The original Community Webservices mod was a binary patch only tested on Zune 4.8.2345.0 x64. As of ZMH 2025.8.20.0-alpha, a more universal fallback is implemented using the hosts file. However, editing hosts is messy and error-prone and should only be used when absolutely necessary. Ideally, there would be a binary patch for as many versions as ZuneNetApi supports.
