New Info page switch Gradually louder alarm, off by default. When on, the alarm starts at 10% and steps up evenly to full volume over 30 seconds, for heavy sleepers. From AGENTS.md "Future feature ideas".
How
AlarmService: sets the player to 10% beforestart(), then a main-looper Handler steps it up once a second. Only MediaPlayer.setVolume (relative to the alarm stream); the system alarm volume is never changed.
Ramp callbacks are cancelled in releaseRingingResources() (every stop path, including a re-ring), and each tick checks it still owns the current player.
Setting stored natively next to the snooze length (dosekeeper_settings), since the service rings without Dart.
Off = exactly the old behaviour.
Checks
flutter analyze: no issues
flutter test: all pass
flutter build apk --debug: builds
📱 Real-phone check: turn it on, use the test alarm, and listen for quiet to full over ~30s. Tap Taken mid-ramp and confirm nothing crashes. Turn it off and confirm the alarm is full volume immediately.

A new Info page switch, off by default, makes the alarm start at 10%
volume and step up evenly to full over 30 seconds, for heavy sleepers.
It scales only the alarm's own player, never the system alarm volume,
and the ramp is cancelled wherever the player is released.

The app adds a default-off alarm volume-ramp setting. When enabled, the Android alarm player starts at 10% volume and increases to full volume over 30 seconds. The info page provides a switch to read and update the setting.

Summary
Native setting and channel android/app/src/main/kotlin/dev/susiee/dosekeeper/SnoozePrefs.kt, android/app/src/main/kotlin/dev/susiee/dosekeeper/MainActivity.kt
SnoozePrefs stores the setting as a Boolean that defaults to false. MainActivity exposes methods to read and update it.
Alarm player volume ramp android/app/src/main/kotlin/dev/susiee/dosekeeper/AlarmService.kt, AGENTS.md
When the setting is enabled, AlarmService ramps its player from 10% to full volume in 30 one-second steps. It cancels pending ramp callbacks during resource release. The documentation notes that the Android 12 fallback notification sound is not ramped and that device verification is pending.
Info page setting control lib/services/alarm_bridge.dart, lib/ui/info_page.dart
AlarmBridge reads and updates the native setting. InfoPage displays a switch and saves changes.

Merge Risk: Minimal · up to 66c93
The opt-in gradually louder alarm is default-off and leaves existing alarm behavior unchanged when disabled. One minor quirk is that a second dose ringing mid-ramp restarts the ramp quietly, but the alarm keeps sounding. No actionable merge-blocking risk remains.
Security architecture risk: Low · up to 66c93
The feature is opt-in and remains within the app’s existing permissions and playback service. Normal cancellation and player replacement are protected. Remaining uncertainty concerns recovery from playback errors, not a demonstrated new security exposure.
Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The new setting's effective authority is limited to this app's player-volume behavior on the device. The inspected path adds neither cross-app service access nor authority over medication records, remote services, or credentials.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — The producer is the app's Flutter settings UI, and the native consumer reads the value from MODE_PRIVATE SharedPreferences. Launching the already-exported MainActivity does not itself dispatch either new method-channel operation.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — Initial ramp setup is inside the existing playback exception handler, while delayed setVolume calls have no local exception handler or recovery branch. Normal player replacement is protected by cleanup and identity checks; exceptional playback recovery remains unvalidated rather than a demonstrated security failure.

Explanation
The title "Add an opt-in gradually louder alarm" matches the main change in the changeset. The PR adds an off-by-default Info page setting. When enabled, the alarm player starts at 10% volume and ramps to full volume over 30 seconds. The native code (AlarmService, MainActivity, SnoozePrefs) and the Dart bridge and InfoPage changes all support this feature. The title is specific, concise, and accurate.
