Problem

Every dashboard tab sat at its own natural size in the middle of a fixed stage, so Workspaces read as one small tile in a large window. The Signal Spine's CPU ridge was a jagged canvas line with no rounded edges or outline, and the clock opened with a fuzzy, noisy outline from its shader.

Plan

Give every tab the whole stage, and build the Dashboard tab from one live tile that every tab can reuse: dark glass, a hairline that warms toward the accent under the pointer, light along the top edge, and one moving part per tile that moves only when its value does.

Resolution

  • Tabs fill the stage edge to edge; the stage grows to at most 1680 by 940.
  • SignalTile (components): the shared tile, with an icon, a label, a figure and a dot that pulses while its subject works. The pulse stops behind fullscreen windows.
  • The Dashboard tab is a twelve by six grid of tiles: clock, processor and network as smooth curves, media with controls, memory and graphics rings, live agent sessions (a click focuses the session), calendar, weather, the local engine in use, controls, and a focus timer.
  • Workspaces is a live map: each workspace card draws its windows where they sit on their monitor, with app icon and title; a click focuses the window.
  • Curves are antialiased cubic paths through every sample. The clock is plain crisp text with an accent rule.
  • The Spine surface is gone, since the tile grid replaces it. The layout setting keeps its stored value spine and now reads Live tiles, so no setting migrates.
  • tests/design_language_baseline.json is re-baselined for three MaterialIcon uses the new tiles need (tile headers, media and focus controls). Radii are derived, not literal, and there are no direct palette reads.

Flow, Wallpapers and AI Chat now fill the stage but keep their own layouts; rebuilding them on the tile is the next pass on this ticket. Deployed and running on aphotic for review.

Tabs were centred at their own size inside a fixed stage, so Workspaces
was a small tile in a large window. Every tab now fills the stage, and
Workspaces maps each workspace's windows where they sit. The Spine's CPU
ridge is a smooth antialiased curve in a rounded, outlined well, and the
clock is plain text instead of the noise shader that left a fuzzy edge.
Twelve columns by six rows filling the stage: clock, processor and
network curves, media, memory and graphics rings, agents, calendar,
weather, local AI, controls and focus. Every tile shares one Signal tile
whose hairline warms under the pointer and whose dot lights while its
subject works.
The bento grid replaced the Spine on the Dashboard tab, so its surface,
terrain and probe go. The layout setting keeps its stored value and now
reads Live tiles. Radii are derived, not literal; the remaining icon rise
is the new tiles' headers and controls, re-baselined on purpose.
