Can't run

Hello, can you help me with understanding of how to run this project? I'm not able to build it now, probably too new Android Studio, but, I found app-debug.apk and app-release.apk. 
I can't install app-release.apk, but I was able to run app-debug.apk, but when I'm connecting to the car - it goes to crash. 
I use Android 10.
