A web platform designed to modernize driving school management and help learners manage their driving lessons in Benin.

Overview

Permis Bénin is a personal full-stack project focused on building a modern digital experience for driving schools and driving learners in Benin.

The platform is designed to centralize key learner interactions such as registration, profile management, driving lesson booking, course scheduling, and access to driving school information.

The project follows a separated frontend/backend architecture, with a modern web frontend communicating with a Symfony API.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

Make sure you have installed:

• Node.js
• npm
• PHP
• Composer
• Symfony CLI
• MySQL or PostgreSQL

Frontend

Install dependencies:

npm install

Create your local environment file:

cp .env.example .env.local

Start the development server:

npm run dev

The application will then be available locally through the Next.js development server.

Backend

Install PHP dependencies:

composer install

Create your environment file:

cp .env.example .env

Create the database:

php bin/console doctrine:database:create

Run migrations:

php bin/console doctrine:migrations:migrate

Start Symfony:

symfony server:start

This is an ongoing personal project.

The platform is being developed progressively, with additional features and improvements planned as the project evolves.
