Created by Roomote. Follow up by mentioning @roomote, in the web UI, or in Discord.

What changed

  • Link newly published Zoo Code / PR review gate statuses to the exact reconciliation workflow run that produced the decision.
  • Continue deduplicating unchanged state and description so hourly runs do not republish a status only because their run URL differs.
  • Cover both initial publication and changed-status transitions using the workflow-run target URL, while preserving unchanged-status reuse.

Why this change was made

The gate status previously linked back to the pull request itself, so clicking Details returned users to the page they were already viewing and provided no diagnostic context.

Impact

The gate’s Details action now opens the relevant GitHub Actions run, where maintainers can inspect required-check evaluation and the selected review phase. Existing unchanged statuses keep their original link until their state or description changes.

There is no rendered extension UI change.

Review status

Thanks for contributing. This comment tracks the review sequence and the next action.

Current step: Awaiting fresh human maintainer or CODEOWNER approval.

Automated review is complete for the latest commit but does not replace human approval.

Review-state labels are managed by this workflow; do not edit them manually. community-approved is managed the same way — do not add or remove it manually. It signals a fresh community code approval for the current head as an advisory priority only; maintainer review is still required.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Review-gate status updates now link directly to the relevant workflow run, making it easier to inspect the run associated with a status.
    • Duplicate status detection no longer depends on an existing status having the same link. Statuses can be updated even when an earlier status has a different link or description.

The workflow now links review-gate statuses to the current GitHub Actions run. Status reuse no longer depends on the previous target URL. Tests provide run metadata and verify the published URL.

Changes: Review-state status links

Layer / File(s) Summary
Workflow-run status handling

The workflow constructs the current run URL, reuses matching statuses without comparing target_url, and publishes new statuses with the run URL. Tests supply the required run metadata and verify the published URL.

Full details: Regression Evidence

Explanation

Focused coverage exists at the workflow harness layer. The initial-publication test asserts the exact workflow-run target_url; the changed-status test asserts republishing with the same URL; and the unchanged-status test supplies a different existing URL and verifies no republish. Existing failure and lookup-error tests cover the affected publication path. No rendered extension UI changed, so no Playwright snapshot is required.

Full details: Security Boundaries

Explanation

No changed path meets the security failure conditions. The workflow only derives workflowRunUrl from GitHub context (serverUrl, repository owner/name, and runId) and uses it as the commit status target_url. The changed deduplication condition removes only the prior URL comparison. The test changes supply fixed harness metadata and assert the resulting URL. No secret or PII flow, unvalidated execution, or approval/allowlist bypass is introduced.

Full details: Persistence Integrity

Explanation

No changed persistence failure is present. The workflow still awaits the status lookup and createCommitStatus call; the PR only changes target_url and the deduplication comparison. The changed status path uses workflowRunUrl, and tests cover initial and changed status publication plus unchanged-status reuse.

Full details: Lifecycle Resource Cleanup

Explanation

No changed lifecycle path can leak a resource or duplicate work after cancellation, disposal, or restart. The workflow changes only construct the run URL and change review-gate deduplication/publication at .github/workflows/label-pr-review-state.yml:322 and 660-674. These lines do not add listeners, watchers, providers, timers, tasks, or cleanup paths. Removing target_url from the unchanged-status comparison prevents republishing when only the run URL differs. The test changes only supply run metadata and verify status URLs.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description clearly explains what changed, why it changed, and its impact. It does not follow the required template because it omits the linked GitHub Issue, Test Procedure, Pre-Submission Checklist, Documentation Updates, and Get in Touch sections.

Resolution

Add the required template sections. Include an approved issue number, repeatable test steps and environment details, completed checklist items, documentation impact, and the required Discord username.
