About The Repository

This repository contains a small Vite web app written in JavaScript with TypeScript checking for exploring how Icelandic monthly gross salary is split into take-home pay, withholding tax, pension fund contributions, and optional additional private pension savings.

Goal

The goal of the project is to provide a simple, transparent salary calculator for a typical salaried worker in Iceland, using official 2026 tax rules and showing the result in a clear visual breakdown.

Run Locally

npm install
npm run dev

Build And Test

npm run test
npm run typecheck
npm run build

Deployment

Pull requests targeting main and pushes to main run the test, typecheck, and production build checks. Pushes to main then run the serialized self-hosted deployment by invoking sudo -n /opt/launareiknir/deploy.sh with no arguments, using the runner's existing sudo rule. The script fast-forwards the server's main checkout to the fetched remote main, refuses local changes or divergent history, and rebuilds and restarts the service through /opt/traefik.

The verification gate applies to the triggering commit. Deployment fetches the latest main, which may have advanced since that verification run.
