction using the default TerminalInfo update near
TerminalInfo::default(). Ensure close_terminal_pane receives the owner socket so
its close command includes the correct -S value and cannot target another tmux
server’s pane.

Preserve the tmux socket for orphaned PTYs
When hcom stop leaves an interactive PTY alive, hooks/common.rs resolves its terminal metadata but PidRecord/PidEntry and OrphanProcess retain every server identifier except the new tmux_socket_path; this default therefore reconstructs TerminalInfo with an empty socket. The orphan kill paths in commands/kill.rs then skip the new socket splice, so killing that orphan from another tmux server can still send kill-pane to the caller's same-numbered pane. Carry the socket through pidtrack and restore it here.

[Medium impact] The changes affect tmux pane closing and split launches. Not ready to merge because missing or inherited Findings
SummaryThe PR saves tmux ownership with launch context and stopped-process records, then checks the saved server PID before closing a pane.

Capturing TMUX only in the start hook leaves startup kills unfixed. Proxy::spawn saves the PID and pane ID before the tool runs its start hook, and hcom kill accepts those records. If startup is slow or stuck, killing the instance from another server still runs tmux kill-pane without -S and can close that server's matching pane.
Capture the socket in build_early_launch_context too.

Parent socket overrides pane owner
If a custom preset opens a pane on server B from server A, the new-pane runner can replace B's fresh TMUX with A's saved value. The runner excludes TMUX_PANE from the parent's environment, but not TMUX. This pairs B's pane ID with A's socket, so the close command forces -S to A even when kill runs from B.
Exclude TMUX from the environment replayed inside new panes, or capture the socket directly from the owning server.

Add coverage for subcommand options and selectors following a value-taking
global option.

Capture the first same-process tmux socket
When the launcher persists process_id before the first SessionStart hook (for example, launch_pty does so in launcher.rs:1424-1430), the old row has the current process ID but no TMUX metadata. The hook then enters this same-ID/old_socket == None branch and deletes the valid TMUX value it just captured from the pane; subsequent hooks repeat the deletion, so the new close guard sees an empty socket and refuses to close the tmux pane. Store this first socket for tmux launches (or capture it in the early launch context) instead of treating it as a caller value.

Retain the socket when adopting an orphan
When hcom start --orphan or claim_orphans reattaches a stopped PTY, attach_runtime_state can copy only fields on OrphanProcess, after which pidtrack.rs:504 or commands/start.rs:303 removes the pidfile entry. This implementation exposes the socket only through a lazy lookup in terminal_info() and never places it on OrphanProcess, so the recovered row's launch_context has no socket and a subsequent kill leaves the tmux pane open. Carry the field through From<PidEntry> and restore it during attachment.
Useful? React with 👍 / 👎.
Record the pane's TMUX and close through it, and skip the close unless that server still has the pane under the same server pid (pane ids restart at %0 when a server restarts on the same socket). The check times out so a hung server can't block the kill. Also run the tmux-split script via bash, like the tmux preset.

Missing ownership closes unrelated panes
Instances saved before this change lack env.TMUX. Their empty tmux now skips the server check and runs the close command with the caller’s environment. If both servers contain %0, killing an older instance can close the caller’s unrelated pane.
Refuse to close without a saved owner unless the close command explicitly selects a server.

Failed cleanup looks successful
If the caller cannot reach the tmux socket, the query fails and returns failed_without_command(), which has no retry command. Pane cleanup is skipped, but hcom kill reports success after signalling the process. The user gets neither a warning nor a command to retry.
Keep an error or retry command for query failures instead of treating them like a confirmed stale owner.
